Guns and knives are used in warfare for reason. What other practical uses for guns that are helpful?
 
I think we have different definitions of what practical is. I only brought that up because some people compare guns to cars.
 
Point being again,where there’s a will there’s a way.Boston Marathon bombing. As these perps become more sophisticated n their methods you will see more successful bombings.If you bothered to read my latest response rather than just focusing on you response you would have picked up on that point.

Even if the will to create a bomb is not there, if someone seeks to do violence, there is always a vehicle available. Drive it down a crowded street and it does not take long till the casualties pile up.

This knee jerk hysterical reaction which I often see will not keep us any safer especially if it results in more laws that, like the laws before it are ineffective in keeping guns out of criminal hands.

There is one person who is responsible for murdering 8 people at this high school and it is the kid who planned and executed it. Everyone wants to talk about how this could have possibly happened. Well it happened because a kid made the evil decision to murder his peers. This was a decision he freely made.

Interesting. Even though, over the last 150 years, governments have killed exponentially more of their own civilians, such that civilian on civilian killings are negligible by comparison.

Have you not read the history of the 20th century? Stalin killed tens of millions, Hitler killed at least 6 million Jews alone, not counting others. Mao, Pol Pot, the Eastern European Soviet states, Amin, and many others. They have one thing in common: they disarmed the citizenry.
(Well, two things in common if you count socialism).
 
That’s isn’t a good for civilians to be unarmed, it leaves them vulnerable. What do you think is the best solution to mass shootings?
My main issue how do you stop criminals and crazy people from access to guns?

You probably realize that there are quite a few on here that… like Mike Huckabee… hold a religious zeal towards Gods chosen people and the State of Israel…so to be rebuked by an Israeli newspaper for his comments instead of praise would have probably caused him fear of imminent judgment…so even if those on here had read the article they are probably in fear of commenting against the article for the same reason…
 
There are laws in the books restricting access to these people however they are either poorly enforced or just ineffectual. There should be a sober reassessment of these laws to see where they have failed us and how to go about improving them.

A useless approach would be the hysterical knee jerk reaction to add more laws which end up just as ineffectual as already existing laws.
 
I am of the opinion that they do, through their lobbying against pretty much every single gun control of any sort. They are to guns what Planned Parenthood is to abortion in that neither has even the slightest give of convenience for the sake of life. Now we have ten more dead children and this has come home to me and many more.

If this was an isolated incident, then this could be considered a crisis. Killing kids in school is now a part of the American way of life, so we can keep guns convenient and easy,
