Suppose that they exist and are intellectual beings. Human however has immortal soul because he is an intellectual being. Therefore aliens have immortal soul.

Are you sure that the reason we have a soul is because we are intellectual beings? Even if it is, it doesn’t necessarily follow that another intellectual being would have a soul.

As a Thomist, I would expect they would have immortal souls if they also had the ability to reason, have language, engage in abstract thought.

But it’s only speculation on something that may not exist.

They should exist if universe is infinite. God is pure act therefore His creation is infinite. Therefore aliens exist.

the only answer we can give at this time is … We don’t know. Any other answer is speculation…

Why would being “an intellectual being” be tied to possessing an immortal soul?

Please see post #7.
We don’t know whether the universe is infinite, and even if it were that doesn’t necessitate other rational life.

To a Thomist, it’s the rationality of the soul that makes it non-material, therefore incapable of decomposing, therefore making it immortal. Same for angels being rational intellects.

STT should know, though, that not all Catholics are Thomists.

Ah, you beat me to it. I think there is more to it than intellect. After all, we may lose out intellect due to injury or disease and still keep our soul.

I think that if beings evolve somewhere else with the capacity for love and faith, God may adopt them as his children too.

I think that the universe is infinite if God is perfect. The creation which is one Act should be complete. There would be a couple person similar to me and you who live in another part of universe discussing the same thing if universe is infinite.

We should never discount the existance of aliens. There are lots of things we do not know about our universe.

God’s perfection isn’t impacted by the extent of his creation, and there’s no obligation on him to create an infinite expanse of material creation.

No, this misunderstands. A person’s nature, including his cognitive powers, may be inhibited from developing or manifesting all of its abilities, but that person still has a rational soul which by its nature has the power of abstraction and grasping universals, even if the exercise of this due to a disconnect with sensitive powers prevents this person from exercising it. This doesn’t have to do with manifested intelligence.
