What’s up with Katherine being in the bottom 3? I sooooo would’ve put Bucky there instead. I think she has a beautiful voice & she’s very pretty… but I wonder who votes for her? I think young girls vote for Paris or Chris or maybe Ace because he’s good looking (not to me though… totally CREEPS me out when he stares into the camera) I think older women ( and men… do men vote?) vote for Mandisa & Chris & Taylor… so who’s going to vote in droves for Katherine? Which is too bad because she’s more talented IMO than I think Elliot probably has the same problem.

I don’t entirely disagree with Katherin in the bottom 3 this week since the others have their . She totally unimpressed me - and then last night Simon said on playback no one sounded good. I just don’t like Christina/Mariah/Whitney type music. But I thought it was a weak performance.
I agree that she is more talented then Bucky, Ace, Paris or Kelly.
But each week when someone gets voted off (chicken little) those votes gotta go somewhere. And whoever voted for him is likely going to vote for someone else equally BAD. That tips the scales away from the better singers.

Hahahaha good point - the chicken little votes will go to the lousiest singer …

Anyway, it’s gonna be, well at least it should be, Chris, Taylor and Mandy at the top, so it doesn’t really make a diff when each of the others get voted out.
 
Vote in this msnbc American Idol poll. Kind of interesting. There are a couple other AI polls there too. Looks like Chris Daughtry is winning, with Taylor and Mandisa runners up.

After this poll there’s a link to another poll to see who should be voted off next - looks like Bucky is getting the majority of the votes with 53%…
 
Gotta say, I wasn’t really thrilled with anyone tonight. Granted, I’m not a huge Country Music fan, but no one really seemed to click with their songs. I’ll have to rate on vocals and overall performance and preference, but didn’t like very many song choices.

I’m going with Kellie as the best… (tonight) and then Taylor just because I think he’s adorable… and then maybe Elliott.

I agree it was boring tonight and I’m actually a Country music fan.
I think Chris’ song was a dud and I didn’t care for Mandisa’s vocals at all.

My husband thinks that Katherine is the best by far. Not sure I agree with that.

I think Ace will go. Maybe Bucky. I can’t understand a word he sings… what a mumbler he is. Do you think Bucky is his real name?

Yes, I think it is his real name. A few weeks ago they had his twin brother on with him and he had a name similar, you know, very country-ish.
 
I guess I liked Kellie but really didn’t care for tonight.

My guess is Bucky will go…
 
I’m a country-music fan, so I was a little hesitant to see how the contestants would do tonight…

…Taylor could’ve picked a better son (I felt it was too hight for him)

…Mandisa - country’s just not her thing…

…same with Elliot…

…very surprised with Paris and her rendition of “How Do I Live”…

…I actually wasn’t happy with Kellie’s song…

…Chris - great singing on that Keith Urban song…same with Ace…(also a Keith Urban song)…

…Buckey…well… 😦

…overall, I thought that Katherine’s was the best performance.

I sort of like Ryan’s beardish thing. His look this year is WAY better than his aging beach dude look of last year.

Did you catch the comment Simon made to Ryan about Desperate Housewives? Apparently he & Teri Hatcher are a thing? (If you can believe Current Affair?)

I also read in - was it People magazine? Anyhow - that Ryan & Simon party together all the time on the weekend. Their constant squabbling is a big act. I’m so bored with it.

I heard that Ryan & Simon are good friends & the squabbling on American Idol is an act, too.

I was wrong. Bucky’s real name is William Covington, Bucky’s his nickname. Just thought we should all know the name of the next one to leave! 😦

Glad to know it’s not his real name. Who names their child Bucky? Wasn’t his twin brother something similar… like Mucky?

Yup. :yup:

My biggest surprise of the night was awful Taylor did. That was disappointing. He could have easily found a better song at the crossroads of country and soul.

Also, I was surprised that Chris turned in such a great performance in the country category. I think he did Keith Urban - dare I say it? - perhaps better then Keith? I’m glad he didn’t try to do southern rock, just wouldn’t have worked.

I admit it. Kellie did good. I still can’t stand her.

Bucky is leaving us tonight, right?
 
Yeah, I think it’s going to be Bucky. But, I’ll tell you, I checked out some online polls ( I know, I should act my age :rolleyes: ) and Ace didn’t even show up on some of them, meaning Bucky did better than Ace.

So, we could all be surprised.
