Hey guys,

Don’t know if we already have one of these threads on CAF but since I haven’t seen one yet I’m going to take the initiative and start one.

I personally adore churches in general and I’m going to post a few of my favs from my area.

Please feel free to show us your own favourite churches. I look forward to admiring them.

Here goes:

St Wilfrid’s Church served by the Jesuits ,

It’s a 25 minute train ride from here , and I was there on Thursday for the Sacrament of Reconciliation .

For 5 years , late 50s early 60s , I went to the Jesuit college just across the road from St Wilfrid’s .

It has many memories for me .

Viewed from the outside it might not look particularly striking , but once through the door it is amazing .

The Cathedral of Saint George of the Maronites, with the Muhammad Amin Mosque in the background. The Cathedral is a prime example of Latinized Maronite Catholicism, having been modelled after and inspired by the Latin Catholic Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore in Rome, Italy.

Cathedral of St John the Baptist in Turin, Italy. It is made of stone, medieval and houses the Shroud of Turin.

Chapel of Saints Peter and Paul, Hermitage of Saint Charbel. It’s not much to look at, but it’s a quiet little church. The type of pleasant village church in which you never seem to be able to raise your voice higher than a whisper.

I’ve seen quite some great churches in other countries, but St. Alban’s Church in Odense is about the best we have in little Denmark. :denmark:❤️

First is the beginning of my journey, infant baptism at a rural Kansas church. The second is my current church.
