I am not so certain they missed this point.

It is also likely that they know full well that neither option is morally correct and are simply looking to make people betray their faith.
Either choice provided by the OP is a sin.
Well, I’d rather give people the benefit of the doubt~perhaps they don’t know it’s mortally sinful, or they’re just confused or something.

need to step away from computer for a bit; will be back later.

Hey Zatzat, why are you so interested in people’s preferences?

This is like asking: Your friend just moved to NYC and insists on choosing a local MLB team to root for. Would you rather they root for the Yankees or the Mets?

What’s it matter what what people think? It’s purely a question of opinion.

Either choice would condemn one to eternal hellfire…

Sorry I didn’t mean it in a way to trivialize abortion. But in the hypothetical situation proposed by the OP abortion is a given. He’s asking if it’s better to go to a back alley abortionist or an abortion mill. In a discussion of the morality of the situation, does the difference matter? What is it that Dominicans say? It’s a distinction without a difference.

P.S. Technically the only choice that condemns one to eternal hellfire is the one to die in a state of mortal sin.

There is doub in my mind that pulling for either the Yankees or the Mets would condemn one to eternal hellfire UNLESS they repented and watched 10 Astros games in pennance.

And if the person procures a ‘back alley abortion’ and it kills them, then there is one less murderer in the world and it will serve as a warning to others.
That doesn’t sound like a " pro-life" argument. 😦

I’m interesting in good discussions with other than like minded people.

I’m sorry for making such a confusing post, that wasn’t the point I was trying to make.

So if I am not mistaken you only want to discuss with people who are like minded with you? You have not answered a lot of the questions given to you here.

No…I enjoy discussions with people who think differently than me…especially people who view everything as black and white.

Still waiting, Zatzat. . .Asking again:

You hear a woman friend murdered someone.

Would you rather she;
A. murdered the person by crossing a border illegally to do so?
Or B: would you rather she murdered the person right in town?

No…I enjoy discussions with people who think differently than me…especially people who view everything as black and white.
As opposed to people who have the simplisitc worldview you do?

A hypothetical scenario;

You have a female acquaintance and you just found out that she had an abortion. This female lives in a state where abortion is illegal. However, the woman lives beside a state that has legalized abortion.

Upon hearing the news, would you rather hear that;

A). The woman sought an illegal back alley abortion.

B). The woman sought a legal abortion in a modern health care facility.

Discuss.
Upon hearing the news I would pray for her and her dead child. Really, what kind of a question is this? Human dignity is due to all people. She is not to be held higher than the child that she murdered.

Zatzat, let me ask you a question. If someone were to kill you would you care where it was done?

The reality is when abortion was illegal the majority, 90% - 95% were performed by doctors. Not by creepy pervs in trench coats waving around rusty coat hangers hanging out in back alleys.

With that said, honestly? I have absolutely no sympathy for criminals. Especially child killers. If abortion was illegal and she sought one in the back alley, am I supposed to feel sorry for her because she got injured doing something illegal? Yeah, it sucks she’s in that situation, I’m sure she’s very annoyed that she has to face the consquences of her sexual actions. But just as I have no sympathy for the drunk driver who paralyses himself, or the bank robber who gets shot running away after punching out a teller, or the drug addict who contracts HIV from dirty needles, I don’t really have a lot of sympathy for the woman who harms herself doing something illegal and morally repugnant.

Further, I’d have to ask why is aboriton illegal in this situation? Are we talking pre-Roe? Or are we talking say 2020 when perhaps abortion is finally illegal in this particular state? Because such a difference is important to the scenario. Pre-Roe there wasn’t a lot of knowledge about foetal development, not a lot of real support for women in crisis pregnancy. Post Roe I would wager abortion was banned beccause of a change of societal views on the humanity of teh unborn - in which case the woman would know its classed as murder or some form of higher level homicide, and secondly, I can’t see abortion getting banned unless the support mechanisms are in place for these women.

Pre-Roe I’d tend to have more sympathy for these women, they’re simply ignorant. Post-roe, tough bikkies.

If she is desperate enough to seek a back alley for her woes then I’d wager she’s got some kind of mental health issue going on and requires assistance for self-harm tendancies. A dead child is not a cure for mental health woes. If she has the money to head out of state for an aboriton then chances are good she’s got money enough to make it through the pregnancy.

Long and short of it, as many have said already, its somewhat assaine to keep posting these rhetoricals. Abortion, whether in the back alley or the medical facility is still the worst kind of murder. Sure, she runs the risk of harm if she is stupid enough to go back alley, but again, the onus is on her, for the death of her child, and any harm she comes to doing it.

Besides, plenty of women have died in “safe and legal” abortions. So its rather moot.

In case you don’t beleive me about the 90ish% of illegal abortions:

Hmm that is exactly what I thought. You are only interested in talking with those who are blinded to the fact that a child is about to be MURDERED. :rolleyes:

I would really be interested how you feel that killing a completely innocent person in a legal situation is some how better than killing a completely innocent person illegal. It is the SAME thing. An innocent person in now died, it doesn’t matter if you think it was legal, he is died.

Amen to that.
I would just like to add that abortions done today, when abortions are “safe and legal” are not necessarily done by an MD and they are often done in places which, frankly, most people wouldn’t get their teeth cleaned at, much less have a surgical procedure done.
My point is, making something legal does not necessarily make it safe. People assume they go hand in hand and they don’t.
