Shin, I used to be ‘afraid’ of sharing … of being called crazy or fanatical. But then I realised it would be worse for me to stay silent.

Amazingly most of those I shared this with were open to it and even asked me for further help. In the beginning I began burning CDs to give to those who weren’t comfortable using the computer. Now I’ve begun burning CDs to give away.

I want to share something peculiar. One of my friends with extreme paranormal problems tried to play the CD at home (I gave her TWO copies in case one didn’t work). She had two PCs, one laptop and one netbook at home. None would play the CD. But they could play other CDs. She tried downloading the files from Mediafire… the internet connection suddenly wouldn’t work. Desperate, she went out to the garage and played the CD in her car. Her husband called the internet company technician. They spent several hours checking all the wires and connections. Poor technician couldn’t figure out what was wrong.

Then this friend of mine (previously a sceptic) remembered she had an old CD player f!rom university days. She dug around in her store room and found it. Then she told me she felt really ‘stupid’ but she made the sign of the cross on the player with holy oil. Guess what? Although it had been neglected for almost twenty years, the CD player played the CD of prayers with no problem at all!

This friend is now a total believer… after a few months of battling (she pulled out all the stops! Priest blessing, holy salt, group prayers, daily rosary, holy water!), she is now much happier and grows daily in faith.

OT : When I began posting in this forum last night, the hair on my forearms and the back of my neck were standing on end. I don’t know why but I’m kinda getting used to that by now and it usually means I must continue sharing. If even only ONE person reads this and begins saying the St Bridget prayers, I’ll be ecstatic! FYI, I pray these prayers with the rosary daily.

I have been praying the 15 prayers of St Bridget from 11/2/2010. Today I (7/1/11) I forgot to pray them. I was out with friends and didn’t get back till after 12 on 7/1/11. I said them on 7/2/11 at 1 am. My question is this. Do I have to start over from this date and lose what I have done?

I’m no Canon Lawyer, but: one must ask, When does a ‘day’ begin and end? What happened begore everybody had their own clocks and watches? My own personal attitude would be to take seriously the maxim ‘In case of doubt, the law is to be interpreted in the favour of the person for whom it is intended’. I keep the Friday abstinence, although with the current confusions and discrepancies I don’t see how one could maintain that it is still binding under Mortal sin. Now I’m usually a little hungry by bedtime Friday, but if I’m still up past 12 midnight I won’t (as the old saying went) seize a slab of steak out of the fridge and eat it raw: I deem the ‘day’ over when I go up to bed, and keep up the abstinence till the morning. Similarly, for prayers with a stipulation to be prayed ‘every day’ I’d try to keep it to the ‘clock’ day, on the safe side, yet if I missed it I’d say them before retiring for the night and throw myself on God’s Mercy. Yet if still troubled, I’d begin again. After all, part of the whole idea is to establish habits of prayer. I’m saying the 12-year prayer, but hope after the 12 years ore up to be able to say them for the rest of my lifetime, if The Man Above lets me keep what wits I have…

Thanks for getting back to me on this. I just about made up my mind to start over again. I gotten to where I enjoy praying the 15 prayers and look forward to it everyday.

Hi CaptVic,

From what I understand, the idea is to say it 366 times a year or 5475 prayers to honour the 5475 wounds/blows Jesus received on His Body as revealed to St Bridget of Sweden.

So as long as you say the 15 Prayers 366 times in a year, you would be okay.

Dont let the devil stop you saying these prayers. You are finding lies about them online. These prayers are the best thing you can do for yourself and your family. They are a gift from God, another offering that we dont deserve. If you think its too good to be true, say them every day and see how easy it isnt.

God bless

Maybe this will help!

The promises come thru a Saint and the Prayers are really good as to their content.

I’m no theologian nor very educated formally so take what I write with a ‘grain of salt’, season it to your liking if you so desire.
I have had the privedledge and blessing to teach Catholicism for over 25 years, closer to 30.
I have said the 15 prayers for a year on two seperate years and many years apart(15 give or take a few), each time starting during lent and enduring (for want of a better word) the year.
The second time I was much more attentive to the wording of the prayers themselves and as promises are dependent upon performance I felt free to not concern myself that promises are attached or even what these promises might be as the saying of prayers is always good and learning of why Jesus suffered in readily explained in the content of the prayers.

FYI I have read over the years much from other Saints writings and have seen instances where that which Jesus says to one is in conformity to what He says to another and even apparent in the English translations from different languages.

Say the Prayers or don’t, but if you think that you will be less closer to God by saying them I would think this is not a good type of reasoning.
If the Promises are your hold back the tear off, figuratively, the part which lists them and say them anyway, letting Jesus do his part after He helps you do yours.

I am suffering greatly and am reading these prayers every day. I screwed up this life and I don’t want to screw up eternity. A deal is a deal. I fully expect Jesus to come through on these promises if I say these prayers without missing a day and I say them with all my heart so I can comprehend his suffering as much as possible and thus appreciate his love in light of such suffering. After a year of these I will love my enemies more than I do now and will be better able to love as Jesus did. I will not let Jesus down and he will not let me down. I am loyal, respectful, honest, humble. I fear displeasing Jesus but am not shy to ask that he spare me from the extreme pain I am suffering. Thank you for these prayers - I cherish them and will find peace by praying them. I wish the best to all here.

From personal experience,I endorse completely.

Yes, bear up, my friend. ‘He who perseveres to the end will be saved’. And remember the parable of the Pharisee and the publican.

Thanks for your reply. My health is returning very slowly after 14 months of agony. Knee surgery was 8 months ago. The pain is going down and hopefully I can work so I don’t loose my house. That would kill me. My kids are so happy in the community we live. I think much agony lies ahead. The toughest part about saying the prayers is my wife rejects religion and is an agnostic so I must pray them in secret. She lost two siblings to leukemia and was brought up in a Christian church and community where people appeared to be hypocrites to her. She does not respond to the rationality of Medjugorje which I believe is the strongest evidence for Jesus Christ. I’ve put her through Hell. I should have a good job but she is making the money. This message board is good for support as I feel very alone in my physical, spiritual, and emotional pain. My parish priest wasn’t much help.

I understand your point about misinformation regarding the prayers. Wherever Jesus is the devil is there to create confusion and uncertainty. Thanks again for your response.

think–outside your box and not outside of grace.

these prayers were revealed to St. Bridgit several hundred years ago and the promises come as a package deal.
I have been watching persons discuss/argue over whether God can/will/should Honor his end of the promises by what the wording of the Promises promise.

Maybe one should not narrow God’s grace to others by what seem to be perceived blocks to HOW or IF or any one of a number of imagined (or real) rules or dogma (substitute Your objection here) concerns.

If a Promise made to a Saint and sanctioned by the Catholic Church thru our duly ordained representative’s doesn’t give credibility to the end results promised, then maybe those with objections should evaluate their faith in the whole of their acceptance of truth in light of the promised teachers free of error that Catholics rely upon and start relying on our Holy Church blindly.

If my faith that God can deliver in His Mercy as stated in the Promises is wrong than I’d rather be wrong believing that God can deliver instead of being wrong that He can’t or won’t (here substitute what you believe is the block–especially WHY) as some seem to do.

Persevere in the saying of the prayers and meditate on what they reveal and teach, because that is our part and a great mercy in itself.

Give God a break and let His Mercy work while we “…fill up those things that are wanting of the sufferings of Christ, … for his body, which is the church…” Col 1:24.

Any objections then P-P-Please don’t look up the 12 YEAR prayers by the same Saint.

I can see you are corresponding to grace and persevering in praying St Bridget’s Prayers.

I’ve Said the Prayers twice many years apart and the second time I noticed what They teach as to what the events in Christ’s sufferings were for.

Also, after about 6 months or so You can practice and have them committed to memory because from repetition you will know what you will be saying next I did it twice. Oh, it was not easier the second time, still took long but is surely worth it. Printed some fine print cheat papers about the size of a credit card and kept them in my wallet, (still have one there) I’ll try to remember to pray for your perseverance in prayer and suffering.
Consider reading “The Way of Divine Love” by St Josefa Menendez and/or the diary of St Faustina as to the benefits of personal suffering it is (not was) a great help to me.

To everyone who asks “do I pray from this date to this” and about the “day” in which the prayers are to be said: just pray them every day. You don’t have to pray them for a year. You can pray them longer! They’re all beautiful prayers, so why would you mind praying them a few months longer? Thinking about when you’re going to be “released” from praying them may sound like you’re concentrating a bit too much on its rewards.

On another matter, does anyone have something to say about the 7 prayers to St. Bridget (the ones that should be prayed for 12 years), I’m praying them for a few months already.

I too have recently began the Twelve Years Prayers, began October 2012, and at 59 really consider that I might never reach 12 years.

My consideration is the return to the sacraments of two fallen away friends (now I’m talking 30 and more years away) really exceptional as individuals as they are to me anyway.

I’ve almost got the prayers committed to memory and still don’t find it easier to remember to pray them every day. However I’m letting God do what He will, with me in need of the regiment in MY life.

that being said–I started out by noticing the information contained in the Prayers themselves is so appropriate in todays world that it is needed by us to remember to pray that others may also know God as God knows Himself.
My cheat sheet was prefaced with two short prayers to the Holy Spirit by an Arab Mystic who died in the late 1800’s, Miriam, and someone tore just those prayers from cheat sheet so I guess we can never tell what our efforts are for.

Thanks for the answer! Even if the promises of the prayers are far from true, the prayers themselves are beautiful and useful for one’s soul.

And don’t worry about being too old, my booklet says that Jesus promised st. Bridget that, if a person who had the honest intention of praying them for 12 years died before praying them for 12 years, He’d still keep the prayers’ promises.

Yes this is very good advice, keep praying the prayers after you’ve finished the time to pray them. It’s a virtuous habit you do not wish to lose, these prayers are beautiful and good for one’s whole life. 🙂

CAN THE 15 PRAYERS OF ST. BRIDGET CAN BE PRAYED SILENTLY OR ONLY VERBALLY?Chaplet of Devine Mercy at church during adoration. On the way in I noticed one of those blue pieta prayerbooks, and as I was thumbing through it I came upon The Fifteen Prayers of St. Bridget. Also with those 15 prayers come certain promises.

I am not sure if i am in the right forum… its been forever since I posted on my account, but I have some questions. First of all, to me, even saying these prayers sincerly, give me the impression of working towards gaining favor to be received into heaven. Not that the prayers are bad, but its almost like do this, and you automatically gain the promises and

Second, looking at the first 3 and number 15:
  1. I will deliver 15 souls of his lineage from Purgatory.
  2. 15 souls of his lineage will be confirmed and preserved in grace.
  3. 15 sinners of his lineage will be converted.
  4. His soul will be delivered from eternal death.
Wouldn’t it require the persons of lineage to actually accept his grace, I mean by the way it sounds like above, its automatic. Like, how could one person, pray and get favor with god and then save 15 so
