Thank God for the tracts. Yesterday, during visitation and tract distribution, we gave a tract to a 72-year-old man. He had just gone to his priest to confess his plan to murder his daughter. After briefly sharing God’s Word, he received the Lord Jesus as his Saviour! He promised he would not proceed to do what he had planned.

These tracts, as far as I’m concerned, can be quite dangerous. My son, who was raised Southern Baptist, was given several of these “pieces of trash” by my mother because she was upset that he was converting to Catholicism with me. She did this without my knowledge. My son didn’t show them to me until a few years had gone by. He was confused and didn’t know who to turn to and who was telling him the truth (he was about 11 or 12 years old at the time). By the time my husband and I found out, the damage was done. The end result is that he now believes that all religion is lies and has ceased going to church altogether.

I see nothing positive about Mr. Chick’s tracts.

Just a sidenote - this Chick website doesn’t even spell the Gospel with a capital “G”…how can you respect a man like this who doesn’t even respect Sacred Scripture???

Hi Rick, I too am protestant, I once wrote Chick with questions about his use of sources in his “big daddy” tract. I threw away his letter because it was full of hate.

Do you think God used the message from those who preached from “selfish ambition” to bless people with salvation? Is that proof that these people are preaching out good motives?

The fact that you are giving credit for your salvation to a man named jack, rather than givinb God credit tells me you need to repent of that.

I have heard people in cults like Mormonism, Jehovah Witnesses, Christian Science, The Way International, and so on make the same claims as you have concerning their leaders. Does their changed lives prove that Islam or any of these cults is true?

I’m here because I was searching for Chick Publications on the internet and I ended up in this website reading a research that tries to discredit his work. Then I found myself wondering why did someone write a very very extensive research not thinking about the real facts I mean results of Jack’s work but in the mental parameters that we all have (this time I want to exclude me in this last phrase since I was taught the same like you but I did not find a way on that)

What I want to say is: Are you sure you have the truth about Jack? I want to tell you this: God changed my life (He is still doing it indeed) and I’m within this group that have been changed and many have been touched by God with Jack’s Work and it’s just one of many ways God uses to change people’s life. I’m talking about the real change of life not about the religious stuff because as I said before I was taught in this Catholic way, and I can say for sure, that I did not find God into that.

I was dead, I’m alive now. God made me a brand new person without using “the system” cause this system did nothing on me, and I guess it does nothing but keep people controlled with some patterns (orders, laws, God doesn’t like this or this and that kind of things)

When I first read a tract of Jack T. Chick, I thought “this guy has a very cool way to offer the truth to the people” and I can say that this booklets work in a very powerfull way because they are full of God’s way of think and act and not Chick’s way of think or act.

The message always goes to where it has to go: To the broken heart, to someone who needs to change his/her. Of course Jesuschrist is there using his power.

I don’t want to use a very very extensive research to prove this (I can do it), bacause I didn’t need that to believe in God, I only needed another chance from Him. I didn’t need any religious stuff to change my life (repeating this-stressing on this).

I have to say: I’m not with the system but I have to respect it however I can express that I’m against it of course, just like Jack does.

We can talk about this, using “Paper” of course (the Bible and your ver, beause I use Spanish Reina-Valera or King James ver) to refute this.

I found a pile of Chick Tracks stacked on a public telephone along I-71 south of Cleveland and promptly gathered them all and tossed them in the trash, where they rightly belonged. I did not even bother reading the titles.

It would do the world some good if every Catholic and person of good will would throw away or destroy every Chick tract they found.

They do not help to spread the Gospel, I would say that this type of “Christianity” is what keeps a lot of people out. The “in your face” folks that like to tell everyone that they are damned to hell unless they get “saved”.

Even though it is true that we are saved through Christ Jesus, we have no right to presume upon our or other people’s salvation. Furthermore, intelligent and rational people of other religions or no relgion will not buy into that simple-minded diatribe no more than intelligent and rational Catholics, Orthodox or Protestants.

Jack Chick doesn’t portray other religions accurately. I seriously doubt he has ever done any real study of other faiths (including Catholicism) in the world or has any real understanding of their practices. I hope the OP can show proof that Mr. Chick indeed has studied world religions. His writings show that he has not.

Here is the link to his Buddhist tract which paints a poor picture of the Buddhist attitude toward other faiths and misrepresents the majority of faithful Buddhists. I hope the OP re-considers the validity of this man and his teachings.

The ironic thing, though, is that I always heard that claim in many of my history courses, rather than in any Protestant churches I went to as a kid.

Anyway, I think I’m staying away from these Chick tracts for a while. I usually like to deal with this type of stuff head-on, but I’m setting aside the unconstructive propaganda for now.

Hi, I can say for sure, that you didn’t read what I posted. I never said that Jack’s T Chick was the responsible one of my Salvation , I said that God uses him as many others to spread the message. I’m fully sure that it was God not him. As I can see, the way you read what I posted was the way I thought it was going to be, but I can’t expect more than the anwers I’ve just read.

First, this booklets are “comic books” they aren’t encyclopedias and of course comics are not fully realistic they represent the a topic as a tale but in this case a true tale. He just expressed the truth in some odd way.

I can’t look back to the past, if this Jack was a bad person, now he is not.

I tried to express the facts of people receiving Jesus Christ as a their personal Savior not the way how to, cause the way doen’t matters to much (I’m not telling you can lie to spread the Message, and I cant’ deny some have lied about this, because I’ve seen it).

I’m not catholic, protestant, 7th day guy… I’m just one of those with a new chance to live for God.

It’s my life who shows that the Gospel can be spread the way you want.

Note: I was aware of what Chick tries to express before reading his work, I was aware of that before I received the Lord Jesuschrist in my life, and afterwards when I was already in Jesuschrist that things I used to think were wrong was confirmed by Jesus himself.

And I want to set this remarkable: Jesuchrist doesn’t like religion, He likes the people on it (to let religion go), but He is not agree. Read the Bible for this.

These comic books spread out right lies. If you think God would use lies to convert people I think it’s you who should be reading the Bible.

I’m not going to get into the finer points of your post (such God not liking religion) because I’m getting the feeling you are not truly seeking truth, you are just making it up as you go along.

The devil has you convinced that you don’t need to listen to what anyone on earth has to say about God, about sin, about salvation, redemption and sanctification. You can figure it all out for yourself with nothing but the scriptures. How convenient for him that he need not worry about his nefarious plans for you being spoiled by the (name removed by moderator)ut of anyone older, wiser and holier, nor need he fear you receiving the nourishing graces of Christ’s sacraments.

BTW, his best is convincing people that they can BE gods. Next best is to get folks to settle for worldy treasure/pleasure instead of spiritual treasure.
