POTUS defending late term abortions:

As a new Catholic when he was running for Senate, I remembered being horrified when I learned how he was fine with infanticide.

Like NARAL,he think it’s OK to kill babies if the dirty little secret is between the woman and her “doctor.”

NARAL press release slamming Born Alive Infant Protections Act. Very similar to the one the President opposed in IL.

God’s Jury does not get hung up on evidence, so pray gosnell gets life in prison, solitary confinement with no privileges (I am thinking bread and water only) and is forced to think about what he did and hope he has a change of heart/conversion!

Still waiting for the “catholics” who voted for Obama, to defend that HE supports what Gosnell did to those babies.

I don’t remember the last time I followed a trial as closely as this one, or when I was this pleased with a verdict. Good for that jury.

Of course, there will be appeals, and heaven only knows the outcome of that. I don’t think this is the end, sadly.

I am not so sure he can appeal this. If he gets the death penalty there are automatic appeals but I don’t think he will get the DP. And in the meantime, he’s in prison.

Today, a snippet of justice, hopefully tomorrow will bring charges against the anonymous others who are just as guilty.

BUT we need to pray for his conversion while he spends (hopefully the rest of his life) behind prison walls.

I am not sure about the laws governing appeals in Pennsylvania, but his defense lawyer said that it was too soon to tell whether he would appeal the conviction.

I don’t think he’ll get he death penalty, either, and I’m OK with that, as I oppose it anyway. However, I do want to see him sent to prison for the rest of his life, and then some.

Guilty on 21 out of the 24 charges of performing abortions after 24 weeks, these are all felonies.

Heard it on Fox News

Pray for the approximately 3500 babies who will die through abortion TODAY and EVERY DAY.

:gopray2::bighanky:

Oh my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of Hell, lead all souls to Heaven, especially those most in need of Thy mercy.

An American Jury has called the killing of babies by an abortionist, Murder.

Each day thousands (millions?) pray for an end to legal abortion in the US.

Today is additionally (coincidentally?) the 96th anniversary of Our Lady appearing to three Children in Fatima, Portugal. Her messages then included some good news (a World War would soon be ending) but some warnings (unless people changed and turned from their wicked ways, there’d be another worse war, and that “Russia would spread her errors throughout the world.”

Her warnings were true and apparently not heeded enough to avoid the War and errors.

May we remain prayerful regarding the end of the injustice of abortion. Of which, this case was just ONE (though quite a memorable one) example of the injustice.

Sentencing is another hurdle. That’s up to a judge. And there may be an appeal.

With today’s verdict. At least some boundary has finally been set.

Gosnell conviction a setback for Obama
Abortionist facing possibility of death sentence for babies born alive

“The Gosnell conviction represents a major setback to Barack Obama’s insistence the right of a woman to terminate a pregnancy is absolute, extending even to situations where a baby survives an attempted late-term abortion,” WND senior staff reporter and author Jerome Corsi said today after Kermit Gosnell was convicted of three counts of first-degree murder.
The charges stemmed from the deaths of three babies born alive – then killed – in his Philadelphia abortion business.
In writing his 2008 New York Times No. 1 bestseller, “The Obama Nation,” Corsi pointed out that Obama, as an Illinois state senator, argued the legitimacy of the abortion practices that are strikingly similar to the medical procedures that got Gosnell convicted.
Even if one doesn’t want to give credence to the World Net Daily, I nonetheless believe, if you are going after Christian religions at least here in the USA, if you have an immoral view on abortion and wish to expand it, there may well be someone up above and one may reap what they sew.

3 guilty 1st degree murder convictions so death penalty is possible
Sickening case. That description really does make the skin crawl.

I’d presume in a so-called “ordinary” case (sorry for phrasing it like that) where someone murdered babies with scissors the death penalty would be quite likely wouldn’t it? Even here in Britain a baby-murderer would typically get life without parole (most lifers have a minimum of like 15, 20 years here) and have mobs attacking their prison van, and probably have to be put in solitary for their own protection in jail.

This case did get onto BBC Radio 5 when the verdict came out (but at like 2 or 3 in the morning in a programme where they talk to news stations in America, so hardly prime time) so I guess I can see the point everyone on here is making about this “uncomfortable” story not being shouted from the rooftops. I only first heard of it on a Catholic blog the other day.

This case reminds me of when I first read an article in a newspaper years ago by a person who had survived an abortion - that seriously knocked my vaguely pro-choice leanings at the time.

Janet Meffered, Nationally Syndicated Show, She’s an Evangelical Christian and had Operation Rescue’s Troy Newman on today who may well have been an unscheduled guest, on because of the news.

Scheduled was Robert Spencer, author of the book that is advertised here on CAF:

Many Christians think the way to deal with Islam is to find common religious ground. Robert Spencer, founder and director of Jihad Watch, will join Janet to debunk that and discuss his new book, “Not Peace, but a Sword.”
I think he was on but I did not get to hear that part closely, however, I did hear her speak to Troy Newman, Dr. Gosnell’s clinic was actually very close to some University there in Philadelphia I believe he said, he said “teaching university”, so I’m not sure what that means but it was pretty much out in the open for the way, can you believe it? Extreme Abortion Advocates say this case proves there needs to be better conditions for abortion clinics, anyway, perhaps those interested can find this interview, Janet Mefferd does very good, God Bless Her.

Looks like it is the lead story out of the Americas at Grandma’s, in the USA, we have BBC America here on satellite.

bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-22518979

I thought they made it difficult in England to get “late term abortions” but I don’t personally know this. So to me, it seems the American system with abortion is quite a runaway though now, states are getting some things done and actually, in the last few decades, many abortion clinics have been shut down, largely through pacifist pro-life advocates I would say.

Although he was found guilty, I won’t be satisfied with the outcome until / unless he finds God before his life sentence is up.

Sentencing is yet to come. But since Gosnell actually did some of the things State Senator Obama was defending long ago - I wonder if a Presidential pardon is being mulled.

You wouldn’t think so. But after watching the convention in 2012 that was so pro-abortion, nothing would surprise me on that subject.

I don’t know if the link will work but I will copy some of what Abby Johnson posted:
My heart is absolutely broken tonight. I have seen so much hate come from those who claim to believe in the sanctity of human life…bloodthirsty “prolifers.” It makes me all too thankful for the mercy that was shown to me by the prolifers outside my clinic. I am beginning to think compassionate and merciful prolifers are becoming rare. Why would you be on my page if you wish death on those who have been involved in abortion? It is such a slap in the face to me and any other former abortion clinic worker. You want to know why abortion workers don’t trust prolifers?? Look at some of your words. I only feel sadness. Praying for conversion in the prolife movement.
So I guess I am a hater because I think Kermit Gosnell should get the death penalty?
