I don’t identify with any denomination-but I identify with people who share my beliefs-and that includes many catholics.

Did you agree that that view of God is blasphemous?

update: i don’t think she believes anymore. she is unwilling to go to church or do anything related to it. I am starting to think all of her anger is due to some incident that might have happened. I mean that’s the most likely reason, isn’t it.
It seems pointless to even try. :hypno:

Your 15/16 year old daughter refuses to go to church because of oppressive patriarchy and lives in a home where this is allowed?

I know this was alluded to earlier in the thread…but I have to say:

Question: How does God view women?
Answer: Mary, Mother of God…the greatest, most beautiful, most perfect, most God-like creature in all the cosmos.
 
I’m sorry to hear that. It seems like it only takes a bit of bad experience to put someone off church and an awful lot of good experience to change their mind. Try to keep communicating and she may in time be ready to open up to you about what upset her.

Our Lady is the perfect prototype of what women should be…in and through Christ. So I think it is an appropriate answer to the question. The multitude of women saints in heaven reflect the feminine glory of Mary. All women should strive for that. That’s what God wants for them. 🙂
 
Men and women are equal in dignity but different in function. This used to be a commonly held position. Now it’s “there are no men and women, only the gender one chooses”. Sorry to be snarky.
