I was really impressed with Chris, too! He sang that Fuel song soooo naturally - there were many opportunities where someone could have gone incredibly flat or incredibly sharp, especially on those sustained notes, and he nailed them perfectly!

I have no time to post today… as a proud American, I’m going to be busy calling “Brenna” to help her make some money. After all, she did ask that of us no less than 10 times last night. :rolleyes:

He is my favorite as well. Plus, he is family man. He speaks so highly of his Wife and Children (step-children, although he never refers to them as such) My husband and I were discussing whether or not that would change once he became rich and famous. I hope not! I hope he wins and then proves to the world it is possible to be rich and famous and still have a GREAT family life.

I was thinking…“uhg… I bet everyone on the show is so thankful she is leaving.”

I also must admit that Elliot Yamin is a tremendously talented vocalist. Unfortunatly, he doesn’t have that X factor to compete against Chris Daughtry who has that, and a voice. I like him, Chris and Katherine.
 
What did you all think of Carrie’s performance, I thought it was beautiful 👍
 
My thread on this got lost at the water cooler:o Oh well–glad there’s this one!!

Paris is BY FAR the most talented girl, IMO, and I like Taylor Hicks and Chris D. for the guys I don’t think there’s another gal who’s true star material except Paris. As for “star potential”, in the guys, Chris D. has got it hands down, but I like Taylor’s music by far the best.

My H likes Catherine McPhee, because she’s the prettiest one, not for her voice, he admitted. So…just proves there’s more reasons why people vote than just the voice, right?

I like Simon the best of the judges. His opinion is always the most “right on” IMO, and I feel he gets a bad rapp, why? because he’s honest, and correct in most cases.

Carrie’s performance was truly awesome and beautiful! She is gorgeous! and a real star!!! American picked right in her, that’s for sure. Reminds me of a young Trishia Yearwood.

They keep saying that there is great talent this year … but I thought last season had much better talent.

However, having said that … I’ll be rooting for Taylor Hicks!!!

There’s just something about the guy that just makes him so likeable!

Kellie is adorable…very refreshing…sings nice but not as experienced as some…

Simon gave his opinion on tv recently…he said

(don’t remember the order) I only caught part of it but he mentioned them…

Kellie Pickler Elliott Yamin and I think Chris
Mandisa Taylor Hicks
Paris Ace
I believe there was another girls name but can’t remember it…
 
Love Chris this year, loved Bo last year. Chris will never win, there’s too many tweens that will vote for the bubble headed blonde who kept on talkin’ bout “Calamarrriii.” Simon LOVES her too, in which way, I’m not sure - I don’t think it’s for her singing.
 
My favorite by far last night was Mandisa. I usually love Paris, but she wasn’t her best last night.

Yes, I agree…Mandisa was the best…

Paris is good but your’e right she was a bit off last night…

I like Kellie…such a sweet personality…I hope she is on the show longer but she’ll never win…(unless her voice becomes stronger)
 
My absolute favorite is Taylor Hicks. He just makes me smile every time I watch him. I don’t know what it is, but I love that guy. Perhaps I am biased, (because my husband has been going silver since before I met him at age 26!) I also think Chris is amazing, and if I had to pick a winner right now, I’d say it will probably be him. However, I feel badly for his wife. He is going to be a big star, regardless of whether he wins or not, and that means a lot of time on the road away from home, and tons of women throwing themselves at her husband. She must be so proud, excited, and worried all at the same time. I think they may be the last two guys there. I think all of them are good, however. And all are so different this year. And young!!

The girls are a bit harder for me. I liked Paris from the start. Lisa Tucker is great, as is Katherine McPhee. But I think the last two girls standing may just be Kelly Pickler and Mandisa. Kelly will get the personality votes and Mandisa will get the talent votes. (not that both of them don’t have personality *and * talent, they do, just different levels of each).

Can’t wait to see the guys tonight. Every week, they get better! I do wish some of the girls would check their wardrobes though. Some of the outfits are not fit, if you know what I mean. 😉

I wanted Bo to win last year …But the right person won…I admit Carrie is good…

Chris Daughtry is my favorite. He has a terrific voice, and he’s cute! I hope he makes it to the finals.

Mandisa is really good, but what in the world is up with her dropping her last name!!??

I agree! Last year was the first and only time I voted. I love her CD.
 
I think Taylor will win. LOVE LOVE LOVE his singing style.

I have grown bored with Kelly’s “I am such a hick” routine.

I really like Bucky’s personality… but what’s with his parents… did they really name their twins Bucky & Rocky? Tell me those are nicknames please?!

I don’t care for the guy who looks like Peter Brady… or the young guy… that song he sang tonight… Stary Stary night… :yawn:
 
I was so bummed when Sway Penala was eliminated. I would have loved to see a Filipino-American in the top 12.

I’m really rooting for Chris Daughtry (GO ROCKER!). I wish he would do a rendition of songs by Shinedown and I bet he can pull it off. His vocal talent is really amazing (probably better than Bo Bice’s IMO). Elliot Yamin is also very good, and while Taylor Hicks’ vocals are not as good, I really think he has style.

For the girls, I’m rooting for Lisa Tucker, Mandisa, and Paris. Kelly Pickler could improve if only she can do something about her nervousness. I think her audition is probably the best performance I’ve seen from her.
 
Here are a couple of Idol questions I have been pondering.
  1. Has anyone else noticed how much better Ryan looks since he threw out his trendy tee shirts, dyed his hair back to its natural color and started wearing suits? Much more ‘Dick Clark-ish’ wouldn’t you say?
  2. Can certain Idol’s from this years picks, overcome their IMAGE challenges even though they are tremendously talented? (Mandisa, Eliott Yamin, Bucky)? Not to be uncharitable - but hey, this IS Hollywood we are talking about. I often think, “Mandisa is the most talented female singer, but they won’t be as generous to her as Ruben Stoddard as far as image. Is it because she is female?”
What say you?
