Your Arabic is worse than my English!

“al” has several meanings. In “allah”(al+elah) al shows exclusive. al-elah means “The God who there are no god except him” and in short meaning means “only God”

“la elah ella allah” means:

la: there is no

elah: God

ella: except

allah: only God

“There is no God except only God” or “There is no God more than one God”
My friend, in English, “the” can also imply exclusiveness.

I do not disagree with you. We are all sons, and daugthers through Abraham. The names for Allah are truly beautiful. But just to let you know I’am a very devout Roman Catholic, and I truly beleive in Christ, and His Most Holy Mother. And I have read “The Chapter of Mary” in the Koran. But I have to be truthful. I cannot agree with opening paragraph to “The Chapter Of The Cave.” to give warning to those who say, ‘Allah hath taken to Himself a son.’

Muslims have given 99 names for Allah, and they are quite nice, but one of the most important one is not given which we Christians address God.

Father, Our Loving Heavenly Father

Any reason for not addressing Allah as Father? Is Allah so distant to Muslims?
There is a big difference between Christianity and Islam. We believe that God is our Father because Jesus’s incarnation, Muslims don’t believe that Jesus is God, so they don’t believe that God is their Father. They consider “being God our Heavenly Father” a blasphemy.

I don’t agree with that Explanation. We, Eastern Christians who speak arabic, use the word “Allah” to say God. In the old and new Testaments arabic version, God is written “Allah”. Allah is an arabic word means God. The syllables you gave to explain that Allah means la ilah ella Allah **لا إله إلا الله **is not a true translation.

Are you talking to me?

Or are you referring to friendship’s explanation of the “la ilaha illa llah”, which I quoted?

OK, I understand. But I still believe we are brothers and sisters. And that no human words can fully explain or comprehend _________ As Moses.

Allah is not God nor is he the heavenly father, those names are reserved for Eloyhim.

Allah is NOT the father of Abraham nor is he a 1/3rd of the triune God.

If you know not the son you know NOT the Father.

Jesus the Christ is the way truth and life.

Muslims do not adore the one true merciful God because they serve a false god. They deny the Trinity and the deity of Christ. Quite simply, they deny the true God and are not capable of adoring the true God as long as they hold to the false teachings of Islam.

I think an interesting way of looking at this question is to write 99 attributes of what you believe a great father would have.

For me this brings understanding of the great apostle Paul (pbuh) warning on getting hung up on the definitions of words.

To go a little further form my listening to people of the Islamic religion the father / son issue suggests to them that the G-d Yeshua (pbwh) prayed to is some how dependant on him. From reading the bible one would see in many places Yeshua (pbwh) was dependant on the Father and it is Christians that are dependant on Yeshua (pbwh) who opens a door for relationship with his Father / G-d.

Most people of the Islamic religion do get hung up on words but also have english as a second or third language, maybe this makes it even harder for them to get the same understanding being shared. They have an admirable fear of G-d and dont want to get it wrong.

The bible teaches they are a stubborn people where as Christians are defined as open people like children. Of course in experience Christians can be just as stubborn and i know some people of the Islamic religion that are very open.

I guess from a modern Catholic understanding one could ask how open am I to be considerate of their understanding (of course without need to comprise to truth) when looking at the issue of 99 names and Father. i dont see a bad attribute in the 99 names.

If we were to say the 100 attributes of G-d we would still sell Him short, He is so much more but as people these 100 names help us to direct our prayers away from our idolatry. Yeshua (pbwh) taught prayer is to The Father and people of the Islamic religion pray to Him who is the in those 99 names. I think the Catechism of Catholics says we aspire pray to the same G-d.

If we pray to other than The Father / Allah, the teaching of Yeshua (pbwh) and Mohamed (pbuh) we are not doing what they taught.

This may cause us to be against each other rather than for G-d’s goodness in each other then we open the door for the dark one who wants us to tear down rather than build up.

Pray well to the Father / Allah and by your repentance desire bringing action and His mercy stay well and do well for His glory.

i will be who i will be you have free will so you choose who you see

Hi David,
And Arabs (who lives in deserts) have many words for rain. It’s nice and makes arabic language rich of meanings.

Ahlan, Martha. Nice to see more Maronites here. I have great respect for your church and its holy men and women. I hope you enjoy your time here on CAF.

Pick a number, anyyyy number… 👍

Carmelite ! Bless you too ! I am glad, because I wear the carmelite " Robe "( I don’t know if this is the right translation of the word robe, i hope you understand the word ) . The Carmelite robe contains two icons : the first is Jesus , must be on the chest, and the second is Mary holding the Child Jesus must me on the back. I attend the annuel mass celebration on July in a Carmelite convent St Thérèse in Beirut- Lebanon.

For Christians in the Middle East, there are several names for Christ, including Masih(“Messiah”), Shahid(“Martyr”), and, of course, Yasu. I did not see anything that is wrong with that. It is interesting, though, that Muslims also have many names for the Virgin.
