Let it go already. Or as my mother used to tell me, offer the hurt you feel up for the poor souls in Purgatory

Well, if you call his opposition to Alabama’s complete ban on abortions acting in a prolife way, then we’re not getting anywhere.
Did he do anything to stop it? No he didn’t. He can have an opinion, but unless and until he actually promotes abortion like the Democrats do almost without exception, he’s preferable to any of them since the only prolife Democrat in national office isn’t running.

Not enough. It’s morally incumbent on us to oppose killing of innocent lives and the party that promotes it, not only to pray for its victims.

What? He’s been all over the place on this. First he verbally expressed full support for women’s choice all the way to birth, then someone gave him a list of judges to appoint, then he opposes a full ban. Whatever he needs to do to keep his base, of course.

It will be interesting to hear SC ruling on the Alabama’s new law if that happens.

I don’t know what’s in his heart any more than you do, and I don’t much care. As long as he continues to support prolife judges, defund Planned Parenthood, refrain from harassing Catholic organizations like the Little Sisters, keep the Mexico City Policy, and not “change my religion” to accommodate abortion, then he’s prolife enough for me,

But there’s only one known prolife Democrat of any standing, but he’s not running, and the Dems have put up a pro-abortion candidate to primary him. All the Democrats running for president are pro-abortion.

What party is Rauner?
Oh, you’re proud of some Republican pro-abortionist? They exist, unfortunately. So Illinois has one pro-abortion Repub governor and one prolife Dem congressman.

Outliers. Especially Lipinski. But the Dems are running pro-abortion primary candidates against him, so he might be the very last prolife Dem in congress.

That’s not the way she put it. She said half of the Trump supporters are deplorable, xenophobic, etc. She did not condition the epithet “deplorable” on their being xenophobic, etc.
You are dead wrong about that. She talked of the basked of deplorable, then delineated what that meant - sexist, racist, Islamophobia, homophone. The meaning was crystal clear form her words.
She said the following:
You know better that that.
You are truncating so much that you miss the context and obscure the point:
Yes, we’ve nearly closed the global gender gap in primary school, but secondary school remains out of reach for so many girls around the world. Yes, we’ve increased the number of countries prohibiting domestic violence, but still more than half the nations in the world have no such laws on the books, and an estimated one in three women still experience violence. Yes, we’ve cut the mortality rate in half, but far too many women are still denied critical access to reproductive health care and safe childbirth. …
You left out that she was specifically talking of education of girls around the world.
You left out that she was specifically talking about laws that allow domestic violence.
You left that that she was specifically talking about maternal mortality rates.

And, whatever your referenced source is, how on earth can “safe childbirth” be construed to be a “euphemism for abortion”.
Her meaning could not have been more plain.
I agree. But what amazes me is how willing people seem to try to change the plain meaning by slicing out contextually critical content, and by forcing hawking absurd interpretations - including the amazingly absurd assimilation of “safe childbirth” and “abortion” .

Excellent post!Spot on!You have just exposed exactly why the Dems and RINO despise Trump.Their gig is up🙌
How do you account for the vast numbers of Republicans (with traditional republican spirit) who publicly denounce Trump? How also do you account for the conservative leaders around the world who reject him as a true conservative?

Those RINO’s that resist all things Trump, are nothing but beltway elitists who resent a political outsider having the nerve to win the presidency. In reality these politicians stick together dems Republicans, some differences but in the end keeping the status quo is what matters most to them .Trump upset the apple cart,is clearing out the swamp and the voters’ who support him appreciate his efforts.

I daresay many of his followers will justify anything he does until they die. We saw that happen with Hitler. Even to this day he has his blind followers.
An unjustified assertion entirely, and the Hitler reference is inappropriate.

What’s the number? You surely wouldn’t claim it’s “vast” without knowing the number.

I’m a registered Republican, but if that now means I have to bow and pay homage to Trump almighty, then I will be defecting from that party. That’s one thing I will never do.

Your attitude demonstrates what this thread is all about. A shift in polarity away from traditional democratic principles that respect the place of 2 party politics in maintaining peace and diplomacy, towards this idea that some are just ‘chosen’ by ‘God’ for leadership without accountability to ‘the people’ or the common good. Putting Trump on a pedestal where he can do nothing wrong and that the only poles now reflect Trump against anyone of any colour that opposes him, is foolishness in the extreme.

You are clearly projecting your opinions into my comments.I really don’t know where you came up with this.
Trump is a reaction to the status quo. Thirteen candidates and he was the last man standing. The aggressive ideology of the left that have high jacked the dems was so frightening and HC taking off the mask and exposing her pro abortion stance to the extent of killing a baby moments before birth made even a lot of pro choice people cringe.
There was not one of those 13 outside of Trump who could have beaten the corrupt HC machine.

Trump said he was put there by the people in that very quote you use to allege that he claimed to have been sent by God. Nor do any of his supporters claim he was “sent by God” other than to the extent that God ordains all things.

Nobody says he does nothing wrong either. Funny how it is. The detractors of his supporters claim his supporters say he “can do no wrong”, but then they enjoy saying this Republican or that one disagrees with him or doesn’t support him in this or that. Trump wasn’t my first choice or my second in the primary, but I voted for him in the general. But I also disagree with him regarding the draw down in Syria. I would also like to see him put the Afghanistan effort into rebuilding the Northern Alliance or at least heavily arming the Tajiks, then get out. But he doesn’t seem to want to do that.

Trump didn’t disrupt two party politics. The Dems did that when they essentially threw all prolife people out of the party. Then they exacerbated it by embracing sexual perversion and failing to condemn anti-Semitism. And it appears they tried to use law enforcement to destroy political opponents. For that alone, they should be condemned openly and punished severely at the ballot box.
