Well it certainly doesnt’ have a beautiful entrance like this -

Nor are it’s ceilings or walls gloriously painted like -(Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.)
or this
(Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.)

The interior is plain and neutral colored, with the exception of the stained glass windows. Sadly, the “70’s” I think affected it, though in ‘recent years’ there’s been evidence of some improvements and a general heading in the right direction.

It’s nothing to write home about - so that’s where I’ll leave it.

@Rob2 I notice that yellow is a very predominate color in these churches in India…secondarily, red. Do these colors have a cultural significance?
Idk about India, but in Byzantine iconography every color does have a meaning.

Red is the color of the Precious Blood, the Theotokos, human nature, martyrdom, and the Holy Cross.

Gold is the color of the glory of Heaven.

Green is the color of life, so the week after Pentecost is called Green Week because the Holy Spirit is the Lord and Giver of life.

Blue is the color of divinity.

Purple is the color of royalty and is used for Our Lord.

Black is the color of sin and death.

I know I missed some but those are the ones I remember. My RO cousin is an iconographer.

That’s in San Francisco (I don’t think I heard about it until now)? Do you know what’s it like being a parish (imagine having that as your parish)? Non practicing btw.
