This article suggests that the crux of the issue of poor preaching causing youth to leave the church is a matter of style over substance.
Whereas the point of “keep it simple & short” is a good principle, there is a more critical factor:
Keep it relevant to our society with practical advice about applying principles with respect to both God’s Vision & God’s Boundaries.
My opinion, the Sunday sermons that I hear do not tend toward the most relevant issues of our day that are destroying society by destroying families. While the sermons are good about describing the Do’s, they neglect to describe the Don’ts.
