The stories I am reading that people have posted are wonderful ways to learn a bit more about some saints we don’t yet know. All the saints are blessed as are the lives they have touched, and I am rejoicing! For me, one holds a very special place among the other wonderful saints. La Pucelle, the Maid of Orléans! Saint Joan is especially dear to me.
I fell in love with her years ago, even when I was an unbeliever. Ultimately the conflict of my belief in her true story and my disbelief in God came to a head… and overnight I was converted by the grace of God (and I am sure, thanks to the intercessions of sweet Saint Joan of Arc)
Sometimes it is hard for me to think about God in a pure and loving way as opposed to a detached way, but it is not so hard with Joan, and my love for her leads me bit by bit (I hope!) to the Father from whom all love spills forth.
“Je n’ai pas peur des soldats, car ma route m’a été ouverte, et si les soldats viennent, j’ai Dieu, mon Seigneur, qui saura comment libérer la route qui mène à Sieur le Dauphin. C’est pour cela que je fus nais.”
