A Question About Hell

Knighthorse: When you say that hell could not be a certain way or probably is not a certain way, no one can say that authoritatively. Be assured that it is thousands of times worse than we can even imagine. That alone should be enough to cause concern, regardless of what specific punishments are meted out there. As I said before, if one specific punishment is absent, be assured that there are a hundred others to take its place, each one suitably bad.
To base one’s belief in God just on what punishment a person would receive in hell, is not what God had in mind when He created you. He wants you to come to Him, to come to His Son, and believe, and be a child of His. He does not want you to believe in him conditionally or not at all or depending upon what He would do to you in hell. None of those things are the marks of a true believer. A true believer has doubts but does not base his or her faith in God in what might happen to him after death, at least not solely.

I think beckycmarie’s question is appropriate. Do you believe in God?

Yes, that dream could be your punishment should you end up in hell, and yes, while everyone should trust in God and believe in God and most importantly, love God, a healthy fear of hell has it’s place.

I too, received a “hellish” experience, if you will, that consisted of three days of the blackest despair. It was incredible despair where I almost hated God despite being a fairly pious Catholic. During that time I couldn’t understand why I hated and was angry at God and couldn’t shake it. And I totally agree how the sense of loss could be the worst thing.

So I can believe it happened to you and can relate. But that brings everything back to that original question. Do you believe in God?

What you need to understand is that Hell would be MUCH worse that being turned into a girl and castrated. If you ended up in Hell, you would beg for your punishment to be as easy as that dream if you really understood how awful, how horrible, and how permanent Hell is.
Being turned into a girl and castrated is just one part of it…there is also the part about ‘‘pleasing the demons’’ which I have no idea what this could mean. I really cannot imagine it happening, so yes, I think it is unlikely to happen, even in hell…after giving it some thought. AmI wrong ?

Again, no one can say what would be unlikely in hell. Your worst punishment that you can think of, is very likely in hell.
But I agree that the question Do you Believe In God, should be answered, if you want to go there now.

That’s okay. Just the question Do you believe in God and why or why not. If you don’t mind going there now…you’ve already GONE this far, KH 🙂

More than likely what will happen there is WAY worse than what you dream. Your dream is a cakewalk compared to the reality of Hell. We will get our bodies back at the last judgment, and then those in Hell will be tossed body and soul back into Hell, where who knows what the demons will do to their physical bodies.

So you are saying that turning me into a girl and castrating me is just a prelude if i end up there…?

Sorry, so many answers at one time. I do believe, yes but I do not realise why does He want to punish people, or me for that matter, by sending me to Hell - you said that if he did what was described in a dream, it would be just…but why ?

God doesn’t send us to Hell. People take themselves there willingly after choosing a life of sin and refusing to repent and accept God’s mercy. When we come before Him at our particular judgment, we will see ourselves with full knowledge of the truth about the state of our souls. Those who die in a state of mortal sin are incapable of deluding themselves into believing they have any place in Heaven, and so they march themselves to where they belong, in Hell.

God does not want to punish anyone. But He has to. Because He hates sin. Fortunately God put in place a plan, whereby His Own Son would be the required sacrifice for OUR sins, as animals were the sacrifice for sins in the Old Testament. God would not be God if he tolerated sin. Now, Jesus Christ had all the wrath of a Holy God poured out upon Him, taking our places on that cross. It is you and I that should be on the cross, but thanks to Jesus’ sacrifice, we don’t have to be, if we will come to Him, believe in Him, trust in Him, repent of our sins, i.e. turn away from them as a lifestyle, accept His free gift of salvation.
There is more to it but that is the basic outline.
So, it is not true that God wants to punish anyone.

I don’t know - I haven’t seen Hell so I can’t answer specifically as to what goes on there. But I can tell you that if Heaven is good beyond our wildest dreams, then Hell must be horrible beyond our worst nightmares.

My other point I will address separately in this post, re why I say that if God DID send you there, that it would be just. You wanted to know why.
God cannot make mistakes. He is perfect. He does not want to see anyone go to hell, so he gives us free will, to choose, to choose between Him or ourselves, essentially.
We think we are lords over our own lives but one little attack of the flu and we are bedridden for days or hours. We have very little control over our own lives, Knighthorse. In fact, our lives cannot even be said to be OUR lives. They belong to He who gave them to us.
God can and does do exactly whatever He wants to do. This is what I spoke about earlier, the sovereignty of God. He made the Universe, He makes the rules and we abide by them. As he cannot make mistakes, every single action or decision of His is automatically, without question, right and just.
When we do not agree with Him? Well, in our own lives, how often do we disagree with our parents? Why are they making us stay in on such a beautiful weekend? Why can’t we be allowed to do as we please, our whole lives?
God controls everything. The sooner we realize that, the easier it will be for us to stop shaking our fist at the sky and scream WHY? If God wants us to know why, He will let us know.

Actually KH, you do not need to know. Because no one can tell you. And because regardless of the punishment you fear most being real or unreal, no punishment in hell is something you would say oh it was only THAT. Well, that isn’t so bad. That is not gonna happen, KH, so either way, whether your scenario could or would come true in hell? It makes no difference and you don’t have to know, because you will never know until and unless you choose to go to hell. There are ways to avoid it, and that is what you can concentrate on.

You said that it is possible to happen to me but in such a way that what i have described and that it is nothing compared what is to come…have i understood correctly ?

What about the total annihilation of the wicked ? The second death ?
