ALLAH same as GOD ? Or is this HERESY ?

Meedo,

We just proved to you that allah is not God and
you return to divert the topic to one between Jews and Christians.

[Moderator Note: Removed insulting comments]

Don’t wish to sound harsh, but fine…lets compare since that’s what you’re attempting here.

A — Christians believe Jesus is God.
Evidence:

1 -Historical evidences.
2- Jesus had prophetic and miraculous power
3 -Jesus had a miraculous birth
4 -Jesus had an impeccable character
5 -Jesus is returning in 2nd coming

B — Muslims believe Allah is God.

Evidence: None.
Counter evidences: Many

1 - No evidence of all the claims in the K’oran.
2 - Muslims say “there is no god but allah” - Meaning allah is not god.
3 - Allah’s prophet said in Bukhari Volume 7, Book 63, Number 187: “No, she cannot re-marry the first
husband unless the second husband consummates his marriage with her, just as the first husband had done.”,
but in Jeremiah 3:1 and Deuteronomy 24, God said such acts are DETESTABLE AND DEFILEMENT.
Deut:"Their marriage would pollute the land that the LORD your God is giving you, and he would be disgusted.
This means that Allah was not the one Moses had spoken to!
4 - Allah’s prophet had no prophetic powers, no miraculous power
5 - Allah’s prophet is in Mecca, and all his sons died in their infancies.

NOW, YOU WANT TO COMPARE? I love comparing.
That’s about the most ridiculous argument I’ve read. “My faith is true because its true and your’s isn’t because it isn’t.” You have about as much evidence to prove Jesus was God as a muslim has to prove Allah is God, or a Jew has to prove Hashem is God.

Did I hear you correctly there Valke2? You asking me to prove factually that Jesus was God??? Are you even SANE?

That’s precisely why I sought to COMPARE. Or are you subversively trying to hi-jack the issue?

Let’s COMPARE, since you can’t prove yours while christians can prove theirs better but you disagree.

See. There you go again. Your “proof” consists of “My text is right and your text is wrong.” I don’t need to “prove” my religion. To sit there and tell me I can’t prove Judiasm and you can prove christianity is a “through the looking glass” argument. We might as well argue why my job is more rewarding than yours. It is an improper and fruitless way to frame a debate.

Poor Valke2,

This is precisely the reason why I think you’re driving towards an absurd objective. Isn’t that what you’re attempting?

Since you should not even be here in the first place if you wish to prove religious faith with facts and science. You started this absurdity when you made this silly request in response to my clearly winning comparison formula. Or are you trying to be a clown today?

Anyway I don’t even have to use facts to prove that Christianity is superior. No need to say who is right or wrong. Simply by using Islamic beliefs and its own set of values and claims in the Q’uran and Hadiths, I can easily throw it out the window as farce. You want to try?

It certainly wouldn’t be a case of my being true while yours being false. It will be a case of you proving yourself silly. How’s that?

No need to shelter allah from being exposed. Haven’t muslims sheltered him long enough these centuries to keep themselves in the silly faith?

But…you do sound like you’re avoiding something by harping on that silly request. Anyway, don’t worry, come, take up my comparison challenge and don’t keep silent yah?

Because you’re not comparing anything – you listed a bunch of your opinions in Catholicism’s favor and then even more opinions in Islam’s disfavor. How can you ‘compare’ that? And being patronizing won’t help your case at all.

Poor Valke2,

Yes. Driving toward absurd objectives has always been kind of a life’s dream for me.

I’ll let our posts speak for themselves.
Anyway I don’t even have to use facts to prove that Christianity is superior.
Lucky for you.

I’ve yet to see any religion win out in a game of dueling scriptures. But knock yourself out.

Like much of your previous posts, I don’t see where you are going with this. I have a little interest in pointing out the fallacy of you trying to prove your faith is better than someone else’s faith. I have no interest in debating you about that. However, if you want to make such posts for my review and response, go ahead.

Well, let’s try the first salvo, Valke2.

1 - Was muhammad a pedophile when he had sex with a 9 year old girl while he was 52 years old? I can quote you for this of course, just don’t want to waste my time.

Is the answer a Yes or No ?

Possible excuse 1 - No, cos it was customary.
Retort - Well, if it indeed was customary, it must have been well practised in that community. Give me some examples or 50 names of men who married little girls during muhammad’s time. Prove this, and I’ll say you’re right to excuse this pedophile.

Possible excuse 2 - No, cos she was his wife.
Retort - Well, if that is the benchmark, then if muhammad’s wife was 3 years old does it mean he can also have sex with her? Surely not. So, this excuse cannot apply.

Possible excuse 3 - No, cos she was old enough.
Retort - Well, this one sounds kind of queer. A 9 year old girl is not BIOLOGICALLY mature. So, how can she be old enough?

Jesusisgod: The bible says, believers must know God and know the Son that He sent. Do we know God and do we have eternal life? Now, if we pray towards Mecca, is this considered Heresy? If so, I sure wish our Pope was cursing Mecca when he faced it.
Have you heard of the Stavriotes? They are (usually) Orthodox, but sometimes Roman Catholic, who outwardly conform to Islam while secretly maintaining their Christianity. Also called “crypto-Christians,” they populated much of the Ottoman Empire, but still remain in Turkiye and the Middle East to this day. The Roman Catholic Church regards any formal conversion to Islam as apostasy, but the Orthodox hierarchy allows for their existence so long as when the time presents itself, they proclaim their faith in Christ. Many Stavriote communities proclaimed their faith in the nineteenth century and were attacked for refusing Islam. In Skopje, for example, Catholic Stavriotes who made this public declaration were either massacred or deported:(

Prayers and petitions,
Alexius

Just curious. Yousay they may maintain their adherence to Islam u ntil the right time to proclaim their faith. I’m sorry- when is that presumed to be? I did not know that there was a designated time in the future to proclaim one’s faith in Christ- either you did or you didn’t. When is that supposed opportune time?

Good question:thumbsup: !

I know when I meet a stranger, my initial introduction is not that I am a Christian. I certainly love to teach the Faith, but I want to get to know them better, so as to not “scare” them or make them think all I am is a “Jesus Freak.” As I get to know them, I can slowly present the Truth to them without there being a disconnect.

Unfortunately in the Middle East, being open about your Catholicism or Orthodoxy (from the get-go) only causes others to shun or persecute you. These people do not want to leave their place of birth, but they also do not want to surrender the gospel. When I was in Turkiye, I found it extremely easy to talk to indidual people about religion (they love to chat about religion), but to present the gospel on the street is illegal and to openly proclaim your faith in Christ (that is if you live in Turkiye) turns people off. So, the only option is to assimilate the culture in order to proclaim the faith.

In the Middle Eastern lands such as Saudi Arabia, it is illegal to even be a Christian. So there is little else to do.

In response to your question, the opportune time is when the Holy Spirit alerts you to come forward. Usually the whole community of believers comes forward at this “prompting.”

I am sorry if this is not an adaquate answer, but I could only direct you to get the response of a real Stavriote rather than listen to my speculations. I can only say that for many who live in “free” cultures, it is hard to imagine “compromising” Christ by converting in order to maintain their faith. I don’t think I explained any of this very well…😦

Prayers and petitions,
Alexius:cool:

Why do you spell Turkey like Turkiye? Turkey is spelled like turkey on the table.

Don’t worry I can’t spell all the time.😛 😃

Right, Turkey is spelled Turkey as in the bird according to the English language, but in Turkish it is spelled T-u-r-k-i-y-e. It’s kinda strange, but I started spelling it this way too! I guess it’s probably better not to though, since it’s extremely misleading:thumbsup: .

I did not know that. 🙂 Ok.

So this begs the question: if the arabic word Allah does NOT mean God as according to some here, does the Turkish word Turkiye still mean Turkey, and does it mean the country or the bird? Or is it heretical to call Turkiye Turkey or the other way around?

:whacky: Wow, my brain is so confused!

Do Muslims worship one God: Definitely! Do they worship one God in three persons: No!

So, since they do not worship the Triune God, but rather deny Him, they do not worship the God of the Bible = The One True God.

It is fine to call Turkiye “Turkey” as this is the proper English spelling. As for Turkiye being equivalent to the bird, I don’t think it is, but I’ll check…😃

But our arguement here is that neither do Jews, yet we must admit that they worship the one God, even if the do not worship the triune one. Saying that someone does not worship the One God, because they don’t believe he is triune would mean that Jews do not worship the one true God, which would mean bad things for us as Christians. So, yes Jews and Muslims do worship the same God.

It’s worth reminding folks, if they didn’t already know, that Pope Benedict XVI while in Turkey went into the Blue Mosque and stood side-by-side with the Muslims in prayer - facing in the direction of Mecca, no less.
Not only that but in various middle eastern christian church’s Arabs use the word Allah when talking in their own language because it is simply a middle eastern translation of the English word for God.

The phrase “there is no god but god”(No allah but allah) is therefore akin to saying in english “There is no other interpretation of god but our interpretation of god”.

They therefore worship the same god as our god, only they do it based on the Koran and therefore are simply not correctly interpreting the role of Jesus Christ in the events in question, neither are they correctly interpreting old testament events.

So therefore they are worshiping our god, but they are blaspheming and sinning in not worshiping god correctly.

The pope knew this, He didn’t care for Mohammad, he understood they are trying to worship the same god only they are wrong.
