A nomination.
So Santorum or Gingrich or Paul would have won it? I like all 3 of these statesmen but I don’t think they would have won it. Admittedly Romney had the money. Oh well, he would have created jobs, government waste at a minimum. But that’s fine, we agree to disagree.

To the True Believers, facts don’t matter. Only feelings.
‘True Believer’? Why do you have to keep insulting me?

And I gave specific reasons and issues and you are telling a lie to say I am simply being emotional.

Is that the kind of poster you are? Please consider that just because I am not a Republican I am not dehumanized by failing to vote a straight party ticket.

You mean ‘election myth’.

IT is also funny that partisan supporters always argue that a vote for third parties is a loss for votes for THEIR candidate.

Maybe my vote for the Greens was a loss of a vote for Obama instead of Romney?

😃 There was no way on Gods Green Earth I will EVER vote for Romney. Not in 2008, 2012, or 2016. Period.** I would far rather vote for a third Obama term before I would vote for Romney.
**

No, Obama is not what I wanted. You don’t seem to read English very well.
So you would vote for a man that voted against the Born Alive Infant Protection Act, BAIPA, i.e. Infanticide 3 times. You would rather that man, Obama win?? Okay, case closed. We see where your views are.

Given the right balance in a good VP pick, I think they had a better chance of winning the general election where the GOP nominee would not be able to outspend their opponent by 7-1.

Yes, we disagree. While Romney might have created more jobs, I doubt he would have improved the lot of the mid and upper middle class and would have grown the low income middle class with cheap burger flipping type jobs.

But the whole problem with Romney was that he couldn’t be trusted, IMO. He would say whatever it took to get elected. So who really knows what he would have done in office?

I would far rather vote for a third Obama term before I would vote for Romney.
.
That about sums it up. Obama is for partial birth abortion. He was in the pocket of the abortion lobby. But you would rather vote for his 3rd term than vote for Romney. I would say that such a position seems not to be based on calm rational thought, but on emotion and hatred (?). Luckily I think those who fit this description are pretty small in number so as to be inconsequential. I am sad to see you make that statement.

You’re not thinking straight. Your opinions are based on falsehoods and half truths. I am not lying - I believe that a Catholic who claims to be conservative on social issues would vote for a 3rd Obama term instead of Romney to be emotional at best. At worst, something else.

It isn’t emotion or hatred for the following reasons…
  1. I have never voted for Obama and never would. In the actual election I voted third party as I have repeatedly stated.
  2. Were I forced to choose between Obama and Romney I would hold my nose and vote Obama because they are about the same in the policies and win-at-all-cost amoralism, but with 8 yeas of a President Romney the GOP would be ruined for any actual conservative to ever get the nomination and the GOP would have been permanently trapped with RINOs at the tope guaranteeing Democrats ruling the White House for the next three decades.
  3. Obama at least sympathizes with working class people while Romney only sees them as assets, not human beings.

Republicans have shut down a number of abortion mills, Romney ran at the top of the party, he supported the platform, he was pro-life. Planned Parenthood campaigned against him saying he’d try to overturn Roe v. Wade and spent millions on this. Romney received the endorsements of pro-life groups.

This is versus your point of view that just says “I don’t trust him”, okay, that is your opinion but I definitely think disparaging him is self-serving and it does ally yourself with critics of Romney such as the Pro-Choicers and Planned Parenthood. This is a fact as well. You are only able to say “I don’t trust him”.

So then, why is your opinion more trustworthy or rational than Pro-Life groups that endorsed him? To me, they are equal but I will go with the opinion that would serve to further the pro-life cause as Jesus does say we should trust others.
I am not making this up. Romney has stated that he is personally opposed to abortion but is against making it illegal. This is almost identical to Pelosi’s view on the subject.

Are you really surprised that pro-life organizations that have supported every Republican nominee since 1973 would endorse the 2012 Republican nominee even if it was Romney?

I assure you, the feeling is mutual. By all means, I hope the nominee meets with your approval this time, so you don’t have to vote for someone else you don’t support to help the Democrat get elected. I wouldn’t want you to vote for someone you don’t support again to elect someone you don’t support. :whacky:
Really, I don’t think you have to worry so much about how I vote if you cant understand what a protest vote is.

Obama knows nothing about working class people. He is a leftist - he sees them only as voters who will keep him in power.

On abortion Obama and Romney don’t have any significant difference between them. Obama, IMO, would be get my vote if I were forced to choose between those two evil men for other reasons not related to abortion.

What laws or policies has Romney passed and signed into law that makes you believe he ever was pro-life?
Okay, case closed. We see where your views are.
No, I don’t think you do, but that is mostly because I refuse to jump onto either the Democrat or Republican band wagons. Not going to do it.

And I don’t think you truly appreciate how amoral a man Romney is and the kind of people he has surrounded himself with.

I do and they are not good for the GOP or the USA.

People can change their mind, can’t they, RGCheek? Note the below exchange:

Q: [to Santorum]: You are staunchly pro-life. Gov. Romney used to support abortion rights until he changed his position on this a few years ago. Should this be an issue in this primary campaign?
SANTORUM: I think an issue should be looking at the authenticity of that candidate and looking at their record over time and what they fought for. You can look at my record. A lot of folks run for president as pro-life and then that issue gets shoved to the back burner. The issue of pro-life, and the dignity of people at the end of life, those issues will be top priority issues for me to make sure that all life is respected and held with dignity.

ROMNEY: ***People have had a chance to look at my record and look what I’ve said. I believe people understand that I’m firmly pro-life. I will support justices who believe in following the Constitution and not legislating from the bench. And I believe in the sanctity of life from the very beginning until the very end. ***

Santorum endorsed Romney.

And you just distorted the meaning of what I stated and that is certainly not honest discussion.

I am through discussing this topic with someone who would do that.

Just make up whatever straw man you want; it seems to be your preference.

So you’re calling Obama and Romney evil? You have a window into their souls?
What laws or policies has Romney passed and signed into law that makes you believe he ever was pro-life?.
So if a leader changes his mind on abortion, how does he/she prove themselves since you will note vote for them and give them a chance to prove themselves?

Aww c’mon - it was your own words came back to bite you. I was just pointing it out.

Precisely. I have always perceived Romney as a morally empty shell, an impression dramatically confirmed by his revulsive “47 %” comments. As for abortion, he would say anything to capture the gullible ‘social conservative’ vote.

A statement born from run-of-the-mill unthinking, uncritical rightwing ideology.

Yes, Romney can’t hold a candle compared to “ISIS is JV”, “If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor”, voted 3 times for infants born alive (BAIPA - Illinois) to be left alone to die. Oh, yes, we see who is so moral!
:rotfl:

Romney was honest, score him for that per the 49-47% comment, actually, because of the entitlement crowd, we get some things shoved on us so Obama and the Democrats can do the work of the Hollywood-elite, those aren’t American values.

Aww c’mon - it was your own words came back to bite you. I was just pointing it out.
No, you changed the text f what I said quite clearly. That is basically the same thing as lying about what I said.
