I thank God for this Pope every single day.

May Pope Francis be for the Church of the next 50 years that same sense of extraordinary gift that were Pope Saint John XXIII and the Blessed Pope Paul VI.
May the Church of the next 50 years receive the same sense of extraordinary gift that were Pope Saint John Paul II and Pope Benedict XVI.

:rotfl:
Way to end a wonderful day!!
Loved it! Thanks!!
Weave a song of peace and justice;
let it sound through time and space.

Let us bring the gifts that differ
and, in splendid, varied ways,
sing a new Church into being,
one in faith and love and praise.

Neat…🙂

I must wonder why the Holy Father must constantly single out conservative Catholics. Perhaps that is why He seems to be opening a path to regularization for the SSPX. To give those who choose to adhere to the entire 2000 + years of tradition a home.
Many do not wish to talk about it, but there is a schism in the Church. Just as devisive and sharply delineated as in the US body politic. Hopefully a path may be found where we can at least live in harmony, but i have my doubts.
The past 50 years has been tough to watch. I fear the next several decades will be much worse.

DOn’t forget the greatest of them all St. John Paul II and our most awesome Pope Emeritus Benedict the XVI

Amen.

Many of us are also praying psalm 55 but for very different reasons.

Let me be crystal clear. I chose and I named Pope Saint John XXIII and Blessed Pope Paul VI for very specific reason.

I do not think your selection is coincidental that the former called Vatican II and the second closed it.

That does not exhaust the reasons…but you are right…it is hardly a coincidence.

● Do not clericalize the laity. May the aspiration of your members be not to become part of the Sanhedrin of parishes that surround the pastor, but rather passion for the kingdom. Do not forget, though, to pose the vocational theme seriously. The school of holiness that passes necessarily by way of the discovery of one’s own vocation is that of being not a manager or a diplomat priest, but rather, first and foremost, an evangelizer.

Can someone translate this? I think its saying something about not making laypersons in ‘pastoral ministries’ elevated to some kind of quasi-clerical role. Am I reading this right? I’ve seen this in many American Latin Rite parishes, with both “liturgical extraordinary ministers” and “pastoral associates” and the like.

As is entirely your prerogative, Father, for two great Popes. I likewise chose Pope St. John Paul II and Pope Benedict XVI for very specific reasons. May God in His grace guide and bless us all.

Not the least of which is that those two demonstrated how the Church is to live out the teachings and the promise of Vatican II. 👍
