Did you see the episode with Ron Masavige, the father of Scientology’s head?
Amazing. David gave the father a kindle and forgot to remove the Internet access. Ron googled Scientology and was shocked at what he read. Got out as soon as he could, a month later. The son treated the father disrespectfully, and like a stranger. So sick.

yes, I did see that episode. I think that David guy is scary. I am glad the father got out.
couldn’t anyone buy a Kindle with internet access? I was confused about that. David doesn’t appear stupid. How could he forget to remove internet access?
 
I don’t know, maybe it had more yo do with the wifi he was connected to or something? Someone else will have to explain that one.

Somehow, Scientologists must be kept in the dark, otherwise they would read what’s out there on Google…

I’m sure I heard or read some place before that she was getting involved with Catholicism again. Watching the show I wonder how it would affect those that left Scientology on the topic of religion. Would it be so damaging that it would turn away people from Christianity etc

The link was interesting and I do believe they are antichristian so I don’t understand they
use of the cross atop their churches. It is like a deception to call themselves a church and use the cross.

“Scholars speculate the Scientology cross may have been inspired by Aleister Crowley’s use of the Rosy Cross.”

The “Rosy Cross” has ties to being against Catholicism in a sense.

So wrong on so many levels

Interesting. I have never heard of the Rosy Cross.
 
This was a very interesting and thought provoking series. The tactics they used to control believers were very freaky, but can you imagine how people would view the religion if they put people to death for leaving it or professing an unorthodox scientology belief?

people feel the need to belong somewhere and to something.
 
There will be a one hour special by Leah Remini on A&E on Memorial Day. Thought I would post for anyone on this thread that saw the series.

I was talking about her renewed Catholic faith. How can she partake of the Sacraments when, I assume, her husband didn’t get an annulment?

I don’t know that she does partake of the sacraments. No one should assume anything about her husband.

It’s really not our right to know, and none of our business.

Every time Scientology has been mentioned on CAF, whether it’s the book and theatrical-released (HBO-premiered) documentary “Going Clear” or the “20/20”, a lot of Catholics simply don’t want to talk about Scientology. Not sure why – I do know it’s time for their U.S. “tax-exempt” status to be revoked, and I really hope Trump will consider it.

You do realize that there are organisations out their that think the catholic church “tax-exempt” status should be revoked too. I mean if we revoke scientologies “tax-exempt” status where does it stop?
 
I am happy to see someone exposing Scientology for what it is. I just don’t like that
it is being done on television and people are being paid for it.
I don’t like the aspect that there are episodes and season 1 and season 2 and possibly a season 3.
If they are serious about exposing Scientology, make a documentary and interview everyone for the one program, but don’t turn it into a television reality show.
