There’s a neighborhood store near me that encourages customers to not wear masks. They get my business and they are busy.

You know what’s really bad? They make me wear shoes and a shirt! Don’t they know my little piggies can’t breathe in shoes? Doesn’t everyone want to see my 68 yo chest? The horror!

Next, they are going to make me wear shoes in my home…it’s coming, you just wait and see!

I will proudly be violating the state mandate this Thanksgiving with a huge family gathering and i guarantee you there will be lots of laughing, lots of singing, lots of hugs and kisses and no masks.

I hope you don’t end up like this guy.

I have zero problem wearing a mask. This shouldn’t even be a question.

Such a hero.

Our Kroger affiliate (Dillion’s) has steps beyond just masking to help stay safe. Two Sundays ago we got online, ordered all our groceries for the week, went to Mass, then drove to the store. Once there we pulled into a numbered space, texted a number, and a Dillons employer brought out our food and loaded it into our open SUV. Zero contact. It was wonderful.

I don’t doubt that this is your desire, but what I can’t believe is that your whole family shares your attitude. I expect a low turnout. In any case, I wish you and your family a Healthy Thanksgiving.

Not trying to be a hero. Just refuse to be controlled over nonsense.

I live in California where we have a control freak for a governor. That’s more than enough control as far as I’m concerned.

Do you agree with any of the public health advice, or controls as you’ve called them, in California?

Here in Massachusetts, ordinary folks are given “advisories,” while businesses may be subject to “mandates” with penalties such as fines. Is it much different in California?

Advice is fine. I don’t like mandates.
You can’t just throw out mandates for being mandatory, because some mandates are very, very good.

Take for example the government mandate for unleaded gasoline. Lead in gasoline was a public health scourge. The auto and fuel industries liked it fine and never would have changed on their own. The mandate has benefitted us all. Same for catalytic converters. California in particular is better for it.

I’m not sure why mandates to bring covid-19 down to manageable levels are so disagreeable to you.
