WE SHOULD FOLLOW THE TEACHINGS OF CHRIST .
So, no,on this I do not agree with the teachings of the Church,I believe in using my logic, reason.
I would strongly suggest re-reading Matthew 15:31-32. Then because obviously you do not have the grasp on the Bible that you think you do since it was Christ Himself that abolished divorce and remarriage except in cases where the marriage was unlawful. It is this where the marriage was unlawful that is examined in cases of decrees of nullity. And yes I am living my vows and will live my vows until I receive my decree of nullity or one of us dies. I am sorry you left the Church - but my question is why did you not try for a decree of nullity? Or did you just not receive one?Fides et Ratio (Latin: faith and reason) is an encyclical promulgated by Pope John Paul II on 14 September 1998. It deals primarily with the relationship between faith and reason.
The Pope posits that faith and reason are not only compatible, but essential together. Faith without reason, he argues, leads to superstition. Reason without faith, he argues, leads to nihilism and relativism.<<<
Not only when it suits!!! or “made to measure”
Christ’s Church is not Burger King - we can’t always have it our way. This does not always make people happy. It is as one of my friends said when she found out after remarriage that she needed to have a decree of nullity for her first marriage. (She had spent 25 years away from the Church) Being Catholic is not easy - if we want it easy we should be Protestant.
It does put a whole new slant on our Baptismal/Confirmation promises now, doesn’t it?
