Boy Potato, I’m wondering where in all of Christianity does it say to call people names. I guess it wouldn’t matter if it were in the CCC. But again, you have not answered my question which for the third time, has been, “What in the CCC is non-essential to our faith?” I don’t care if I have hijacked this thread, you owe me an answer. When you call my Catechism a history book or an encyclopedia for crying out loud, you need to answer questions like this. Or would I be ignorant ridiculous and wrong?

Scripture, Tradition, Magesterium
Ok we need to tone down here, I didnt call you names I called your position ignorant and rediculous and wrong. That is not you, just your position on this subject. I hope you read the CCC with more vigelance than my posts… You are bordering on hysteria with your defense of the “Holy” Catechism. It is a history book. So is the Bible. It enacaptures what we believe like an encyclopedia, so does the Bible. the Bible is the infallible inspired word of God, It does not change it does not error it does not waver. teachings, with a little t DO CHANGE DO WAVER And aren’;t infallible. I believe the CCC even states that.
It is not necessary to my faith to believe that the CCC is corect in the matters of what a muslim believes, if unbaptized people are saved, or if masturbation addiction is a mitigating circumstance in the mortality of sin. The CCC is post VII it contains the Truth and infallible Dogma, but not everything in it is infallible. PLease, introspect at your opinion and ask yourself if this is really worth it. If you wish to continue please PM as I feel that this subject is closed on this thread.
PS I Submitted the CCC question to the ask an apologist board so we will see if they will answer.
Again, I do not want you to feel that I am calling you anything other than misled.
God bless.

Okay, I have something I want to throw out here:
I am a “junior”. I was named for my mother.
My mother was named for her grandmother…I never had the pleasure of meeting this particular grandmother, but that matters not: The fact is, that there has been, since the 1860’s, a woman around these United States with exactly the same name as hers. There still is: three quarters of a century after her death, there is still this person with the same name…who, as I say, never clapped eyes on her: She died two decades before I was born.
Now,then, are we all the same person?? Can I show up at the family reunion, and claim to be everybody’s great-aunt?? Well, sure, I can. I can claim to be 140 years old, if I choose to. I can, for that matter, claim to be my mother…but the state of New York is:p very unlikely to agree to paying me her retirement pension.

All of which is very much germane to the issue at hand. The CCC says that “Muslims profess to worship the God of Abraham”. It does **not **say, that Muslims are right to say that; it simply acknowledges a fact about what Muslims believe.
As I say: I can claim to be my own great-grandmother. I can claim it until I’m blue, but guess what?? It’s a tremendous load of codswallop.
And speaking of   tremendous loads of codswallop…:coffeeread:
:rotfl: :rotfl: 😉

You are so cool Zooey:)

Interesting article athough, not surprizingly secular and non conclusive post 9-11 Time mag is hardly a source for who we all worship. look at thier cover article on why the Davinci Code is True!!!1

However it is worth noting that no one here is contesting that we all come from Abraham. Jews even have the Torah, the (Pentetuech of which is at least divinely inspired), they have God revealing, leading and loving them. The muslims have the koran. NOT Divinely inspired and having nothing to do with God revealing himself to them. Also you have the chronology order. Jesus was a Jew, the apostles were Jews. God became man and those who accepted Him weere saved and called Christians. Later… Post Christ, the Muslims sho had been taught of Jesus, reject Him and claim to woirship thier god. Cain too is in the Bible, he starts his own. Israel worshiped the golden calf shortly after have been given thier freedom, they were brought back into the fold. muslims have not been brought back they are still worshiping thier calf.
