The Vatican has rigorous processes for investigating miracles WRT Canonizations.

Until 2005 Lourdes had a scientific panel

But isn’t that just the convenient answer since he doesn’t do anything in our timeline so it’s easier to explain it as it’s his time instead of he doesn’t exist?

How do we refute the argument that spontaneous healings occur at similar rates? How do we know it’s not just some biological mechanism we don’t understand yet?

I didn’t mean that offensively I’m exasperated I’m sorry! I just meant it seems like I can’t have faith and I don’t know why. And it’s killing me!

I’m not offended, and I doubt anyone here is. Do not let that thought trouble you. If anyone ever does become offended by an honest person looking for answers, I would ignore them.

I don’t understand the times cause I wasn’t alive then. But if it’s so accurate how come a lot of biblical events don’t seem to have occurred? Like the lack of Jews in Egypt or the lack of a crossing of a Red Sea which should have evidence of soldiers remains or the like?

How do you know that you are not just a brain floating in a vat? Eventually we have to believe someone.

But he can’t even once give us what we want or need? Everyone says he is supernatural so he doesn’t effect the physical world in a way that leaves evidence yet his personhood of Jesus was supposed to be human and yet evidence of his resurrection extra biblically does simply not exist? I’m very sorry I know I’m being a bother and I’m not trying to be.
Well, I’ll answer at a latter time. Yes, there is an answer and you managed to reproduce only deleterious statements (which are wrong btw). And no, what you are looking for is something else - and first we’d have to inflect the question in the right direction. Mt 7:8 is the way you’d need to go; Also, Saint Teresa of Lisieux concludes her book precisely on how she’d continuously work towards answering your question, and so too did Saint mother Teresa of Calcutta.

Your mistake -to start with- is demanding miracles for others to see. When you yourself are of struggling with your faith (see Mt 7:5). Your question is also placed in a broader scope and context, which is magisterially addressed by Saint John Paul II in “Crossing the threshold of hope”.

So, you have some reading and reflection to do. But I think it’s great you placed the question here on CAF for the good folks to provide some insights and perceptions.

God bless. 🙂

I don’t and it frightens the hell out of me. There’s seems to be equal evidence for us being in a multiverse or us being in some cosmic computer simulation all which define reality?

I hope I can one day. I wish I knew why I’m held back and why I can’t just believe. It just seems equally likely our lives are no different from animals and I know it’s empty but I don’t think we can rule it out completely?

So far yes I have quite a bit on both sides. Or at least I have convincing arguments on both sides  you are right it’s a step of faith and I have tried so much and noticed no difference. I’m sorry Brittany you’ve been so helpful and I’m being a thorn and I’m very sorry!

You can believe. Belief is a choice made by a rational human being. Right now, you are choosing to disbelieve.

You are repeating dumb arguments. The medical doctors are the first to say during examination of miracles the healings under examination are completely impossible according to the laws of science.

If the popes approve miracles they know what they are doing, a jury of witnesses and medical doctors have to provide material proof, witness, and pass judgement on the impossibility according to science of such occurrences.

My issues with God are different then yours. I want a loving father not a dominating creator. I find the catholic Church swings wildly between the two as they see fit leaning more heavily on the Creator. It doesnt make sense to me that way. A creator does need us, He cant want us, He’s a God. Outside time, space needs or wants. Perfect and omni in every sense of the word in ways these words don’t provide justice.

The only reason to be created is if He wants or needs something. Since God can neither want or need then the act of so doing is a paradox. God can not want or need but he wants us in Heaven with Him? For what? Soul batteries? Hes having the largest game of Pokemon human edition?

Even after all that I still feel like there’s an answer, some truth I’m missing. I can accept there’s A God.

Just not one that will punish me or rob me of the very will that’s supposed to be a gift.

If half the so called “wrongs” in the world were not wrong and I die and God asks me “Did you learn anything?”
“I think I did, why though? You dont need me.”
“You’re right I don’t, but you needed this experience to at lest understand Me the slightest sliver so you can enjoy paradise, my gift to you. It wouldn’t have meant anything otherwise.”

That is is a God I can get behind.

I swear I don’t understand why I can’t accept it I want to accept it no rational human being would prefer there to be no existence over existence. I’ve tried to go to church, confession, pray rosaries, read scripture and it isn’t changing anything. Why can’t I choose to believe?

Yeah I’ve tried going to church and reading scripture and reading the Bible and praying a rosary daily. I put away all the books and resources and noticed nothing different.

Have you tried listening?

I’m sorry if it’s dumb I didn’t know and I’m trying to learn more I’m not trying to attack faith I’m trying to reason my way through this.

Yes I spent the past 30 days spending at least an hour
In fact two days ago I spent 2.5 hours in a church in silence and noticed nothing.
