The Devil wants the Believers and the Saved the most, that is His Prey…
**
hi Techno, 👋
Which begs the question, What exactly makes you place Protestants in the Believers and saved division? With their 61,000 separated denominations and subdenominations, it is true that many might be ‘close’ to being saved if it wasn’t for John 6. Their spirits are dead! That is what Jesus said! A dead saved spirit? That is an Oximormon, Eerrrr I meant oximoron. **
… its a Big Prize in Hell especially a Catholic Priest in Hell.

Yes, that indeliable mark will burn like Hell! **

This is my last posting for the year or at least till after Christmas.

**Your posts have made my day. They have been entertaining, infuriating, hilarious and enlightening. You have made me laugh so much I am sure God will count that in your favour.🙂 You know like 10 points for getting others to roll out in laughter.😃 **

I wish you all a most Blessed Christmas, truly aware of the Emmanuel.

Now we contemplate God entering human history.

Christ was born in Bethlehem, which means “House of Bread”
He was laid in a manger, a feeding trough.
His birth was already pointing to the Eucharist.

Like Mary, may we manifest Him by our lives.

May the Prince of Peace, grant you and all yours, His Peace.

🤷 Why not! Knock yourself out. My arm hurts anyhow from all the :nunchuk:'ing 😛

I honestly don’t think anything new is going to be raised at this point.

Now, the nunchucks are packed away, thank you all, have fun till the mods come along and turn the lights out 👍 😃
Well ok!
Thanks for that, but I think it shows not only a low view of the atonement and it’s perfecting work, but also a lack of understanding of (or unwillingness to believe) what Paul says in II Cor 5:17-“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” This of course goes well with the verses in Rom. 6-8 where Paul says our old man died and we are raised NOW with Him.

by the way, is the RCC teaching that purgatory is only for Christians–born again people?
Are these the verses that you are saying I do not understand?

Is it your contention that, since we are a new creation, and our old man is dead, that purgatory is extraneous?

The fact that we have become a new creation, sealed, and raised with Christ through baptism, does not take away the fact that we continue to battle with the effects of living in a fallen body and a fallen world. As Paul points out in Rom. 7, we struggle against our members, doing not what we want to do (be holy in Christ) but falling into tempation. The process of sanctification (becoming holy) is one which requires us to be committed to fight, strive, and endeavor daily. Catholics consider sanctification part of salvation. We are justified when we are placed in right relationship with God at the moment of baptism, when we are joined with Him in His death and resurrection. At that moment, the soul is completely pure before Him. Were a persons life to end at that moment, it is a straight ticket to the pearly gates. Mst of us, however, continue in the world after we are justified. We sometimes fall and must again be reconciled to God. The nature of sin did not change because Jesus died on the cross. Sin separates us from God. However, if we confess our sin, He is faithful and just, and will forgive us. We can be healed, and again restored to right relationship with Him.

Purgatory is just the “finishing touches” applied to those who are in Christ Jesus for any impurities they may have at the moment of death. Since nothing impure can enter heaven, we must be separated from any attachment to worldly things or the flesh before we can come into His presence. Protestants believe in Purgatory too, they just think of it different. Most protestants agree that we are not “perfect” just because we have been justified. As scripture says, “in the moment, in the twinkling of an eye, we shall all be changed”. Although we are all in agreement thst this will happen instantly at the last coming, our disagreement is how we are changed between now and then. Catholics believe that we are purified in something longer than a “twinkling” is all. 😃

What makes you think we want to talk to you after you insulted Jesus’ Mother? Away with you…or should I say get behind me Satan?
Say whatever you like. Do I care if you want to talk to me NO. You have no charity. Instead of winning the lost souls of this world, you disgust people with your pompous attitude. You might learn a little from Benedictus or Cinette. True catholics. You didn’t even thank me for directing you to the mini tutorials.🤷

Unfortunately you have no assurance. You have no certainty, I mean REAL certainty, that when you die some day, you will go to be with Jesus.
The verses in Scripture that speak about the confidence of our hope are written by, for, and about Catholics. It may seem to you that they do not belong to us, but that does not change the facts.
It is a puzzle why you would want to come into a Catholic forum and try to deny us our birthright in Christ by saying we don’t have it. 🤷

It makes it appear as though you have aligned yourself with one who is the father of lies.He was a liar from the beginning.
Code:
That is a very sad situation, and one God does not want you to stay in.
It is not sad for us, because we don’t perceive it the way you do. We are confident in our hope, and we know that, when we see HIm, we shall be like HIm, for we shall see HIm as He really is. 👍
I have had the privilege of leading many people to that place of assurance, where they can say with Paul, “I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep that which I have committed to Him against that day!”
YOu see, we believe that Paul, being Catholic, wrote this and it reflects what the Catholic Church believes and teaches.
And of course he said “For I am confident of this very thing-that He who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Christ Jesus.” Billy Graham was used by God to start that in my life many years ago, and I thank God for that ‘blessed assurance’. I am sorry I spoke in a belittling way. Please forgive me.
I am working on that forgiveness thing. In fact, it is one if the teachings of Jesus that we believe refutes OSAS.

" For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father also will forgive you; 15 but if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses." Matt 6:14-15

Holding on to resentments and unforgiveness can separate us from the great and precious promises. God is able to keep us, but that does not mean we will always be willing to be “kept”. When we choose to hold on to unforgiveness,we are no longer committing our way to Him.
False doctrine tends to infuriate me and sometimes in those situations I fail to ask the Holy Spirit to control my words!
I can see that you are passionate about your faith, and I commend you for that. It is also clear that you have been wrongly taught about CAtholicism.
Yes, and God wants us to be humble. But He also wants those who have been saved to be confident and to know for sure they have a Father who will NEVER forsake them. That’s grace.
I agree. this is Catholic Teaching. 👍
If you are a parent, let me ask you…is there anything your child could do to get you to disown him or her? I never would, and I’m not nearly as patient and merciful as God. He emptied his wrath for ALL my sins on the cross of Christ. Someday maybe you will enjoy all that it means. I want that for you and everyone.
I appreciate your desire for souls.

Yes, the comparison to being a parent is very fitting. However you will also note that children can disown their parents. It does not make them any less the parent, but for the benefit of the child, it does.

"if we endure, we shall also reign with him;
if we deny him, he also will deny us;
13 if we are faithless, he remains faithful -
for he cannot deny himself. "
2 Tim 2:12-13

Scripture is full of these “conditional” phrases (IF). We must find a way for all of it to fit together, not ignoring these conditiional references. They do not take away from the others, but they shed light on how we are to understand them.

Two questions;
Do you live by the Bible with 73 or 66 books?

Do you interpret scripture on your own understanding?

Reality check! Mary cannot make any promises, she’s dead.
Do you really believe that Mary is not a Christian? At what point to you think she turned her back on God?

That is like saying “none of the promises Jesus made are valid, because He died”. 🤷

Prejudicial and bigoted remarks of this kind are counterproductive, GK. It is not for you to judge whether the spirit of another is “dead”. God can save whoever He wants, however He likes. It is more charitable to treat them as though they are Apollos.

I understand that. But again I think that if you see all that Scripture says about what happens to the believer at the moment of conversion, it negates the need for purgatory.
The two are not in contradiction. Would you not agree that persons who are “in Christ” have not yet been perfected? Do you agree with the experience of Paul in Rom 7 that we struggle against the flesh and the world, as long as we are in them?

To purge just means to purify with fire. Do you not agree that we are all being purified day to day?
We become brand new creatures, our old man died, we are grafted into Christ, in union with His Spirit, and John says when we see Him (at His return) WE WILL BE LIKE HIM, FOR WE WILL SEE HIM AS HE IS! That’s all the purification we will need. That’s what the Bible says.
I agree that this is all the purification we need. Jesus is the One who purifies, and it is by His shed blood that we are purified. Whether He chooses to use baptismal water, or fire, is up to Him, but purification will happen.

My point is all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Even Mary. The Glory of God is is His weightyness, His splendor. It is part of His charactor of His who He is. Mary falls short of that.
If ou agree then you must agree to the first part that all have sinned.
It is not a sin to be who one is made to be. We are human, and by virtue of our human nature, we fall short of the glory of God. What Paul is saying is that the Jews and the Gentiles are all alike humans. The Jews, just because they are God’s chosen people, are not any less prone to sin than the Gentiles. Go look at the Psalm from which Paul took the quote. Right after it talks about the unrighteous, it talks about the righteous.

God already owns our souls… only the devil trys to win them!!!

Now see that’s the problem. Catholic’s don’t believe in death. We believe that when Jesus came he took away death. (are you Jewish by any chance). See we believe in Jesus Christ. We think he the Son of God, and we think by his death and resurrection he has set us free. That’s why we call him the Savior of the World. Resurrection (rise from the dead get it)?

What does your Religion teach about Jesus on the cross. What exactly does your church say that was for? Now if you need scripture I can prove the Catholic view. But can you show me in the bible where it says they Mary is dead?

Did I sleep through the post where HisAlone explained her thoughts on Enoch and Elijah…

I also thought for sure Martin would be able to tell us why the devil temps a “saved” person… when his efforts would be pointless… that was a great question Techno:thumbsup:

I asked it to my Baptist friend yesterday and lead him into it, asking him what the devil’s ultimate goal was… he said to stray people from God and get them to hell… yep… Then asked are we all tempted by the devil and he said yep… I said if OSAS is true then why would he waste his efforts tempting those who are “saved” if he can never gain their souls? all I got was… “good question”. I have to admit though that he’s had trouble accepting this anyway so it only strengthened his negative feelings about OSAS… Thanks for the thought!!!

Hey Techo2000

What merit of high glory will the adults of the rosary get? I didn’t know that steps are involved. I’m afraid of heights
And I am afraid of YOU! You can make fun of us all you want because we pray and ask the Mother of Christ to pray for us.

You can say that Jesus didn’t take away death, and the Blessed Mother is dead.

But here is the thing, YOU can say what you want, but what does the Church teach, Now that’s the question. Here is the answer.

We do not make mock the bible. When God told Job to pray for his friends we believe it. We don’t make fun of God’s words. (personally Im afraid to make fun of what God says I believe he could strike me dead, in this world of course).

When God told Job’s friends to have him pray for them because he is righteous we believe God, (starting to hear the thunder)?,

We believe if Job’s prayers could work, heck why then would the Mother of Christ prayer’s not work either.

When Jesus said he took away death, again we won’t mock him. Again the RCC teach’s that too. That Jesus took away death. And again IT’S IN THE BIBLE.

Now you get real busy now, show me where the Blessed Mother was a sinner, show me what your Church teaches about the Cross, and show me what your Church say’s about Job.

Now ya all come back now, ya hear!

In post 254 it is quoted from hisalone

Ro, 3:23 For all have sinned and are deprived of the glory of God.

How can that be? But the protestants said no, Once saved. Oh wait a minute its the Catholic’s that believe this verse? Its the Catholic’s that believe that they can be deprived of the glory of God. I am so glad that I am not afraid of heights, Pray for me Blessed Mother pray for me. I will take all the steps.

But its hisalone that quoted this and he is not Catholic. Oh my, I am so confused. What is a person to do?

And hisalone is gone I tell you gone! MIA.
