We have not even had the very first primary. That is how the field is narrowed, not debates and polls. At this point, not one of these people has a single delegate.

Cruz, Paul, Walker and Kasich can drop out now.

Trump, Carson, Bush, Christie, Rubio and Fiorina are the top 6.
 
Heck No, Cruz shouldn’t drop out. Some people see Trump as unstable and Cruz could get those votes. Also, I’m not sure as good as Carly sounds that she can ever overcome her time at HP. I’m already hearing Kasich had a good debate and again, a lot of people don’t want another Bush as President. Also, if Rubio broke out, Rubio who hasn’t passed any major legislation, then, some of the others might do well against Rubio such as Cruz or Walker. One can’t be sure how Trump, Carly and Carson do in the long run. Word is, Carson’s performance wasn’t especially strong.

My take away,Carsen while obviously very intelligent,he is almost too mild mannered,not dynamic enough.I like John Kasich,and Scott Walker,but yeah they probably will fade out.
Jeb Bush is another one that I just can’t get excited about,
Carly Fiorina i,Chris Christie,MarcomRubio my top three at this point anyway:shrug:

My preference is Paul, Pataki, Kasich, Bush, Carson, in that order from high to low. I don’t care for the others. Are there any post debate polls out?
 
The online polls which I don’t put a great deal of credence in because they are not scientific polls all the same, have Trump way out in front.

This was a good debate, CNN brought in at least, Hugh Hewitt into this debate, the moderators seemed to do a good job in my opinion. 👍 Hewitt of course, is in Salem Broadcasting, a somewhat conservative outfit.
 
Cruz has a fairly good chance of being, in case Trump wins, Trump’s running mate so I don’t think this whole process hurts him, in fact, it vets him and makes him known to the voters.

I did not think that Trump did all that well in this debate. I did think that the moderators in the second debate were a whole lot better than those in the first debate. Dana Bash was so much better than Megyn Kelly. I thought that Dana did a really great job.
 
There may be a lot of candidates, but I think I like the big field for this:

America got to hear several hours of good sense and leadership modeled.

There is enough mystery that many non-Republicans probably tuned in.

It doesn’t matter if its because of the TV star (Trump) or the novelty candidates: Carson - the black Republican doctor, Fiorina - the female CEO, Cruz and Rubio - the hispanic Senators, Paul - the maverick libertarian peace candidate. Or the array of Governors: Bush, Huckabee, Kasich, Walker, Christie, Jindal and Pataki; and Senators: Santorum, Graham - dealing with a wide range of issues of substance was good for America to witness.

Loved how Rubio refused to bow down to the climate change idol and came out strong for the working families and the economy. A minimum of PC and class warfare – though alternative tax programs were explored. As a FIELD, I thought the candidates mostly improved since the first debate. I hope our next President was there at Simi Valley tonight actually. Even some candidates I didn’t think much of distinguished themselves more tonight IMO.

The main thing was the TIME each candidate had to establish themselves and distinguish themselves. Trump and Fiorina SEEMED to me to get more of a time indulgence … Huckabee seemed to be ignored the most IMO. Fiorina had three great moments in: attacking Planned Parenthood’s disgusting baby parts sales; exposing Hillary Clinton’s lack of substance; and her Statue of Liberty (female non-victim) speech … that was a classic (like to hear that one again or post the video link).

Rubio has something about him. Self-assured, focused, speaks with authority and has those demographic intangibles that make me think he will be a front-runner very soon.

MANY of the field I could imagine to BE President … and better still … a good one.

It is nice to have some positive choices beyond “oh well, better than that other party’s person.” I expect more juggling in the polls between now and the Iowa caucus and New Hampshire primaries … but all in all, a quite interesting night.

I can’t get excited about Jeb Bush either.

Trump, Carson, Rubio and Christie are my top 4.
Not sure how long Trump will remain in the lead.

These candidates though had substance and had concrete ideas.
I still look back and don’t see how Obama got elected.
Carly sounded a little like Rod Serling from the Twilight Zone at the end.I liked her passion about Planned Parenthood.

The next president will have some big issues to contend with.

If her campaign is smart they will run this little speech with a little patriotic music behind it for an ad.

I smile a little, thinking of the instrumental “Yankee Doodle” that used to be played on “Green Acres” when Oliver Wendell Douglas gave out with one of his impromptu paens to “The American Farmer …” But it doesn’t have to be square or quaint. It’s like a little civics lesson … and even Carly’s slightly schoolteacher-ish personality marries well with it.
