A Man told me I’m not born again if I’m Catholic

Ok, I see what you are saying however, born again and born anew do not mean the same to me. The former implies the first birth was wrong and the second is just a cleansing such as baptism. I admit I know nothing about protestant views so therein lies the confusion.

I’d ask him where in Scripture it says this and where in Church history this was taught because he’s spouting nonsense.

His beliefs are not Scriptural or Christian so don’t stress about it.

Being a Catholic and being born again are two different things.
Actually they are the same thing. We are born again through the waters of Baptism. Through those waters we are incorporated into the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church.

Cults are easy to enter and hard to leave. Catholicism is the opposite: it takes around a year to convert as an adult and nobody is likely to notice if you stop going to Mass.
The debate is still going on now he said that baby’s shouldn’t get baptised because peter said you have to repent and confess with your lips and baby’s can’t do this please help !!!
Peter also said; [Acts2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. 39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.]

The word used for children can be used for infant and up. Infants have no actual sin of which to repent.

[Rms10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.]

With that theology infants can’t be saved at all.

Actually since we have sinned since birth because we had the original sin that passed down by Adam and Eve so therefore we need to baptized to be Born Again with Christ

rosie you are young, you are confused, why not take these questions to your parents. and then to a priest. or someone in your catholic education office

Excellent point. 👍

Yet, we must believe in our Baptism at the age of reason, and persevere unto the end.

I hope that isn’t true

That really depends on the cult in question. Some have involved initiation procedures, others are quick to tell people to vamoose if they don’t fit in.
That was redbetta who said that… not me, check the post. But I totally agree, a true brainwashing cult is much harder to leave than the Catholic church.

As a baptized and confirmed Catholic, you are born again in the eyes of God. In the eyes of so many protestants you are not. God is love, those protestants are bigots. What is the better portion?
