Monsignor Maciejauskas died in Los Angeles in 1947, and was buried here. In 1993, his remains were returned to his homeland in Lithuania and reinterred at St. Jacob Apostle Churchyard in Sveksna, where he had served for 38 years.
In the early 1960s I was on a retreat given by a Jesuit priest who was a refugee from Lithuania .

Two of his sayings I still remember : In the East they are hard and cruel and in the West they are soft and lewd . The more you have , the more you want and the less it gives .

These few are in or around Cincinnati, OH. The first is the Cathedral in Covington, Kentucky. The other two are some older ones in Cincinnati. I forget their names.
