Id like to know what you think of this powerful message from a protestant minister who had an out of the body experience and witnessed hell home.flash.net/~evt/hell.htm

I agree. Most of the time that’s what these “journey to hell” things are all about. They’re like Dante’s Inferno, except whereas Dante Alighieri never actually believed he went to hell and meant for his poem to be an allegorical reference to his contemporary times, these people sincerely believe they’ve gone to hell and try to use it as a conversion (and possibly popularity) tool.I think . . . that’s a bad way to go about it. It reminds me of the “Christian” twist on Halloween some churches in my hometown would put on: you go through the haunted house, and see all these terrible, scary ways to die and go to hell without being “born again”, and then at the end, they ask if you want to not go to hell, and if so, raise your hand and pray this prayer. It’s manipulative–appealing to people’s fears and desires for self-preservation, when the Christian life is really all about denying oneself to follow Christ.
I’ve mentioned on this site a number of times that on the night my father died, he appeared in my room. He started with an apology, we argued and conversed, and at the end of the proceedings (which probably only lasted a couple of minutes in our time) he gave this terrifying scream which was in obvious response to something approaching him, and then promptly disappeared.Id like to know what you think of this powerful message from a protestant minister who had an out of the body experience and witnessed hell home.flash.net/~evt/hell.htm
Wait…are you implying that your father was (is) in Hell? …I mean, it couldn’t have been something else somewhere else?I’ve mentioned on this site a number of times that on the night my father died, he appeared in my room. That was just over 31 years ago, and I still remember the scream. It was so terrifying that I started to scream also, despite the fact I could not see what was frightening him so terribly. I would have to say he was terror personified.
I only saw him. But I certainly remember his reaction.
As far as I’m concerned the vision of hell given to the children at Fatima is our most reliable record. I suspect some of these preachers use scare tactics (although hell is to be feared) and are not over and beyond making up descriptions based on what they’ve read and what’s in the Bible.
However the intent of their message is valid. There is something to be feared, and too many people simply ignore it.
I remember, there was a Film “To Hell and Back” with Audie Murphy. Could that help to solve this riddle?I agree. Most of the time that’s what these “journey to hell” things are all about. It’s like that Bill Wiese guy that was running around a while ago, saying that Jesus let him experience hell to warn others. I can’t help but think of the tale of the rich man and Lazarus, and how the rich man asked to warn his family about hell and was told that they had the Law and Prophets to warn them and didn’t need anything else. Apparently Jesus changed His mind after 2000 years.
I pretty sure he’s in Hell, and all I saw was his fear as it or the devil, or both, approached. He’d spent his whole married life treating his family badly, lost his Catholic faith years before, and in his very own words, had “… been an absolute mongrel to you!”Wait…are you implying that your father was (is) in Hell? …I mean, it couldn’t have been something else somewhere else?
JW’s don’t believe in eternal judgement or hell. The sinner ceases to exist. This person is a JW or SDA preacher, just my opinion,I never found a site name
Well, first of all I thought I’d better take a better look at the site as a whole. When I saw the bit about Russian and Chinese troops invading the USA, the mushroom clouds over the USA etc, I lost interest. As far as I’m concerned it’s just another right wing propaganda piece. In my opinion, the anti-Christ will in fact be an American politician, I’m afraid to say.thanks for the answers, does this commentary support the vision or not ? Please help. veritasbible.com/drb/compare/haydock/Luke_16:31
Thank You Ruthiel, That was just my ignorant and not paying attention to what I was doing,Thanks again and may Our Lord bless youNo, it’s not a JW site. They do not believe in Hell or any kind of eternal punishment.
Just clarifying,
Ruthie
As I said, any time someone claims to have seen a vision of hell and is told by Jesus it’s to warn people, we can’t help but turn to the story of the rich man and Lazarus and wonder why Christ would change His mind after 2000 years? Christ warns about hell (or at least punishment in the afterlife) dozens of times - if people don’t get it the first time round, what is one or two people telling fish tales going to do?thanks for the answers, does this commentary support the vision or not ?
