One or two beers with friends on Tuesday nights. A glass of wine once or twice a month.

I do not have more than two drinks in a day, but I don’t think drinking more than that is necessarily sinful under certain circumstances. By more, I mean enough that you are feeling it and could be considered intoxicated. This could only apply to occasions where there is neither physical danger to anyone, nor the near occasion of sin.
I think getting intoxicated is more the point of when you are sinning/close to sinning than the number of drinks that you have. Everyone handles alcohol differently. Also, different types of alcohol affect people differently. I can easily drink 5-6 beers without feeling any effects. There are some that will feel those effects after a single drink.

I don’t drink enough.
😃

nothing better than a ice cold beer (or two) on a hot, humid summer day after cutting 40 acres of hay, or baling 40 acres of hay, or loading and stacking bales of hay. Beer and hay go together.

I’m part German, part Irish. Put them together and what do you come up with? A lush. I only drink on days ending in “y” 😛

I used to have a drink, anything from a glass of wine to a very stong mixed drink, once a month or even less frequently than that. I’ve recently had surgery and I can no longer imbibe. It’s no big loss for me.

A couple of glasses of wine, or a mixed drink a few days of the week. Depending upon my schedule and if I have a really, really early morning or heavy work load the next day.

Every other week, and more often during the summer, I enjoy a few drinks with friends or family. Usually its beer or cider, although I sometimes drink gin and tonic, or a couple straight shots of Wray and Nephew. During Christmas my aunties a spicy, bitter-tasting drink made of sorrel (dried hibiscus flowers) and ginger; the kids drink it virgin, while the adults take it with wine. Occasionally I do stretch my limit, though never to excess.

Wine with a restaurant dinner, and at a fancy home dinner couple of times a month. Maybe wine and cheese at home twice a month. Rarely, an after-dinner drink at a restaurant, maybe once or twice a year. Pre-dinner cocktails on vacation. Otherwise, that POP sound coming from the kitchen is a can of Diet Coke. Probably average one beer a month.

I drink either wine or hard cider maybe once a month, or less. On the occasions that I do consume, it is usually a celebration or social gathering, and I usually have two drinks on those times. Rarely, I will sip a small glass of wine as I cook and eat dinner, and I might actually finish the small glass if I continue to drink it as I tidy up after the meal. It is not a matter of discipline for me, really, because I am so often preggo, nursing, or working on losing the baby weight that alcohol consumption is just not prudent. 🙂

On a regular basis I might have a glass or two of wine or beer once every two weeks with dinner. I prefer mixed drinks but France isn’t big on them so it’s hard to get decent ones unless I go to Paris. Every now and then I’ll have some bourbon (straight).

At parish/diocesan/seminary functions I limit myself to, at most, one drink every two hours. I’m not a big person (in most countries I’m legally drunk after a single drink) so I really have to watch it. No one wants to see the sacristan three sheets to the wind. :whacky:

Wine with dinner, a couple of times a month.

A mixed drink when I go to Outback.

And some wine, when I go to a paint and wine studio.

I used to make my own wine, it had about 14% abv, it gave me about 35 litres which is about 10 gallons.

It usually sufficed me for about 6 weeks:)

But nowadays i only drink non-alcoholic beers

Interesting replies. I really thought that there would be more who did not partake.

Sundays during NASCAR or NFL, or Monday Night Football, or MLB… the beer never stops. Wed. for tailgating during League, a shot of single malt scotch. plus beer. three martini lunches on Friday. posting on this board, a double scotch.

Well we are all catholics, and you know catholics and alcohol 😃
You know, that was a stumbling block for me when I first became Catholic. I came from a family of teetotalers & didn’t start drinking until I left Protestantism. I went overboard on the drinking for a while. Then I quit drinking & not long after became a Catholic. For quite a while I associated drinking with drunkeness. As my circle of Catholic friends became wider, I found out you could drink socially - that was quite a revelation to me!

I drink maybe… 10 times a year. Anywhere from 1-8 drinks at a time.
