Based on what? Romans 3:23? But I already showed you that is fully inadequate as a proof text, and if you have any intellectual honesty you must admit that.

So what else have you got?
I have enough intellectual honesty to know you are bluffing. It is late however and may answer this tomorrow. However the bible is rift with mankinds sinfullness and of course prohibitions of drinking blood.

God is God He does what He wants.
We have been given His word so that we may learn more about Him. One who never heard of Marys perpetual virginity would never arrive at that conclsion by reading the bible so it is you who have brougt your prejudices to the table.
We are not discussing the perpetual viginity of Mary, nor Sacred Tradition, where we draw our knowledge of this dogma.

We are discussing the theological arguments that led to the declaration of the Doctrine of the Immaculate Conception.

Your one, simplistic, and illogical interpretation of the proof text does not disprove this scholarly study.

God is God He can do what He wants is inadequate. Why did Mary have to be a virgin at all? Why was her physical virgininty so important, but not the state of her soul?

You have not addressed this.

And the list goes on:

Popes
Priest
Confession
Purgatory
Eucharist
Celibacy
Cathecism
Nuns
Idols
Lent

Can anybody think of something else?
Uh-huh,

Rosaries
Scapulars
Holy Water
Chalices
Altar Boys
Altar Girls
Bishops
Archbishops
Deacons (Catholic)
Saints
Intercessory Prayer
Advent

I’m sure there’s more…

Your rolling eyes are the rolling eyes of prejudice, arrogance, and ignorance, and those rolling eyes are not the fruits of the Spirit.

But I assume your salvation is so secure, you do not have to worry.👍

Psssst !!! Angels Unaware - RobHom was playing them at their own game. He was being sarcastic.

He his only being so however as I thought the thread was dead and put the :nunchuk: away  😃

But of course that is why the Immaculate Conception is contrary to scripture. That is why transubstansiation is contrary to scripture.
Substantiate please… Catholics demand evidence for statements, and so far, as long as this thread has been, there hasn’t been any proof.

You will need the complete Bible for all the references…so go here too.

So you can read what the Catholic Church actually teaches. And what we as Catholic really believe. Right now you are looking kinda silly. We know better as to where you most likley done your “research” as to what we believe.

God Bless,

No, my brother or sister Catholic… you misread my intent, and possibly poor try at sarcasm…
But I assume your salvation is so secure, you do not have to worry.👍
No, I have no notion of that… I do not espouse to any form of OSAS, and as a Catholic for more than half a century plus…and one heckuva track record…I make no such assumption. I frankly, do worry, yet strive daily to please God…though I fear at times I fall short of the mark. I do depend greatly on God’s Mercy, Grace and Forgiveness of my sins and transgressions.

By the way, I am sometimes inclined to be or attempt to be humorous…though I fail miserably.😊

I am well aware of the thoughts of “they”, and I am also well aware of the foibles of their thoughts, and the fact that the One Holy and Apostolic Church is well founded in Scripture, and that all we believe is right and proper. 👍

Peace!!🙂

WILL SOMEONE SLOW THIS THREAD DOWN??? I AM GETTING SEA SICK!!!

I know for the most part Catholics do not view Mary as divine.

**Hi Hisalone,👋
Boy, it looks like everyone wants a piece of your butt! 🙂
I actually know for a fact that in entire Catholic Faith that NO ONE views Mary as Divine, It is against the commandments!. She was created, she isn’t God. Does that help at all? **

How do you know that Mary did not sin?

**Easy one! She was “Full of Grace”, no room for sin, is my best guess, Better ask God about that one buddy He makes the decisions! **

Because of the doctrine of Immaculate Conception.

** Of course not! 😃 That just afirmed what the scriptures said. You do read the Bible don’t you? Oh, a Bible is “normally” a black book with a cross and the words HOLY BIBLE on the front. There is a lot of writing in it! The KJV has 783,137 words in it. The “New” KJV removed over 2.289 words from the new testement alone, so I am still counting, but I think it has around 780,848. words in it. Funny, the last time you guys corrupted the bible over 3,800 words were added. I thought for sure they were going to try for 1,000,000. But I guess the cost of printing, etc.must have made them decide on a slimer version. (Hmmm :hmmm: Where was I?? **

The Catholic Curch waited 1800 years to finalize this doctrine from oral tradition. What took it so long?

Short version: Everything was going great, then some guys wanted the Pope to change Gods rules. The Pope said no! So they went, with the help of Satan, started a false religion based on 5 really “ignorant” rules. (Boy it is hard to be explain without being unkind, that is the “best” word I could use without getting nunchucked by “you know who” :nunchuk: ) Anyway, the church thought it was a passing fad. But you know how the devil is when he gets his claws into something! He never wants to let go! So in order to “protect” Mary from the lies, The Pope was instructed by the HS to affirm what had been common knowledge to every Christian. Why even the guy named Luther was shocked, as were many of the others, when the Devil forced people not to believe in The Blessed Mother!I am thinking attack the Mother, hurt the children? Evil and unnecessary!

Could the oral tradition have been corrupted during this time?

**No Thank God, we have the Holy Spirit guiding the church and keeping things straight! 1,800 years old at that time and everything was still as God directed!👍 Meanwhile, the other guys, then less than 300 years old had already split into over 1,690 different sections like some kind of cancerous growth! **

If this traditions was so important for the church to follow why was it not in the gospels or ACTS?

You silly goose! Those books are about Jesus! Don’t you realize Mary isn’t necessary for salvation? She is just a nice bonus, from God! Someone who can inflluence Her son to help us. Why, did you know that one time she had Him change water into wine? He said it wasn’t His time, but you know how children are. What their Mother asks, they do out of love and Respect!👍 Jesus was a good son!

Enoch and Elijah were just men who walked in faith. I dont know why they were translated and others not but they were.

**
I put that on my list of things to ask God about! mosquitoes and giraffes are right at the top of that list!

I hope that that information helped!

God Bless **

Well get them out! How dare Rob be allowed to be prejudice, arrogance, and ignorance, when no one else can? He has always been a trouble maker and sarcastic!

:hmmm: Or was that Justasking4???

I agree that those rolling eyes are not the “fruits of the Spirit”

Oh, by the way I think God likes fruits of the Spirit better than religious nuts! :extrahappy:
