I won’t spend a second of time watching someone who runs a regime where opposition politicians and critics of the regime are found dead. Among an endless litany of incidences that can be mentioned, saying he considered using nuclear weapons, funding rebels and really an invasion of a more Christian nation in Ukraine.

Maybe there are videos of other personalities I should put stock in. Perhaps some dictator in the 1930s.

Because I was asking because I find it very offensive that one would allege such a person knows what is really going on; just like I think some would find it offensive if one said, here’s the author of Mein Kampf, he really knows what is going on.

That is why I asked what he talked about then!

I wasn’t the one who brought in someone totally unrelated to this situation and thread with this claim about someone knowing what really happened. Let alone, most experts will tell you, even Chris Cristie said during the debate, who the Russians are backing is a regime human rights monitors would assert have killed 250,000 people.

I say “unrelated” and yes, he may have commented on it, I’m sure, I can find 1000s of people that have commented on Syria.

By the way, one should also we bsearch “civilians” to keep up with the news just in the past few days…or web search “barrel bombs”.

Just saw it, great movie. Thought our American heroes did well and that I’d get this older thread back up. Yes, I have heard there is so-so success at the box office.

I heard they were trying to downplay the box office numbers trying to discourage people to see the movie. “They” being those that don’t want the American people to see what really happened. I applaud Michael Bay for making this movie of the events that took place…

Glad you got a chance to see it. How would they have explained away a higher death toll if no one would have survived?

I saw this a couple of days ago, expecting it to be a brainless shoot 'em or else we’re dead military movie, but I was pleasantly surprised.

That evening I went online to learn more about the Benghazi event through the actual contracted Marines/Seals/Rangers that experienced it, and as they said it’s an apolitcal movie. It’s just scenarios - not exaggerated or dishonestly told to create drama for drama’s sake - told through their eyes via movie format without pointing fingers on who to blame.

I’m currently listening to the soundtrack of Zero Dark Thirty, and with the help of that I do recommend 13 Hours: The Secrets Soldiers of Benghazi.

Directed the guy who made “Transformers”? Um, no, thanks. Apparently, this movie is tanking at the box office really bad. “Bad Grandpa” is doing better. “Ride Along 2” is doing better.

The average American moviegoer has never heard of Benghazi, nor are they aware that it was investigated by Congress (repeatedly, as a matter of fact) and there’s no “there” there. If there’s no “there” there, that doesn’t make for a good movie.

I may like it, I may not. I have no interest in seeing Ride Along 2 so I didn’t pay to see it; I had enough interest to pay for a ticket for 13H:SSoB so I saw it.

Plus, your “there there” fails. Just because Congress found “nothing” doesn’t mean there’s no “there.” Are you implying that the movie is making a mole hill out of nothing? Apparently there’s a “there” according to the people who experienced it aka the contracted soldiers who experienced it.

And who are you to say that it’s not a good movie based on what you’ve written? From my perspective you don’t have an argument because you refuse to see it in the first place.

Yes, I agree, the US is just more sneaky/ manipulative, and has a more convincing media than some other countries, they know a certain percentage of people are always going to believe everything they hear on the mainstream media, so they use that to their advantage.

Im pretty much convinced, in the US we only hear what ‘news’ we are meant to hear.

Well said. I am glad you got to see the movie. I almost didn’t see it, but I was also pleasantly surprised what a good movie it was and I was very glad I saw it although it was not easy to watch.

Politics depress me. Am I the only one that questions the time of this picture’s release? What if the main charechtors had been Trump or another person of the right? Things might look a tad different then.
