Your Favorite Winter Olympic Event

By a long shot, my favorite winter Olympic event is the closing ceremony :sour face:

Favorite sport or favorite to watch…

My favorite is probably Nordic Skiing, and I will vote other in the poll.

Now I can’t decide what my favorite to watch is. Traditionally I enjoy watching figure skating. But I have been really enjoying speed skating (both long and short track) and snowboarding this year so far. Luge and related sports are fun to watch. Oh and we can’t forget ski jumping :eek: I have decided that a large number of winter Olympic sports are terrifying. LOL. I think moguls is my least favorite event, unless I am forgetting something.
 
I do enjoy a lot of the events but for some reason I’m fascinated with curling so that got my vote. Kinda surprised that as of this moment, it has the most votes

I haven’t voted yet; deciding was harder than I thought. I checked one, then another, and another and I realized I could check them all. I think my simple answer is whatever I’m watching at the moment. I was in figure skating when I was younger and watching it can stress me out so I’ll watch if know what happened (falls:(, injuries:() so I don’t freak out. I enjoyed watching hockey too and I understand it better than other sports and I can become rather vocal and physical and get emotionally invested.

It’s complicated.
 
Figure skating is definitely the main thing I’ve been watching. I love figure skating, and it always amazes me at how graceful all of the figure skating Olympians, though I know practice is key.🙂

👍 Full agreement.

However, if I were forced to choose:
  1. Hockey, because I’m Canadian and I could lose my citizenship otherwise;
  2. Curling, because it’s the only sport I ever tried that I found even marginally enjoyable;
  3. Biathlon, because I’m always reminded of how Finnish soldiers on skis kicked Soviet butt during the Winter War. (I always root for the underdog – which is why I like Eddie the Eagle and the Jamaican bobsled team.)
 
I love all the sledding, alpine & freestyle skiing, & snowboarding events.

There is a rumor that Canadians are born with skates on 😃
 
I couldn’t find Apres Ski anywhere! Warm fires; fingers of cold curling under the window jambs; a very dry martini or three; good friends and loved ones…

I shed a couple of tears at one point during her performance after the song began. She is such a wonderful skater, and her choice of music is superb. 👍
