Ahhhh! but the Universe is NOT infinite, It is actually quite finite and will end when all the energy within it has been expended.
The universe is infinite. I have an argument for that: Suppose that universe is finite. This means that the universe is bounded by something, lets call this B1. B1 also is either finite or infinite. The sum of the universe and B1 is infinite if size of B1 is infinite and we face with infinite regress if size of B1 is finite.
Um… what infinite regress?

And our 3D space could have no edge but still be finite.

I must have been hallucinating, I thought the title said they have immoral souls
My bad

STT, outside of metaphysics do you know about the Cosmic Microwave Background? Evidence suggest that the Universe is finite, and seems to be expanding. However, its limits aren’t spatial, so you can’t go to the “boundaries” of the Universe.

I know about CMB. I however don’t know if it is related to size of universe. It is an indication of Big Bang.

Suppose that they exist and are intellectual beings. Human however has immortal soul because he is an intellectual being. Therefore aliens have immortal soul.
Optimistically, there is probably other intelligent life in the universe. We have no scientific evidence of this. But what is evident is that God uses natural processes to bring about sophisticated biological objects, and one of those species has a rational intellect.

It is my belief, keeping in line with Catholic teaching, that when a biological being becomes sophisticated enough to have an intellectual soul, then that is what it has by the power and will of God; because God has willed from eternity that whenever a specific physical pattern emerges it will be accompanied by an intellectual soul or form.

We have no reason to assume that this process has not occurred elsewhere. In fact i think it’s a bit short sighted to assume that it hasn’t.

But i suspect most people here have an interventionist view of God, where God has simply decided to put intelligent life on this particular planet, and everywhere else is just an empty masterpiece devoid of life but nice to look at. I’m not a supporter of this view myself. I think intelligent life is likely to emerge wherever there is suitable environments for biological processes to take place.
