I still say the best source of converts for the Church are the radical happy-clappies themselves. It worked on me.
We don’t “stay with Mary” when we pray the Rosary, Hisalone. The Rosary is a meditation upon the life of Christ, a meditation upon the Gospel. The Hail Mary (which is Scriptural, BTW) is the background for the focus of the Rosary, which is Christ. This is where all Catholic polemics breaks down. If Jesus were alive today (He is) and walking the earth (He is) and Mary was following Him around in His ministry (she is not for she can be in only one place at one time where Jesus can be in all places) Catholics would say Im going to Mary so I can meet Jesus but they stay with Mary.
Incidentally, you ought to be calling Mary “Blessed”, or else you are not obeying Scripture.and -]Mary/-]Blessed Mary was following Him around in His ministry (she is not for she can be in only one place at one time where Jesus can be in all places) Catholics would say Im going to Mary so I can meet Jesus but they stay with-] Mary/-] Blessed Mary. Instead of sitting at Jesus’ feet learning from the Master they continually turn to -]Mary./-]Blessed Mary..
You were poorly catechized, Hisalone. I bet you cannot remember even 10 things from the Mass that are in Scripture.I know what you believe. I understand what the RCC teaches. I attended many a first friday vigil.
What you believe and what you understand is not what Jesus taught. It is not what the bible taught.
Im a Non Denominational Christian.Hisalone,
Are you an Adventist? I don’t believe you are being honest. We are also of Peter, James, John…
Unfortunately, that sheds no light whatsoever on your beliefs. :sad_yes:Kathleen I am of the same denomination as Peter, Paul James and John
Im nonDenominational.
Can you name 10 things outside of mass that are in scripture. You were poorly catechized, Hisalone. I bet you cannot remember even 10 things from the Mass that are in Scripture.
It’s a deal! Can you name 10 things outside of mass that are in scripture.
Thou art Peter…doesnt count
I believe Jesus is God manifested in flesh to bear our sin and die so that we may be raised with him to everslasting life.Unfortunately, that sheds no light whatsoever on your beliefs. :sad_yes:
If one wants to know what a Catholic believes, one can know exactly what the CC teaches.
However, sadly, saying one is nondenominational can mean tens of thousands of different things.
We don’t know what you believe regarding:
-Abortion
-Must your congregation attend weekly services or do you preach they don’t have to go to Church?
-Do you preach Baptism—in Jesus’ name only, or Trinitarian? In a river? Sprinkling? Immersion? Is it aSacrament or ordinance? Adult or infant?
-Can men and women sit together during services?
-Do you preach Charity or no charity (help one another or let them help themselves?)
-Is there Church leadership, or no leadership?
-Do you believe in Death vs Soul Sleep?
-Will you marry a divorcee?
-Is drinking alcohol allowed?
-Can women wear pants? Must they wear head coverings or no head coverings?
-Do you preach the Health and wealth gospel?
-What about Hell, or no hell?
-What does your interpretation of the Bible say about Homosexuality?
-Is God‘s Holy Name Jehovah
-Is it permissible for women to teach Scripture?
*-*Is music played at your services?
-Do you believe in Once saved, always saved?
-Do you profess to being ordained?
-What about Predestination?
-What about the Rapture?
Sola scriptura/private interpretation
-Do you celebrate the Lord’s Supper? If so, do you use grape juice or wine? Drink out of one cup or many little cups?
-Must your congregants speak in Tongues?
-What is original sin and its effects on humanity?
-What’s a sin, what is not a sin? And how does one know?
-When to celebrate the Lord’s Day? Sunday or Saturday?
*-Women pastors–are they allowed?

It’s obscene how many different interpretations can be represented by the term “nondenominational”[/sign1]

I first came to CAF out of curiosity I stayed to defend Non Catholic beliefs that are constantly under attck. in a nonCatholic forum.Hisalone,
I don’t believe you are being totally open as to what kind of an association you belong to. We are also of Peter, James, John…
I think there are alot of people who can’t deal with fraternal life, with authority. It is just the way they are. They only trust their own way of looking at things.
Why do you come to CAF, Hisalone and what are your goals? Because the comments you make to people degrade the sensibilities of our faith. You are hurtful. And this thread is addressing the attitudes as such.
Yeah, but there’s a hundred thousand different permutations of the list I gave above for what you could believe.I believe Jesus is God manifested in flesh to bear our sin and die so that we may be raised with him to everslasting life.
Oh, and Hisalone…no cheating, 'kay?It’s a deal!
You go first (since I asked first).
Please cite 10 things from the Mass that are from Scripture.
When I get to heaven I will meet folks that have had abortions and those that have not had them.Unfortunately, that sheds no light whatsoever on your beliefs. :sad_yes:

LOLOh, and Hisalone…no cheating, 'kay?
You are claiming that you know all about the RCC, so let’s see you put your money where your mouth is. Please use your *own *knowledge–not someone’s website, and I’m counting on your integrity as a Christian!

I beg your pardon Above the Word of God? Perhaps you cannot comprehend or rather turn the blind eye as to what I said about Luther. Luther deliberately ADDED to the Word of God,which is also trying to be ABOVE the Word of God.Luther lived at a time where tradition and ecclesiastical authority was placed above the word of God.
Um…try again, Hisalone. Not one of those are from the Mass.LOL
I was thinking…
Call no man father
Desire the best gifts
I will send you the Spirit of truth to lead you to all truth.
Do not lord over them as the gentiles do
And you have no need to let anyone teach you
It is my desire that everyone speak in tongues
When you prophesy
You have been given the ministry of reconciliation
These signs will follow those that believe
You are a nation of priests
LOL! Call no man father? Same ole boring anti-Catholic hogwash. LOL U-huh and Jesus also said not to call no one your teacher…LOL

I’ll even be generous and give you one:
Matt 6: The Our Father. We pray that after the Eucharistic Prayer.
Ok! Let’s see what you got, since you’ve been to “many a First Friday vigil”.
Do you have any Bible verses to support this?.What is so important to us might not be so important to God.
Doctrine is important however our sanctification and growth toward that end is much more so.
