Abandoned & Divorced after 30 years

Dearest friend,

Last night I was able to pray and focus on others. The hungry woman …and a woman in
our local area who lost 3 yr old twins in a fire. Oh, dear Lord…the great pain she must
suffer. So many people in New York and New Jersey in the dark with no power. First it’s
hot, then it’s cold, then it’s hot. My goodness. I have made a new acquaintance in my
neighborhood. Apparently, her husband has a job in the Washington, DC area. She is
frail and thin and cannot take the cold weather. So, she has a villa here in Florida now.
We are making plans to eat out soon. I cannot eat properly unless I have company!

Sending my usual warm wishes from the bottom of my heart. Cheers.

I am so happy you have a new friend in your neighbourhood and are going to go out for a meal one day! You are taking positive steps and that is wonderful.You are amazing.

Friday child: how nice of you to think of me! For so long, I felt I was living someone
elses’s life? I said: How did I wake up in Kaylynn’s body? But, no, unfortunately, it was
the hand I was dealt. Now I have to show God I was not just His follower with my lips,
but also with deeds. TAKE UP YOUR CROSS AND FOLLOW ME.

Thank you for your support and prayers. Someone sent me this today: “In difficult
moments, I will fix my gaze upon the silent Heart of Jesus, stretched upon the cross,
and from the exploding flames of His merciful heart will flown down upon me power and
strength to keep fighting.” Saint Faustina Kowalska

Dear Theresa, pray that I keep the graces flowing for others. To lose myself in them
will be to find myself again. Every day I am trying to smile at strangers. I look at them
in the supermarket and say: what trauma could be playing out in your life today? May
one person’s smile, be an acknowledgment of God within your soul. Maybe that’s all
they need to keep them going. Why did I not think of this before all my own suffering
began? Did I somehow think I was immune from being tested by Our Lord? I no longer
think that way. Some of the truest souls I ever met are on this website. Love and
blessings to you this nite.

I sent my dog’s cremation bill to Larry. He offered to pay two weeks ago. Now, we
will get to see if his heart is in the right place. He has failed to meet a court deadline
on discovery of assets as well. So, obviously, he is in a confused state.

I thank you, dear Theresa, for your prayers for both of us. You are just a wonderful
individual, and it is a great pleasure to interact with you. May the angels be with you.

Thirty years??!!! 😦 My wife left me after ten years, and that was almost impossible for me to bear.

Edmundus: I so appreciate your prayers. This is the most difficult thing Our Lord has
ever asked of me. All things have purpose eventually. Trying to make changes overnight
and re-learning different skills is stressful, but with the grace of God I will make it. Thank
you again for thinking of me and lifting me to the Lord.

Things have taken a turn. Many documents for me to produce and answer for the attorneys on the other side. Larry wants to fight throughout the holidays, and I do not think that is appropriate. So, once again, I ask for the continuation of your prayers. My large dog, Gideon, looks at me with big, brown eyes when I tell him: Mama will be all right.God will see to that. He knows the word “church”- he knows I will be awhile. I will
act as sacristan for two funerals on Saturday, and if my work is pleasing to Our Lord that
is all the matters. That and getting to the eternal banquet of His entire mystical body.

Your prayers and thoughts are kind salve for my tired soul. I send love - may many
graces come your way, dear one. I will send my Memorares over the continent and
water direct to your door.

My heart overflows when I think of the tenacity of prayers, especially yours. You have
reached out so sincerely–it is so gratifying. It is possible that I won’t ever be engaged in
conversation with him again. His e-mails are so remote. Business like, almost patronizing.

I ask Our Lady to let me accept with dignity. Luckily, I have a very busy weekend in my
parish. A viewing and Vespers tonight. Two funerals tomorrow. Sacristan for the 5:00pm
Sunday Mass. Father just returned from Ireland.

Dear Kaylynn I am so pleased you are busy this weekend.Keeping busy is really good 🙂 You continue to show such courage and faith.This is tough and I do not know how on earth I would cope in your position I often try to put myself in your shoes and I have such total admiration and respect for you.You are a survivor and you will get through this.You are being so positive and one day this will all settle down and you will realise just how strong you are…and I thankyou for the example you are to everyone.For anyone who may have to go through this as you are…they will read this and be inspired by your faith strength and courage.

Dear comrade and friend Theresa,
I attribute any success in this tragedy to Catholic Answers Forum. A veteran prayer
leader like yourself cannot be found just anywhere. That is a “gift” from Almighty God
letting me know he has not forgotten his servant. I try to visualize how many spirits you
alone have lifted, notwithstanding all the thousands, no millions, of prayers other members
have sent heavenward.

When I see the intentions day after day, it humbles me. Maybe I think have great pain,
but then there is always one person more as you read on that is suffering far, far greater
hurt. When I am at my parish, I am focused on doing my best when I volunteer. I cannot
say no to a pastor and deacon that reach out to me whenever I need them. This is a
very big parish of 3,000 families. So to get individualized counseling is priceless. Many,
many times I think Larry would think this or that “funny” , only to realize I do not have the
benefit of that kind of relationship anymore where I could pick up the phone with him. I
have a long, long way to go, but I am starting to be grateful for the small gifts of life. God
loves your generous nature, and I second the motion.

Love and prayers back to you with every Memorare you say for me and others.

My sis-in-law is also going through a long and difficult divorce. Her more than 35 yr.marriage was verbally abusive and she is finally realizing the extent the secrecy has damaged her self esteem…and denied her the support of her extended family. My prayer is for you and for all those who are feeling the pangs of love that has been betrayed and denied…through no fault of their own. May you feel the love of Christ, enfold you and surround you…always. You remain in my prayers.
 
stbruno - Your thoughts and prayers mean everything to me. The fact that you have
first-hand knowledge of this “code of silence” in marriage tells me not to feel singled out
or alone. We did what we did because we truly loved our spouse and wanted to do
everything to protect the marriage covenant. My husband also did not accept apologies
and move on. That is a huge obstacle in a marriage when you are stagnant and look
back instead of ahead. I knew early on I had no ally in him, and everyone thought he
was perfect. I was beginning to wonder if I was a crazy person. Who was I to destroy
their image?

Now I understand you must FIRST love yourself and then others as yourself. I am
slow to get this, but I am working on it. Know that I will lift your loved one as I
lift myself to the Lord today. God bless you as well.

Next to bereavement this is the most painful and diffcult thing in a person’s life…and I know it is a form of bereavement. I truly do so care as I wish I could take away your pain…I put myself in your shoes.
