  1. In the end, the Republicans will choose the candidate that best represents them. I hope that is NOT Governor Bush.
Many of the others are more interventionist than Bush, IMHO. With the possible exception of Paul, Pataki, Kasich, Carson.

There were 8.2 million marijuana arrests in the USA between 2001 and 2010. What i don’t understand is why the rich and politically connected can use all the marijuana they want and not go to jail, but the poor and the common man get arrested for using marijuana? Is that the way America works? No justice for the poor.
I wish some of the “common” people next door to me would get arrested. I live in an upper middle class neighborhood, certainly not a wealthy and politically connected neighborhood, though. My neighbor, who rakes in money by the barrel full, is a marijuana dealer. He’s a nice guy, except for that. Every weekend, the “common” people come and go, all night long, picking up their drugs. The police know about it all. They just don’t arrest him because they say “there are too many too arrest.” Go figure.

All the presidents made mistakes. GHWB made mistakes. GWB made mistakes. Clinton made mistakes. Obama made mistakes. Whoever is elected, whether Republican or Democrat is going to make mistakes. I just hope they aren’t too big.

Personally, I did NOT like either Bush and I don’t care for Obama, but I don’t want to argue with anyone about it.

You live in an upper middle class neighborhood. That might explain things. Have you complained to the police? How do you explain that there were 8.2 million marijuana arrests in the USA between 2001 and 2010, but that Sarah Palin, Arnold Schwarznegger and Jeb Bush were not among them?
Also, I don’t see the point in blaming Mexico because Americans such as Sarah Palin, Arnold Schwarznegger and Jeb Bush have broken the law.

Republicans right now have a great opportunity with the many capable candidates running. I am afraid they are being misled by Trump just as our country was misled by Obama.

I have heard too many people say they want someone who will tell the world off. That is what they see in Trump and that is not presidential
Mr. Trump is perhaps too blunt, but he does say a lot of things that people agree with and I do think some of his popularity is because he doesn’t feel the need to defend the policies of President GW Bush as so of the other candidates do. I know that appeals to me.

Well, if the base has anything to say about it, that won’t be the case. That means they better cut the excuses and get to the primary polls.

Right now, I’m inclined to support Ben Carson. 👍

I am sure Jeb Bush did not abuse marijuana to the extent Barack Hussein Obama did while in high school in Hawaii and probably on in to his adult years.
But, to Crossbones point, President Obama is not over 60. 😛

I guess I missed something.
Something about not trusting anyone over 60 that had abused drugs or alcohol in their youth.

Of course, that would include almost anyone who had been in the service during the VietNam war. Or in college during those years.

Obama used worse drugs than marijuana, I guess according to some, we may see such debilitating results.

The first primary is months away, conceivably, Ted Cruz could win that.

I think Cruz is well posed in this race but at the same time, Cruz is basically just repeating what Rush Limbaugh says, I don’t think he is that rock solid of a conservative.

Exactly!

I listened to the end of the debate and was surprised to hear Governor Bush talk about his abuse of marijuana in college, but boy, does that explain a lot. People that abuse alcohol and drugs are just dumber as they get older, even if they break the habit. It’s just sad, but basically, you can’t trust the brains of anyone over 60 if they’ve had a history of alcohol or drug abuse.
Yes, we all know Winston Churchill got dumber and dumber.

I don’t blame Mexico. LOL I never mentioned Mexico. I like the Mexican people.

I wish Palin, the Terminator, and Bush would have been arrested.

I am a Ben Carson supporter right now, too.

Sometimes the order in which we get our news can cause can cause our “jumping to conclusions” synapses to fire … with hilarious results.

After hearing Donald Trump call Carly Fiorina’s presentations “robotic” …

… then perusing another article claiming Hillary Clinton is very (physically) sick …

radaronline.com/photos/hillary-clinton-health-issues-tell-all-claims/photo/1202907/

I THEN see Carly, smiling, on the Tonight Show … singing a song …

As Carly often hammers Hillary (on policies, or lack of them, and “properly”) – I thought for a moment she’d gone to another level of personal attack on Hillary. :nope:

It turned out she was singing to her dog (Snickers) whom she calls Snick. I heard the song and thought she was singing*** “Sick” ***… and making a veiled attack of Hillary’s health.

:doh2: - doh

How I heard her little song: Remember that “Sick” below is really *** Snick***, Carly’s dog (… and not “sick” Hillary).

My name’s Sick (sic) and I’m la-zy
Please don’t take a walk with me …
… I’d rather stay right here at home instead
… I’d like to lie right down in my nice warm bed
My name’s Sick … and you’re going to have to carry me!
So all the biting sarcasm I thought I’d heard, punctuated devilishly with perhaps Carly’s first smile ever, was just my troubled imagination deceived by older guy hearing and a coincidence of reading order.
"
She was just singing a parody of “Rock around the Clock” to her dog “Snickers”. :blushing:

:hmmm: - Snickers … doesn’t that sound a little close to …“Checkers”?

I do think Fiorina’s campaign will be happy with this change in her image and deflection of Trump’s “robotic” characterization tag. She looked natural, happy, and showed a different side of herself on the Fallon Show I thought.

:imsorry: Even if she didn’t savage Hillary Clinton THIS time.

I agree with Trump on this. At the debate, IMHO, she seemed to have memorized her script very well.

I agree with Trump’s assessment of Fiorina, too, and it takes some doing to make me agree with Donald Trump. Actually, I like him fine as a man, or at least I think I would since I don’t know him, just don’t want him as president and don’t think he, or Fiorina, will get the nomination. Right now, if I were betting, I’d bet more on Carson, Christie, Rubio.
