Yes, but, there are problems with the movement, especially in the manner in which some of the groups have treated the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. Unfortunately, I have witnessed this, not only here, but in Austin. They have introduced some “innovations” to the Mass that are based more on idiosyncracy than anything else. Furthermore, some have made statements that are most troubling. One woman told me that a prelate friend of mine did not have the Holy Spirit because he did not want the movement in his parish. I told her that this was not an appropriate statement to make and that he had his reasons. In fact, the woman’s statements confirmed my friend’s suspicions. The deacon in charge of the movement has had Holy Hours where he has had the faithful touch the Luna or kiss it.
Some of the adherents to the movement also believe that they can heal. I tried the movement for a while shortly after my mother died. But, there were things about it that didn’t set well with me. They are good people and they mean well, but some of the adherents tend to distort Church teaching, and, like the members of other movements, they tend to make the movement more important than the Church and that is always a bad thing.
That is why I doubt that EWTN would ever broadcast a liturgy of the Charismatic Movement, let alone a LifeTeen Mass or a Neocatechumenal Way Mass.
