It would seem that I agree with some of your contentions such as the abolishment of capital punishment and furthering religious freedom, but if you are taking the ACLU’s position of seperation of church and state it would act contrary to religious freedom and in opposition to the intentions of the framers of the US Consititution. The framers had the intention of no religion being estabished as a “state religion” not the prevention of its exercise or its influence in politics, but the ACLU proposes a more radical agenda that has religion at the back burner in the political arena and in the public spectrum. As I had mentioned in my earlier posting, they support a secular humanist point of view.religious freedom, getting rid of capital punishment, getting full and equal rights for the lgbt community, separation of church and state.
You also wrote that you support full and equal rights for the LBGT. Would this also include homosexual marriage, which is contrary to the Roman Catholic Church’s teachings?
