Does this actually enrage anyone that doesn’t already dislike Trump? I don’t see any evangelicals or Catholic supporters of Trump saying this is a bridge too far. Isn’t it just more of the same?
 
I would be more concerned why this sort of Antiochus Epiphanes move is not more offensive to those who follow him and the Jesus he jokingly(?) usurps. Maybe he really could shoot someone in the street in broad daylight and keep his following.

Yes, in context, he is saying no one else is taking the tough steps to confront China, so it’s up to me, it’s been up to Trump to deal with situations that his predecessors left behind, whatever it may be, North Korea and so on, dealing with ISIS. That’s all he was saying, it’s up to him, one can tremble if some people, either party get back into power with what they have left our country with imo. I mean they are good people but we don’t need some of the things they leave behind.
 
The comedy isn’t constant,only when levity is necessary.This is usually when the left has their panties in a twist

Correct. The hate-Trumpers took it out of context to make it seem like something it wasn’t. Here’s what he said:

"“This isn’t my trade war, this is a trade war that should have taken place a long time ago,” Trump told reporters outside the White House.

“Somebody had to do it,” the president said. He added, while looking to the heavens: “I am the Chosen One.” (Looking up to heaven and the addition of Capitals put in by the hostile writer, of course)

Trump continued: “Somebody had to do it, so I’m taking on China. I’m taking on China on trade, and you know what? We’re winning.”

“I was put here by people,” the president said. “I was put here by people to do a great job. And that’s what I’m doing.”

Clearly, a person “put here by people” is not saying he was “Chosen by God”.

It’s the usual liberal misrepresentation. But then, they have to resort to childish stuff like this because they can’t really fault him on anything that matters and don’t want to admit that their real problem with him is his following the prolife agenda.
 
I would hate to defend this type of behavior so I’ll give you credit for that, RR.

That said, was the Pope that far off when he questioned Trump’s Christianity before Trump called it “disgraceful”?

There’s an old saying “many a true word spoken in jest”. The organisation that runs the annual national prayer breakfast, the ‘Fellowship’, groom politicians to believe that they are ‘chosen’ by God to lead and that they are unaccountable to anyone for how they do it. Unfortunately that has dangerous legs when there’s a whole swag of the community that refuses to call these people to account regardless of any moral cause to do so for the sake of the common good.

I’m sure he wasn’t joking. I don’t doubt he really meant he was chosen by the people to get serious in renegotiating U.S. trade with China. That’s what he actually said, not what the Democrats are trying to make of it. But since they have nothing but grade-school level remarks with which to challenge him, I understand why they’re doing it.

I think President Trump sees other things than just trade with China. We have our economy based on their production and imports to our nation.

Reports are coming in that 1.5 to 3 million people of Uyghur population in China has been placed into “Xinjiang re-education camps”, otherwise known as internment camps. We are not in any position to do anything in regards to this injustice.

Hard to know. It might be possible to learn what export products are made with their slave labor and ban them altogether. China is about security for the party and money. They will probably intern just as many Uighurs as before, but at least it won’t be profitable if we do.

Or is this another assertion from you that is based on your feelings (nothing wrong with feelings by the way)?
