well I see the actions of Mr Kember and see total foolishness!
your post has lots of vague sounding sentiments and very little Christian content IMO - it’s basically saying wouldn’t the world be a nicer place if we’d all sit down together and talk
naive in the extreme IMO
sounds very much like the end times prophecy of people saying “peace, peace” where there is no peace
As I said, as long as Christians cannot set down at the same table and work out solutions…TOGETHER…well…you’re right “there will be no peace”. We will continue to talk past one another, and the people who have the answers, supposedly those who follow Christ will never be heard over the din spoken against the Muslims.

“Man must evolve for all human conflict a method which rejects revenge, aggression and retaliation. The foundation of such a method is love.”

“We must learn to live together as brothers or perish together as fools.”

"Nonviolence is the answer to the crucial political and moral questions of our time; the need for mankind to overcome oppression and violence without resorting to oppression and violence. Mankind must evolve for all human conflict a method which rejects revenge, aggression, and retaliation. The foundation of such a method is love

Dr. Martin Luther King

I know where nonviolence leads…to a cross…to an asassins bullet…then to…I haven’t buried my head in the sand…everything I’ve read tells me nonviolence leads to death…

On one side we have Muslim suicide bombers willing to die for their beliefs…on the other we have Christians who would rather strike back…I don’t have the courage yet to place myself where the four martyrs did…but I do know if any of the violence is to stop…that’s where we have to go…it’s we who have to change…not the Muslims…we’re the one who claims we have the answers in Christ…they just don’t know we do yet…they can’t see Him in us…they only see themselves.

do you understand what “forum” actually means
Can you read?
And since it was directed toward him, I probably would have been best served by sending him a PM, rather than saying what I did openly
I guess your in excitement to say something snide, you missed that little bit. Maybe read it one more time. Atta boy.

Four Christian evangelists in the Sudan showed a movie about Jesus. They were then murdered. They were shot by “unknown” assailants. Oh, but let’s pay more attention to the killers. The poor dears. We should just ignore such unpleasant things because it upsets our muslim guests, right?
But we must resist the temptation to vent anger at lone Muslims who post here. They are frequentely beaten up in these threads. That is in my view wrong and part of the problem. Violence only begets violence. Or as the Lord said: ‘those who live by the sword shal perish by the sword’.
Curious
Aren’t there other things to obsess over besides the those wicked wicked Muslims? Do Christians not suffer at the hands of anyone else?
You are of course right. Christians are even persecuted and killed by fellow Christians for being Christian 😦

While there are some very devout Christians who are true ambassadors of Christ, we also all know of Christians ‘so called’ who have committed murder, rape, child abuse and other heinious crimes.

It seems to me that a halo does not have to slip very far before it becomes a noose

the assumption is that commenting on the violence perpetrated by Mohammedans to individual Mohammedans achieves nothing. I’m not sure that’s true. confronted with the unacceptable behaviour of some of their fellow believers, Muslims all over the world are turning to Christianity because it teaches love and peace
so it is useful to force people to confront the unacceptable aspects of Islam. after all in some countries these sorts of discussions are not possible so they may not realise what is happening - so for us to self-censor would be a tragedy
to call anything that happens here “violence” is to my mind being a tad melodramatic

a tu quoque is not helpful

what a snarl! :tsktsk:
you were saying something about rushing to say something snide were you?:hmmm:
well I’d better post what “forum” means then -
a meeting or medium for an exchange of views
to expand, what this means is that all posts are open for discussion and response
does that help:banghead:

Not only is it tu quoque as Jack Hawkins points out, there’s no connection between their actions and the teachings of Christ, making the fact that those that do such crimes, being Christian, or having red hair, or voting liberal, or being allergic to herrings irrelevant.

An exchange of views seems to frighten some - some view it as ‘violence’ towards Moslems.

😃
the pen is mighty than the sword - but only if the pen is very big and sharp and the sword is very small (apologies to Terry Pratchett)

Yes, there are horrific things going on in our world but we can still work constructively together.

Islamic extremists attack Catholics reciting rosary

The attack took place on 11 October in a private house. Armed men broke in and threatened to burn the place down if the prayer went ahead. Fears are rising about further violence against Indonesian believers.

Jakarta (AsiaNews) – A group composed of Islamic extremists attacked Catholics praying the rosary on 11 October and threatened to burn down the house they were gathered in. The assailants, who claimed to be part of the Islamic Defender Front (Front Pembela Islam, FPI), invaded the house of one of the Catholic community belonging to the parish of Christ Salvator in western Jakarta.

The men forced the marian prayer to stop immediately, threatening to burn the place down. They forced all those present including the Ketua Lingkungan (informal parish leader - ed. note) to sign a declaration that they will not hold any more rosary gatherings in houses in the area.

The attack has fuelled fears and apprehension among Indonesian Catholics who fear further possible hostile moves from the FPI. The front is also behind the closure of 24 home-churches in western Java.

For Catholics all over the world, including those in Indonesia, October and May are months dedicated especially to the Virgin Mary. In Indonesia, believers manifest their faith by undertaking pilgrimages to the country’s Marian shrines and by reciting the rosary in parishes.

Meeting to recite the rosary together, better known as Doa Rosario Bersama, is usually organised once a week in one of the houses of the community

why do muslims hate us so much?

Muslims hate so much because that is what they do. They want to distroy the western civilization. Isreal, Europe, the USA and anyone who does not believe what they believe.

Anyone who believes that Islam is a religion of peace and love is sadly mistaken. Read up on Islam and then you will realize what they wish to accomplish. They want a Islam world. Don’t get me wrong I will fight for my Church and for Christianity if it came down to it and by the looks of it, it maybe sooner than later.

New thread
Same old subject…
Wonder when the mods will close this one 😛

Now by saying this, I do agree with what you are saying about muslims. I think the atrocities they do towards Christians is horrid.
I pray to God that it will stop :signofcross:

I certainly care…there is an ever lengthening list of martyrs…it is appalling that they were murdered for belief in God

I certainly care…there is an ever lengthening list of martyrs…it is appalling that they were murdered for belief in God
And they were murdered because of the Moslems belief in their god. Happy to spread Islam by any means they are simply following the Koran and Hadith

LOL…no it doesn’t help at all. You still don’t get that I recognized that and that I said I should have used a PM. But since you’re so determined to get the last word, then you can have it. Congratulations. You’re the big winner. You get the prize.

I won’t be checking this thread anymore, so when a couple of you completely ignore the phrase I WON’T BE CHECKING THIS THREAD ANYMORE because you won’t read things in its entirety, and make your cute, demeaning replies, just know I won’t be seeing them.

To cestusdei: I really wanted to explain what I meant by my first comment a little further, but I’d rather do it privately and your PM thing is disabled. Just know that I didn’t mean to attack you, or hijack your thread. I won’t expound here. I apologize, sir, for interspersing my nonsense throughout this thread. I"ll be going back to lurking now.

Good day to you all

what a great post - really contributed to the thread:rolleyes:
(as did your last few posts to be honest)
