I don’t get what you are saying. Are they not pre-born human beings? Or is it just not murder because ending their life is not against the law? If that’s the case…
Did the guards in Nazi Germany commit murder when the stuffed the Jews into the ovens?
Did the slave owners commit murder when they whipped their negro slaves to death?
When a black man whistled at a white woman and was later hung, despite the fact that an all-white jury found the perpetrators innocent, was that black man murdered?
When a young Muslim girl is beaten to death by her brother to protect her family’s name after being caught speaking a boy, is that not murder?
Murder is a legal term. It means the “unlawful killing of a human being.” Abortion is not illegal, therefore the termination of a pregnancy within the legal time frame is not murder. That is just law. Your personal belief of what should be law is not the issue. That is a matter of legislation.
The killing of Jews by Germans was a crime of genocide, and was determined later by the International Court to be a crime so obvious that no one could stand behind the orders of their superiors to avoid prosecution. Still, I don’t believe that most rank and file nazi’s were prosecuted. Mostly it was the higher echelons who were of rank. I’m not sure whether the Geneva Accords were in force in WWII or not, they may have imminated from WWII. If they were in force, then yes the Germans were probably guilty of murder under them.
As to slaves, that would depend on the law of each state who allowed slavery. I am sure there were some prosecutions, but overall, not many. Some states did not allow outright murder of a slave, some defined the type of punishment that could be exacted. Again, the law dictates. We aren’t discussing what we would LIKE it to be.
As to the hanging. The law says the man was not guilty. That is not the same as innocent, but indeed he is not guilty legally of murder. Whether he should have been convicted is another issue entirely.
As to the Muslim. (Interesting in that there is virtually not a nice thing to say about any Muslim on this board), but again that depends solely on the country and it’s laws. It is tragic that such behavior might be legal, but that in some countries it is, is no doubt true.
You miss the point I believe of what I say. We may all agree that in every instance you mentioned, it should be murderous to do these things, but if the law says otherwise, it is enflammatory to call someone that which they legally are not, when people who are mentally ill can decide to be an avenging angel as it were.
