Iâm not championing anything so therefore Iâm not âyou guysâ. Husbands who beat their wives arenât following Godâs Word. Period. Youâre talking in circles. You started this conversation condemning these men who you witnessed doing this, now youâre defending them? I think youâre just plain confused at this point.Yet you guys champion my country as a Catholic voice in an otherwise pagan-secular corner of Asia.![]()
It must be very frustrating to you that people donât consult you and decide to listen to God instead. You sound very upset about that. Like I said before. I donât know about Jim Bob, but Iâm friends with a great many large families, and they are happy, the father is involved, and the mother doesnât feel burdened. You donât like it? They donât care.Only if they removed themselves from my conference rooms. You really think itâs so irrelevant? You know it says a lot that I donât see a lot of parents with large families where I work (if at all). Because really, I donât see how you can have that many kids and not have it interfere with a job that requires full-time attendance. Heck, Jim Bob only started having kids after setting himself up with enough money to invest in that large family. And even then, heâs no Warren Buffett. Really telling. That.
I was genuinely curious, so put down your dukes.Youâre the one who asked if I lived in a third world country all my life. I donât know about you but we donât like it when people question the truth of where we came from.
Back up your claims. Tell me what he kept personally for himself. He begged for the poor, and since there was no real middle class in St. Francisâs day, who else would he beg from? Would it make sense to you, if he begged for the poor from the poor? Come on nowâŚNothing? Yeah, read up on his life after he established his order. Please do not tell me his life was so simple then. He traveled extensively and met with royalty. Yeah. Thatâs a beggar all right. For someone many people champion as a man wholly sustained by divine providence, much of that providence took in the form of people wealthier and more influential than he was.
Okay, well what about you? Have you or your siblings made history? You had a smaller family than his, however you have more modern means and faster ways of communication at your fingertips. If not, than you were brought up, in your words, in a hive mentality in a smaller family with not even ONE person attaining greatness.Right, and the fact that you didnât witness means you can claim the exact opposite? Thatâs my point! Itâs rather sad that out of all those children, Ben Franklin was the only one who really made history. Thatâs what I mean about being lost in a hive. Thatâs what it means when I say that when you live in a life as crowded and anti-independent as that, you losing anything that could take you to the same level of greatness. If you ask me, I find it more saddening that these people didnât get to share in Benâs spotlight. Surely, being human beings, they deserved their own moment?![]()
Iâve stated repeatedly that Iâm not a fan of the Duggarâs. You are the one that keeps bringing them up. Just because I believe in a coupleâs right to discern how big their family should be, under the guidance of God, does not mean I feel everyone should have a large family. I do believe that everyone should discern, but if there is a serious reason to postpone pregnancy, than they should do so. Would you like for me to reference the many places in which I said so? You on the other hand, believe in a contraceptive mindset which is against Church Teaching. When said couple have fans like you who act like theyâre the ideal and think all of humanity should follow suit.
Of course, you would believe that. That is coming from someone who believes kids shouldnât resort to hand me downs, that St. Francis was a rich guy in poor manâs clothing, and that every large family on earth is as poor as those in third-world countries.Seeing the kind of resources needed to just raise one kid, I would say a spade is a spade.
So in your mind everyone is either dirt poor or insanely rich?Right, get back to me when you find a family like the Duggars but they live like the Hiltons.![]()
Who says they want to live like the Hiltonâs? Maybe they are happy where theyâre at, and with what they have.
