Exactly what is said is
All not some are to be baptized.
Luke 1:15 John the Baptist was filled with the Holy Spirit from his mother’s womb and rejoiced when he heard Mary.
Matthew 21:16 Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast brought perfect praise’?"
Luke Chapter 18
15: Now they were bringing even infants to him that he might touch them; and when the disciples saw it, they rebuked them. 16: But Jesus called them to him, saying, “Let the children come to me, and** do not hinder them**; for to such belongs the kingdom of God. 17: Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.”
Act 2: 39 For the promise is to you and to your children and to all that are far off, every one whom the Lord our God calls to him."

Acts Chapter 16
15: And when she was baptized,** with her household**, she besought us, saying, “If you have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come to my house and stay.” And she prevailed upon us.Read More
33: And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their wounds, and he was baptized at once, with all his family
Colossians Chapter 2
11: In him also you were circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of flesh in the circumcision of Christ; 12: and you were buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through faith in the working of God, who raised him from the dead.

No where is there scripture that says children do not need to be baptizes. The Scripture says ALL.

Note what Jesus says “no one” Jesus does not say except for children. Note also Jesus does not say it just once He says it twice.

Wonderful verses. However, you haven’t shown most of these verses are about baptism.

As far as the ‘households’ being baptized, you haven’t proven that the specific family had infants at the time of baptism.

I can come up with many verses about believers that repented being baptized. I don’t think you can come of with one verse that says specifically that even one infant was baptized.

In the ‘Great Commision’ Jesus told us to make disciples, baptize then teach. Can an infant be a cisciple and be taught the things of God?

Can an infant be a disciple?

When John Leaped in his mother’s womb that wasn’t him believing:confused: I don’t know why you say an infant cannot believe. I think John did.

I agree mostly with this BUT We believe in three forms of baptism
  1. Baptism of desire. The Criminal on the cross
  2. Baptism of Blood. Those killed for Jesus
  3. Baptism of Water the ordinary way of Baptism.
Here we disagree. You state as fact that which you have not establishes as fact. Can an infant have faith. John did.

The Scriptures equate baptism with circumcision which was normally an infant 8 days old. The choice is made like in Jewish circumcision by the parents.
Everything you quote does not explain that Jesus made no exceptions when He said that to enter Heaven you must be Baptized.

If John could believe, could John have sinned in the womb? or as an infant?

Wasn’t John Elijah? If so, he would have a consciousness that most babies don’t have.

I thought there’s only one baptism?

Eph 4:
4 There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling;
5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism;
6 one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

Read post #37, where I already explained this to anti-Catholics:

Why would Paul and Peter baptize ENTIRE households if Baptism was only for a believer? The household of a centurion like Cornelius would include spouses, children, servants and probably slaves - yet they were ALL baptized on the faith of Cornelius.

Just as in the case of Cornelius and Stephanas, infants are baptized to remove original sin by the faith of their parents. The Church Fathers knew this APOSTOLIC TRADITION well and that’s why they also taught it - as I already showed you.

Oh Mr. Pick your charity is showing. By the way thank you for stopping your wonderful charitable PMs , very much appreciated. God Bless you on this most blessed time.

Do you know for sure there WEREN’T?

Ummm . . . I think I just DID (above).

It cracks me up when anti-Catholics who try to prove Sola Scriptura make the challenge:
Show me a tradition that isn’t explicitly in Scripture.
Then, when we show you guys things like infant baptism, you reject it.

Isn’t it time you face the fact that you are simply anti-Catholic and not Pro-Adult Baptism?
Do you think the ‘all’ in Rom 3:23 means ALL? The question could be important to the discussion. It’s not off topic.

Thank you for your good answer. Babies can’t be disciples. Disciples, according to the verse you quoted, get baptized. Thank you again for making my point.

If you are asking for evidences from the Bible… i.e. show me an infant with faith; Show me an example of someone in the Bible who is regenerate yet does not possess faith in God? Is being an infant, or mentally disabled now an automatic ticket to heaven irrespective of their state as children of Adam and separate from God? Faith is a supernatural trust in God. It is not something that can be reduced to bare mental faculties. It is not mathematics, physics, or language. It is the result of the work of the Holy Spirit upon an individual’s heart and soul. The Holy Spirit is capable of working faith in whomever He pleases, regardless of their mental state. You are letting human reason and logic dictate Scripture.

So the Holy Spirit is incapable of indwelling any other infant than John? Did God choose Jeremiah when he was an infant, or an adult?

What does anything I remember have to do with the action of God in Baptism?
they were Baptized by him in the Jordan." Matt 3:6

However, the Baptism by St. John was not yet a Christian Baptism, which began with Jesus Baptizing His disciples in John 3:22, and for all after the Resurrection of Christ. St John’s was a Baptism of repentance.

“I indeed baptize you with water, for repentance. But He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to bear. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit, and with fire.”
Matt 3:11

“If anyone thirst, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture says, From within Him there shall flow rivers of living water.” He said this, however, of the Spirit whom they who believed in Him were to receive; FOR THE SPIRIT HAD NOT YET BEEN GIVEN, SINCE JESUS HAD NOT YET BEEN GLORIFIED. John 7:37-39

And he said to them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you became believers?” But they said to him, “We have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.” And he said, “How then were you baptized?” They said, “With John’s baptism.” Then Paul said, “John baptized the people with a baptism of repentance, telling them to believe in Him who was to come after him, that is, in Jesus.” On hearing this they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus;" Acts 19:2-5

Then I won’t read #37 because I’m not anti-catholic.

Can an OT infant make a Covenant with God?
Guess what? They DID through their parents - just as in Baptism.
IMO, circumcism and baptism aren’t interchangable. Only males get circumcized; all believers should get baptized.

Is this not the question I ask you when I said" How do girls get circumcized"

This thread had great potential, but “out of the gate” it’s just not working. Everyone is talking past each other and rushing to their favorite proof texts. It seems to me the question was/is, where does the burden of proof lie regarding baptizing the young; with the Church or inside one’s independent exegesis.

Do you think the ‘all’ in Rom 3:23 means ALL? The question could be important to the discussion. It’s not off topic.
Only to the uneducated.

Romans 3:10, 23 explicitly states: “There is no one righteous, not even one; For there is no distinction; all have sinned and are deprived of the glory of God.” **
Oh, really? How about babies or toddlers below the age of reason? What about those who are mentally challenged and may not have full use of their intellect and will? What about Jesus? St. Paul is speaking about those who trust in the Mosaic Law for their salvation.
In this passage, St. Paul is actually quoting Psalm 14, where it says, "The fool says in his heart, ‘There is no God. They are corrupt…there is none that does good.’” Later in the same Psalm, we hear that
“God is present in the company of the “righteous
.”
St. Paul was using inclusive language. This would be similar to somebody saying that “everybody in town” came to the carnival last year. He is referring to the mass of mankind but God can and does make exceptions for anybody he wishes.

In your opinion.
Fortunately, Christians don’t need to follow your opinion. We have the Scriptures:

Col. 2:11-13

**In him you were also circumcised with a circumcision not administered by hand, by stripping off the carnal body, with the circumcision of Christ. **
**You were buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through faith in the power of God, who raised him from the dead. **
**And even when you were dead (in) transgressions and the uncircumcision of your flesh, he brought you to life along with him, having forgiven us all our transgressions; **

Remeber - NT fulfillments are ALWAYS more glorious than the OT type.
