How about (for number 11):

And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. But feel free to start 30,000 other churches teaching contradictory doctrines if you don’t like mine.
😉
I like number 11. 😃

Then again, it doesn’t say, “Worship Mary as you would worship Me”, either.

It does, however, say, “You shall not bear false witness.” You may want to review that particular Commandment.

I mean that when you accuse Catholics of worshipping Mary as they worship God, you commit a mortal sin.
I haven’t accused anyone of anything. I simply pointed out that the passage isn’t in the bible. Only those who wish it were but don’t want to/can’t publicly admit that would react as you have.

(the tenor of the list is “if the shoe fits…” No accusations being made at all.)

It is cowardly to be passive-aggressive. Let your yes mean yes and your no mean no; anything else is of the Devil. I have seen your blasphemous posts on other threads as well.

Perhaps Muze should have said something that was debated for centuries, by all, including Catholics,“All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God ,except for Mary”.Augustine may have been the first to admit this exception. That is,he cites this scripture, or one like it ,don’t remember, when speaking about Mary and her exception.Others before may have said written it (Mary sinless) but not cite scripture to the contrary or that must be exceptionalized as Augustine did.

How about , “Behold, Mary is with you always” ? Please don’t be offended,it is a question but may I say people, not CC, but people speak of Mary in terms that other people speak of the Holy Spirit, such as "she spoke to me, she led me, she carried me, lifted me, comforted me, ever present with me etc etc. What churches teach is one thing but what people do, are allowed to do,what is tolerated is another thing. So I am with you in straightening out people who wrongly say the CC teaches Mary worship. They do not but…

Bwahaa, this is ridiculous and obviously written by a radical right person who may be self centered, selfish, and could care less if others live or die as long as he does not have to spend a cent of HIS money.
Yes! Another Orthodox Christian who sees through the “Right”. I thought maybe I was the only one. Good to see you here, brother. 🙂

I think that a good portion of the issue is how the Church defines “worship” as opposed to how most protestants define the term. My understanding is that latria - worship due to God alone - is expressed through the Sacrifice of the Mass. We might speak of Mary in glowing terms, sing hymns to her, pray to her, and thank her for her help, but I’ve yet to see any evidence that suggests we offer sacrifice to her. That is reserved to God. For many protestants - especially those of a “low-church” branch - worship is the singing of hymns, prayer, etc because of the way that Luther, Calvin, Zwingli, et al deemphasized the sacrificial nature of worship.

As a side note, this isn’t to say that each Mass is a new sacrifice offered to God. The Church teaches that each Mass makes the Sacrifice of Our Lord on Calvary present in an unbloody fashion - not repeating it or acting as a symbol of it, but making it actually present.

Muze, you have some good ones, but you have your political leanings too:
  • “forcibly take money” – a code word for anti-tax politics.
  • “For I was hungry and you sent me to the government” – pro-charity or anti-welfare?
  • “Thou shalt send thy father and they mother to a government bureaucrat” – as above
  • “Thou shalt not bear false witness except when trying to put down those rascally republicans” – Got plank?
Just to let it out of the closet I’m anti-welfare.

I see the humour, but doesn’t the Catholic church routinely get criticised for having teachings that aren’t in the Bible? 🤷

" No one can get to heaven unless by Mary,as through a door". St.Bonaventure

“(Mary)Thou art the gate through which we all find Jesus, through thee I also hope to find Him”.
