Your net worth is $1m. How much would you give to save the life of an unborn child?

If you take away child support payments there’ll be more abortions because men will pressure women into having sex more since there’s no downside for them

Not necessarily. If the welfare payments being ponied up by the taxpayers for children born out of wedlock are sufficiently high, it would encourage more sexual relations but also a lot more childbirth too. Particularly among gals with no other marketable “skills.”

Is this comment acceptable?

I was just giving my analysis based upon many years of observation. I’ve seen enough young ladies in high school in poverty areas rush out to get pregnant so they can get their own check and their own apartment in the projects.

You may believe that is what you were doing. I read you as making a generalisation that is hurtful and insulting to mothers.

Either way it points out a truth…having a baby with daddy government is easier than parenting with a man. No need to rely on a man? Seems like a perk.

You have done it too. You are smearing the reputation of mothers.

I’m speaking as a parent.

Parenting is tough. Parenting when you have to constantly have to be on board with another person is one of the hardest parts about it. it’s well known that separated co-parenting adds layers of stress. Even amicable breakups can cause what’s called toxic stress in the adults involved as well as the children.

Men who are staying involved because they know that they are paying for it. Women who only let men be dad every other weekend because they want to make sure the checks keep coming. What then? When the government can be father or mother why bother with the difficulty of human relationships?

If I had liquid assets of say $1,000,000.00 cash, I would willingly give up 90% ($900,000.00) to save a single unborn child.

The reason I don’t give much is because my actual net worth in terms of USD, is about NEGATIVE $50,000.00.

My total liquid assets right now - cash - is about $30.00. I plan on giving about 10% of my entire amount of liquid assets to the Church today.

So in the context of the Irish referendum I have been wondering about the commitment of individual Catholics to individual human life as they see it. If, by giving much of your net worth, you could save the life of an unborn child, would you? And if yes, why have you not done so before now, as many such opportunities must have presented themselves?
Please give us an example of how an unborn child could be saved by money (whatever the amount is).

Possibly by tying up the abortion minded mother with legal battles until she is forced to give birth?

Idk @thistle, spitballin here.
