Although I’m not an Austrian myself, I can say that Time Magazine is a tool of the hard-left, secularist crowd. Indeed, they are the abomination of desolation incarnate. I would take anything that rag chruns out with a bucket of salt. For example, I’ll quote the source:

Bold emphasis mine. 300 people, not even all clergy!, is a rebellion? Shame on that rag Time again, thank the Good Lord their circulation is falling like a streamlined anvil. They can not go out of business soon enough for moi.

No one know what happen at the conclave of the election of the Pope. When Jon Paul II was elected, Time published an extensive article on how he was elected. Of course he got the data from noone as no Cardinal would open his mouth and on the other hand noon could contradict Time’s vies so no Cardinal would open his mouth.

Journalism. They must publish every week. If there are no news, they make them…

I was in Austria (Salzburg and Vienna) last week. The heritage of Christianity is beautiful and exciting. One cannot escape the fact that the Barque of Peter is on the rocks. I do not know about dissident priests, I do know a Protestant missionary in Salzburg told me that the Abbot of the Franciscan monastery had invited his church musicians (guitars, drums, etc. To perform in the Franciscan church and that said abbot was in favor of “unity” which means de-poping to a Protestant.

Since it seems that many of these priests are dabbling in heresy, the wisest course of action would be excommunication. Since the clergy in Austria are paid with public funds, watch how many change their tune when their livlihood is cut off. Remember, there is no Episcopal Church in Austria for them to take them in,
The Austrian Bishops should, in no way, countenance their behavior. Believe me, the mass of the people will remain loyal to Mother Church. The rest are apostates anyway, and the Church is better off without them.

So …even though its only 8 percent of priests…(plus the Media cheering them on)…these men…priests…who are part of our family…in Christ…need and deserve our urgent prayers…for God’s graces…but ultimately…their will…will decide if they respond and repent and convert…either way…their will…will be respected by God. Most importantly…the highest priority for our prayerful support…should go for Cardinal Schonborn for the graces and wisdom and courage to follow the Holy Spirit’s counsel.

At least Luther and the other 16th Century heretics had the decency to leave the Church. These parasites sucking the life out of their own Mother should be kicked out, and be made to find some other way to “earn” their keep.

Saint Anthony Mary Claret cleaned up Cuba in the mid 19th Century; and declared that a priestless parish is less worserer that a heretic priest-led parish.
 
And the SSPX are bad? They need an Orthodox Cardinal to lead them not one that visits medjugorje and openly supports it in defiance of Rome.
 
Prayers for them, yes. Not for me to say, but imo, nip this in the bud now. Excommunications can be reversed if they repent and come to their senses. Europe is facing a decline in Catholics already. These dissidents, if left unchecked, will “liberate” the Church’s presence out of existence altogether.
 
Sounds like the Association of Catholic Priests here in Ireland, an overtly liberal agenda, but luckily in the minority. I only worry that Catholics whose faith is not well-grounded will think it’s ok for these kind of organisations to begin in the Church, and be led astray from the Truth.

Prompt excommunication and a pontiffical denouncement of their motives and beliefs would be best in this situation. Rome, particularly the Commission on the Doctrine of the Faith, needs to rain fire down on these heretics so common lay people know that the pope and the church hierarchy don’t support this movement. We can’t afford to keep hereticle priests in the church in an area where the church is already so weak. It will simply cause more rott on the inside. I say also turn over their parishes to orthodox church organisations like the FSSP or Opus Dei. Maybe that would help solve this problem of apostasy.

  • This isn’t even an option, JP2 flat out said that the Church can’t ordain women even if whoever is Pope at the time wanted to. It’s an impossibility. 0/3,

  • Not sure what this is about, because some Priests (such as converts or Deacons who are Widowers) have kids already. Maybe they want celibacy changed? I don’t know. You know what? Lets say they want celibacy changed. That’s a practice, not doctrine, so it can be. We’ll be charitable and go with 1/4.
So out of their four complaints listed in the article, we have one which is redundant (lay people leading services), one heresy (divorced folks receiving communion), one request which is impossible to meet (female ordination), and one request to change a custom.

If they keep it up, excommunication is likely. If they try and ordain women (which I can see doing) or ordain other Bishops (could also see doing) I foresee a sharp reaction from Rome.
