It’s almost a foregone conclusion to some, not all, that if Trump were to win the nomination, Cruz would be Trump’s running mate. That would really push up Trump’s appeal as well. Also, Cruz is right on Cuba, that very poor deal that hurts the Cuban people so much. Too bad, Trump changed his mind about that turkey of a deal but he would have negotiated a much better deal.

I hate the idea that Christians, any Christian, would like to reward such a publically un-Christlike individual with the position of POTUS.

He doesn’t deserve it. Simple as that. I find him to be odiously foul-mouthed, bigoted, sexist, racist, uncouth, big-headed, lacking in any humility and frankly disgusting to behold in every way.

When up against a lady of style and substance like Carly Fiorina or the young, dashing and charismatic Latin Rubio…how could anyone possibly choose Trump over them? Sheer madness.

Seeing how one stood up for the oppression and exploitation of the Cuban people besides human rights violations by a tyrannical regime, these words above ring hollow.

This isn’t much different than the race angle that Trump detractors use, well, over 90% of the public sees illegal immigration as a problem so that would seem to assert a lot of people are racist.

Any woman has an uphill battle convincing people she would make a good president. She has to walk a fine line of being feminine (but also a strong leader); managerial (but not coming across as bossy); and likable. Carly has a hard time with likable. So does Hillary by the way. Unfortunately a lot of people vote because they like a candidate. That is why the pollsters track favorables and unfavorables.

Well, the two Cubans in this race, Rubio and half-Cuban Cruz don’t like it. I don’t believe we have to venerate the opinion of the Pope.

He’d probably get some Hispanic vote with Senator Ted Cruz as his running mate.

Trump has defied every expectation placed on him basically. He says something wrong, he’s suppose to go down in the polls but he has remained consistent. I think that is just a scare tactic really.

Trump is talking to Americans, not hyphenated-Americans.

It’s a fine line to walk.Especially for a woman,as was already mentioned on this thread.The strident traits that are considered a positive in male politicians are seen as unbecoming in females.So,I guess my point is,she has the strength of character to stand up to all those you mention,I even stated earlier she overshadowed most of the males up there with her last night.Yet,it will be expected if her,just based on her gender,to also show a softer side.Margaret Thatcher was able to pull it off.With some coaching,so will Carly.

I’m from one of the 4 or 5 minority-majority states, we elected Susannah Martinez as governor, people have to stop being afraid to speak the truth. If people merely don’t like the law being enforced; that is their problem. They should not cite this factor or another. They should just say they don’t want the law applied.

I agree with you about the insane part. If it weren’t so scary, it would actually make me laugh. However, they would. I’m a US citizen, and I would never vote for Trump, but I do believe he stands a chance at winning, if he gets the nomination. I don’t think he will, but I sure don’t know.

I absolutely believe we have an obligation to vote but I don think I could bring myself to vote for Trump. Be the first Presidential election I will have missed -my first one was voting for George McGovern in 1972

I didn’t watch the debate last night, but I did get a chance to listen to about 2 hours of it today and I have to say that I disagree with most of the sentiment here. Mr. Trump did fine. He was the centerpiece of the debate because almost every question was “so and so said something about you, would you like to comment?” and 9 times out of 10, so and so was Mr. Trump.

The candidates I most agreed with were Mr. Trump, Dr. Carson (I’m beginning to understand his appeal, but he’s so low-key I can’t get a total picture) and Senator Paul.

Governor Bush is done. He can’t escape the black hole that was his brother’s pathetic administration and is forced to say stupid things like “He kept us safe” when discussing the President who oversaw the 9/11 attacks and started the unjust Iraq War. I guess we should have known this would happen.

The others are still getting lost in the shuffle. I think Governor Kasich had some good things to say, but there is too much flurry and not enough about substance at this point. I also worry about Governor Kasich’s failure to support Ohio’s Heartbeat Bill. And Ms. Fiornia. Goodness, why an inept businesswomen thinks she is qualified to be President is beyond me. At least Mr. Trump makes money!

Trump was awful. He’s a Trojan horse. He has no finite political details for a guy whose business success was due to finite details. He hypes his litany of simpleton adjectives over and over with such passion. Give him an Oscar. It’s like watching a fake all star wrestling match. He’s a character fulfilling the starring role. His role is to get all the xenophobes fired up after their balls were bruised by Obama. Once he gets in office, he’ll be powerless to back up his hype. His epic fail will be the final castration of the traditional American that will be worse than the bruising by Obama.

The unelected media announced that his performance ranged from mixed to “coming out on top” should be enough evidence. Even the libs are speaking favorably about him now that they understand his role. The unelected media is trying to determine the presidency again.

I guess I will throw my two cents in.

I thought most did well, especially Rubio, Fiorina and Bush.

Rubio seems very knowledgable of the issues and has a definite plan.

I also think that Governor Bush did very well. He may have stumbled a little bit but for someone who has to work hard to be his own person, despite his brother’s successes and failures he did great. He, too has a plan and knowledge of what to do on day one and it sounds logical.

I am little bit scared of someone, Trump, who is planning to learn about the worlds issues and presidency when he gets there and in many instances the solution he gave to problems addressed to him, was how much everyone around the world will like him and because they like him things will go great and that will make America great. I thought it humorous he can be very insulting to people but said when he becomes president it will be a much friendlier world.

Also, as a Catholic I want to make sure I follow the teachings of the Church and not necessarily a political party when making my choice. I couldn’t vote democrat but the republicans aren’t always spot on either.

What do you mean oversaw 9/11 attacks? I am thankful Bush was president when the attacks happened. We were safe during his 8 years in often! Look what Obama has created - both domestic and global terrorism.
