Peace and blessings i dont ask this as to challenge your statement but do you know a credible source i can research for this?
Hi,
The credible source is the Bible itself,You don’t need to do research .
And the fact that Arab Christians do exist till now. Not all the arabs are Muslims. Apostles went preaching and proclaiming the Gospel in many languages… Go and search in Apostles letters .

Martha

Thank you for the response Martha, but I have a difficulty understanding what you mean by the statement above, which seems at odds with your Christian beliefs. From the natural world around us and from physics and math we understand that a part is never equal to the whole. Part of an apple is just that, a piece of apple not the whole apple. I’m not comparing God to apples here but the reasoning seems flawed.

On the other hand, I can say that as a son I am equal to my father, maybe in physical attributes, in knowledge, or skill. But I’m not the same person as my father, wouldn’t it also make sense that if Jesus is God’s son as you belief, he would be different person than God?
Hi,
Yes you already mentioned it, physics and maths belong to the natural world, but from God belongs to God, What is from God is God. Human’s mind can’t assimilate God’s mind . With God Three are One (I already explained the Trinity) . With Human three are three. it’s simple. Part who is Equal, God can do it, if you say He can’t do it, so it is your problem means you don’t believe in God and you believe in a god who can’t.

I tell you more : the Qor’an has even mentioned that Jesus is the Spirit of God .

Imam Ibn Kathir brings the explanation of Ruh ul Allah (Spirt of Allaah) and ‘Word’:
The Meaning of "His Word and a spirit from Him
Abdur-Razzaq narrated that Mamar said that Qatadah said that the Ayah,
وَكَلِمَتُهُ أَلْقَـهَا إِلَى مَرْيَمَ وَرُوحٌ مِّنْهُ]
(***And His Word, which He bestowed on Maryam and a spirit from [created by ] Him *** 😉 means, He said,
كُنَّ]
(Be) and he was. Ibn Abi Hatim recorded that Ahmad bin Sinan Al-Wasiti said that he heard Shadh bin Yahya saying about Allah’s statement,
وَكَلِمَتُهُ أَلْقَـهَا إِلَى مَرْيَمَ وَرُوحٌ مِّنْهُ]
(***and His Word, which He bestowed on Maryam and a spirit from [created by ] Him *** 😉 "Isa was not the word. Rather, Isa came to existence because of the word.’’ Al-Bukhari recorded that `Ubadah bin As-Samit said that the Prophet said,
(If anyone testifies that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah Alone Who has no partners, and that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger, and that `Isa is Allah’s servant and Messenger and His Word which He bestowed on Maryam and a spirit created by Him, and that Paradise is true and Hell is true, then Allah will admit him into Paradise with the deeds which he performed.) In another narration, the Prophet said,
«مِنْ أَبْوَابِ الْجَنَّةِ الثَّمَانِيَّةِ يَدْخُلُ مِنْ أَيِّهَا شَاء»
(…through any of the eight doors of Paradise he wishes.) Muslim also recorded it. Therefore, `Ruh from Allah’, in the Ayah and the Hadith is similar to Allah’s statement,
وَسَخَّرَ لَكُمْ مَّا فِى السَّمَـوَتِ وَمَا فِى الاٌّرْضِ جَمِيعاً مِّنْهُ]
(And has subjected to you all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth; it is all from Him.) meaning, from His creation. `from Him’ does not mean that it is a part of Him, as the Christians claim,"
He also says…
Saying that something is from Allah, such as the spirit of Allah, the she-camel of Allah or the House of Allah, is meant to honor such items. Allah said,
هَـذِهِ نَاقَةُ اللَّهِ]
(This is the she-camel of Allah…) and,
وَطَهِّرْ بَيْتِىَ لِلطَّآئِفِينَ]
(and sanctify My House for those who circumambulate it.) An authentic Hadith states,
«فَأَدْخُلُ عَلَى رَبِّي فِي دَارِه»
(I will enter on my Lord in His Home) All these examples are meant to honor such items when they are attributed to Allah in this manner. {Tafsir Ibn Kathir}

Bless you Sister Martha, thanks any way

I did search the books best i can, i am a poor reader. Could not find a reference of what you claim.

You may do well to consider these letters were compiled into the bible much later than when written. So they could hardly attest to a future event past.

Yes indeed the good news was preached in many languages but i doubt all of the indigenous languages of my Country. Given that it does not say all languages that’s a fair guess.
There are many Christians Indigenous to my country that does not prove that “the Bible” was translated to their language 1500 years or so back.

I appreciate you time in responding to me, i dont assert you are wrong from this post just that i have no evidence to prove it, i respect for you though it can be different, personal revelation can be very true and can also be false that’s why we see it personal.

Bless you, pray well and stay well

i think that the name of the Lord Almighty cant be conceptualized into our “languages” as it is of a higher place and i think we all try to name G-d as best we can but it just isnt possible

This is a different claim than what Martha claimed, unless you are also claiming to be an Arab. If you mean the indigenous languages of Australia, there are indeed many (though less and less everyday, unfortunately; Australian languages are among the least documented, too), and it is highly unlikely that the Bible or any other non-indigenous book would be available in every language, to say nothing of the irrelevance of this idea as most of the languages remain unwritten. For many languages, including Australian indigenous languages, portions of the Bible have been translated, even if the whole thing has not. I don’t know a whole lot about Bible translation issues, but out of curiosity I went looking for some information and found this page that lists Bible translations for the entire world. I would take their information with a grain of salt, however; though it is interesting to look at, I question what they mean by “The Bible” when they say, for instance, that the Bible was first published in Arabic 1671. This is demonstrably false, as that is the first Arabic Bible published in Rome, while the Mt. Sinai Arabic codex (151), the first Arabic New Testament, is dated 867. I personally don’t know of any earlier than this, but that matters little, as most the Christians of the Near East had yet to switch from their native Syriac or other languages to Arabic until well after that (for the Maronites in particular, as late as the 13th to 16th centuries, depending on who you believe), so Arabic Bible translations would not have been as easily available or useful during the earliest days of Islam (remember, for example, the pact of Umar, wherein Christians were not allowed to adopt the Arab ways or convert anyone to Christianity?).

I really appreciate all of your efforts.

Yes i knew when posting about our indigenous people i was way of track, that was my point.

What you offer was what i asked of our Sister when i first questioned what she offered.

Blessing to you all

NO , NO and NO . The arabic version of the Bible contains the word Allah which means the “only God”. And you know the Bible does exist before Muhammad and before the Qor’an. And it was translated to arabic before Islam. We use the word Allah when we pray our daily prayers, we have never used Jehoveh .
قدّوس الله قدُّوس القوي قدّوس الذي لا يموت إرحمنا .
I am a Catholic Maronite from Lebanon and I speak arabic.
What you are telling the western Christian people is not true. In Christianity we have Allah = الله

We believe that GOD is One : Father, Son and Holy Spirit , the Trinity is One.
What you don’t believe that GOD can’t be Trinity, this is your problem.
So you believe in a god that can’t be Trinity, then the god who can’t be Three is not God.
Ok, You will say that God doesn’t need to be Three, I tell you that we humans need that God be three , in order to give His Son to save us from sins and to do reconciliation with God , because no One on Earth can do it , Only Jesus who accepted to be Human and descended to do salvation.
Sorry you may not understand this, your brains can’t handle or assimilate it.

What I will say is very important , I ask western Christians to read it.
I will tell you something more, It is forbidden to translate the Qur’an in other languages because the arabic letter is Holy(their beliefs). But you can see the Trinity in the arabic letters , and no language on earth have this beautiful caracteristic.
Every Arabic letter is pronounced by three letters, it means when you pronounce the letter A = أ for example , it contains three letters which are : L and F = ألف , باء ، تاء ، ثاء ، جيم ، حاء ، خاء ، دال ، ذال ، راء ، زين سين ، شين ،صاد، ضاد، طاه ، ظاه ، عين ، غين ،فاء ، قاف ، كاف ، لام ، ميم ، نون ، هاء ، ، واو، ياء
and if you delete one of the three letters it can’t be the letter A = أ .
And it is the same for the Holy Trinity , the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit are one and we can’t delete one of Them otherwise it is not God.

And more : a man who doesn’t have children doesn’t know the real love for childrens, only the men who have children know the real love towards them. And God who is the Father loves his children more than his creators, He has prepared salvation for humans but not animals, not trees which are His creators.

I hope my christians friends that i answered enough.
Martha
Oh what a long quote! ya your answer was good.

My friend, we accept to things:
  1. Allah means “only God”
2.Arab Christians and their Bible call God as Allah.
It is eanough. So Allah is God.

Hey Guys have look at christians Love. Liars say us that christianity is the love relegion. No no, It is is the relegion of hate. And about idiocy, I can answer you but I don’t because my relegion learned me to be debonair.

Aboput reasons I just don’t want deflect the thead and I can say my reasons in a related thread.

Thank you frienddship, now you have given a new meaning to the word friendship,
I didn’t give a new meaning. I wrote the real meaning.
Such venom? now I know why you dont fear killing people, suicide bombing and maiming children.

you are a real pride to the muslim world.

God forgive you and bless you too.
You are typing like children. What are these things? I didn’t kill any one before and I’ll don’t kill some one after it. you are just mudslingerung and say many lies about me and other muslims. Islam never let us to kill non-sin people, But catholics killed muslim children, women and men in 1099 in Jurasli, and your books such as Epopee des croisades; Rene Grousset, confessed it.

You must ask God to forgive for you, M.r liar. I don’t need a liar’s pray. My God loves me and I love him, he helps me and pray for him and I don’t need a liar’s pray to god forgive me! But I forgive you for you lies about my self and I hope God forgive you too.

It is true that God is omnipresent, but in your reading you misunderstand…When the Bible states that God says He is the Alpha and the Omega…the beginning and the end, it is meant that God is present from the beginning of the universe and until it’s end, and for all of eternity in heaven For all of mankind. Not just on occasion to when we pray to God And Catholics take this statement VERY literally. When God promises that He will be there always for His children He means He will be there for us until the end of our dwelling upon this earth and into eternal life. The physical world we live in will eventually cease to be. It is then that God will reclaim us to be with Him in Paradise…

I didn’t give a new meaning. I wrote the real meaning.

Hold on everyon!!!.This is supposed to be a thread to enlighten ourselves about the other persons religion. Not a shoot out at the OK corral! The past sins of our ancestors was VERY wrong. We should try to remember that those who worship other religions are not all murderers. There are bad people in every walk of life. From every religion. Religions aren’t evil. People who choose to go against God’s teachings of tolerance and love are the bad ones here. Fanatics who pervert the meaning of religions are to blame for the Crusades against the Muslim and the people with the wrong mindset toward Islam who pervert it also are to blame for the Crusades. Not our present day friends in God. God may have many names, but to each person who worships him/her that is the God that will lead them to everlasting life and happiness . It doesn’t mean that that person’s view or name for God is incorrect, it just means that they have a different name for God.
God’s peace and love be with all of you.

Hi,

Oh ! saying : "so Arabic Bible translations would not have been as easily available or useful during the earliest days of Islam (remember, for example, the pact of Umar, wherein Christians were not allowed to adopt the Arab ways or convert anyone to Christianity?) "

It doesn’t mean that Arab Christians don’t exist, it doesn’t mean that arab Christians don’t use the word Allah before Islam. There are many Christians family’s name holding the word Allah and they are still existing : Abdallah, Atallah, Nasrallah (our Patriarch’s surname) , fadlallalah, Rizkallah … Islam has never add the word Allah to Arabic language.

And yes you are accepting that Islam forbid the others non-Islam from their rights.

Martha

Of course, this is all true, so I am not sure what you mean. There were many, many Arab Christians before Islam, like the powerful Ghassanids and Lakhmids. They conceivably would have had Arabic translations of the Bible, but we can only be certain about the earliest copy that survived. I only made the comment that you quoted above to remind Steven John that many of the Christians that the Muslim Arabs would have encountered in their conquests were speakers of Syriac (or Coptic, or Meroe, or some other language), who didn’t speak Arabic as a daily language until many years after Islam came to their lands (this was the case with the Maronites). So this can help to explain why early Arabic translations of the Bible are hard to find, because most Christians would have spoken another language at first. Nothing in my post said anything about Arab Christians, only about Arabic-language Bible translations. You are new here, but if you read through my old posts you will see that I always defend Christians’ right to the word “Allah” because many Muslims want to say that we can’t use it, like the courts in Malaysia are saying now. Of course “Allah” predates Islam. Muslims always like to tell us about how Muhammad’s father’s name was Abdullah, and certainly we know that he did not follow the religion of Islam (because it didn’t exist before Muhammad).
And yes you are accepting that Islam forbid the others non-Islam from their rights.
I’m not sure what you are saying here.
