A witness to Hell

Interesting. This reminds me of all those reports that talk about how children have remembered their past lives. Some of the stories that the children tell are so…descriptive.

It’s always interesting whenever people get a glimpse into the afterlife.

Very interesting! This reminds me of all the kids who’ve remembered their past lives in their early development. It’s always weird to hear how descriptive they are. That’s just one of a few reports, though. I’ve seen quite a few throughout the years.

It’s interesting to hear people having such vivid remembrances of the afterlife.

I think he’s using a childishly literal reading of the Bible.

If the Earth comes to a screeching halt, then Hell would as well, if it’s located inside the earth as he claims.

I think . . . that’s a bad way to go about it. It reminds me of the “Christian” twist on Halloween some churches in my hometown would put on: you go through the haunted house, and see all these terrible, scary ways to die and go to hell without being “born again”, and then at the end, they ask if you want to not go to hell, and if so, raise your hand and pray this prayer. It’s manipulative–appealing to people’s fears and desires for self-preservation, when the Christian life is really all about denying oneself to follow Christ.

I also don’t think it’s very powerful. The website designer couldn’t even spell ‘carcass’ properly . . .

No, it’s not a JW site. They do not believe in Hell or any kind of eternal punishment.

Just clarifying,

Ruthie

I agree. Most of the time that’s what these “journey to hell” things are all about. They’re like Dante’s Inferno, except whereas Dante Alighieri never actually believed he went to hell and meant for his poem to be an allegorical reference to his contemporary times, these people sincerely believe they’ve gone to hell and try to use it as a conversion (and possibly popularity) tool.

It’s like that Bill Wiese guy that was running around a while ago, saying that Jesus let him experience hell to warn others. I can’t help but think of the tale of the rich man and Lazarus, and how the rich man asked to warn his family about hell and was told that they had the Law and Prophets to warn them and didn’t need anything else. Apparently Jesus changed His mind after 2000 years.

Id like to know what you think of this powerful message from a protestant minister who had an out of the body experience and witnessed hell home.flash.net/~evt/hell.htm
I’ve mentioned on this site a number of times that on the night my father died, he appeared in my room. He started with an apology, we argued and conversed, and at the end of the proceedings (which probably only lasted a couple of minutes in our time) he gave this terrifying scream which was in obvious response to something approaching him, and then promptly disappeared.

That was just over 31 years ago, and I still remember the scream. It was so terrifying that I started to scream also, despite the fact I could not see what was frightening him so terribly. I would have to say he was terror personified.

I only saw him. But I certainly remember his reaction.

As far as I’m concerned the vision of hell given to the children at Fatima is our most reliable record. I suspect some of these preachers use scare tactics (although hell is to be feared) and are not over and beyond making up descriptions based on what they’ve read and what’s in the Bible.

However the intent of their message is valid. There is something to be feared, and too many people simply ignore it.

Wait…are you implying that your father was (is) in Hell? …I mean, it couldn’t have been something else somewhere else?

I remember, there was a Film “To Hell and Back” with Audie Murphy. Could that help to solve this riddle?

I pretty sure he’s in Hell, and all I saw was his fear as it or the devil, or both, approached. He’d spent his whole married life treating his family badly, lost his Catholic faith years before, and in his very own words, had “… been an absolute mongrel to you!”

I’ve been through this before with others, who try to get me to hope he’s in Purgatory.

Purgatory to me is an inward fire, a burning of dross. But he could clearly see something coming for him, and it terrified him. Earlier he even stated at one stage during the discussions, “You’ll wonder if you should pray for me. It’s too late for me. All I was expected to do was look after my own family, and I didn’t even do that!”

I had a vision one night of my old Protestant pastor who warned me about a certain lady. He died in 1992, but he’d warned me before he died about the same lady, but not quite so directly.

In the vision he stated, “Watch out for (certain lady)! Your father’s paying for it, believe me! You don’t want to join him!!” Then he repeated, “Watch out for (certain lady)!” Then the vision disappeared.

You’ll notice the bit about “… paying for it”.

Incidentally nothing has happened in regard to the particular lady, but I’m wary about visiting her and her husband as a result of this. I’m not going into the background, but that’s the story.

thanks for the answers, does this commentary support the vision or not ? Please help. veritasbible.com/drb/compare/haydock/Luke_16:31
Well, first of all I thought I’d better take a better look at the site as a whole. When I saw the bit about Russian and Chinese troops invading the USA, the mushroom clouds over the USA etc, I lost interest. As far as I’m concerned it’s just another right wing propaganda piece. In my opinion, the anti-Christ will in fact be an American politician, I’m afraid to say.

Now I didn’t listen to the video, but it appears the pastor spent half an hour in hell (is that correct?). Yet the three children at Fatima claimed they were terrified almost to the point of dying, yet their vision of hell only lasted a few seconds at the most. Finally, going by the sheer overwhelming terror my father expressed, I don’t see how anyone could spend half an hour in hell without being permanently traumatised by the experience, even if they were to be brought back from the dead.

So I think the whole thing is fraudulent.

However in respect to the commentary, unbelievers will scoff at the existence of hell, and some hard-line religionists will misinterpret any such evidence as the raising of Lazarus, mainly out of jealousy (I think in the final analysis, that will prove to be the Pharisees’ real motive for crucifying Christ. If a powerful prophet were to arise today, I could guarantee you that the politicians would try to get him or her to toe their party line. And when he or she refused, they’d crucify the prophet one way or another. Secondly they wouldn’t like the fact they were no longer in control).

When my father appeared to me on the night of 11th January 1979, I was an atheist, and not living a very good life. At the end of the episode, I got up and turned on all the lights, went through the entire flat, checked out all the cupboards. Then I made a cup of coffee and sat down for a while. But the conclusion I came to was, “Nah, I don’t believe in that sort of thing. It must have been a bad dream.”

Unfortunately my uncle turned up four days later to tell me that my father had died, but it was messy because his body wasn’t found for four days. He’d died that night all right.

But since I was an atheist, I wasn’t prepared, at the time, to accept it for what it was.

Which means Christ was correct, in that if people will not believe the testimony of Moses, or if you like the underpinnings of the Old Testament, they won’t believe the New either, or if you like, they will reject the message.

I find for example, that it’s a waste of time saying anything to non-Christians about the episode with my father on the night he died. They simply are not interested.

Thank You Ruthiel, That was just my ignorant and not paying attention to what I was doing,Thanks again and may Our Lord bless you

Bob C. you have had amazing experiences. Have you written of your experiences? I believe Our Lord reveals himself boldly to some of us.

As I said, any time someone claims to have seen a vision of hell and is told by Jesus it’s to warn people, we can’t help but turn to the story of the rich man and Lazarus and wonder why Christ would change His mind after 2000 years? Christ warns about hell (or at least punishment in the afterlife) dozens of times - if people don’t get it the first time round, what is one or two people telling fish tales going to do?

Also, I’m amused that the website has an article on the drillers who supposedly tunneled all the way to hell. This has been well documented to have been a hoax.
